Bison golf remains undefeated
AT BLAIR PARK
HIGH POINT — High Point Central remained unbeaten on Wednesday, carding a 154 for a 26-shot win over Southwestern Randolph at Blair Park.
Justin Franklin led the Bison with a 2-under-par 35. Harrison Frye added a 38 and Matthew Krawczyk had a 40. Ryan Eskew, Lee Sanderlin and Matthew Benton all shot 41 to tie for Central’s fourth-best score.
AT WILSHIRE GOLF CLUB
WINSTON-SALEM — Ledford won Wednesday’s three-team match at par-36 Wilshire Golf Club.
The Panthers prevailed at 161, followed by North Davidson at 165 and West Forsyth at 170.
Ledford’s Cam Weis took medalist honors at 38, followed by teammate Anthony Bradley at 39. The Panthers’ Parker Hughes shot 41 as did North’s Cody Hill, Travis Roach and Austin Hege as well as West’s Mark Johnson. Ledford’s Ryan McClellan carded 44.
AT PINE KNOLLS
KERNERSVILLE — Bishop McGuinness carded 148 to post a 12-stroke victory in Wednesday’s Northwest 1A/2A Conference match at windy Pine Knolls Golf Club.
East Surry placed second at 160, followed by West Stokes at 166, Mount Airy at 171, South Stokes at 172, North Surry at 175, Surry Central at 185 and North Stokes at 198.
South Stokes’ Wesley Lineberry was medalist at two-under 34.
Bishop’s Tanner Owen and South Stokes’ Keenan Denny shared second at 35. Bishop’s Mason Orr shot 36, while teammate Zach Shields recorded 37.
EAST SURRY 5, BISHOP 4
PILOT MOUNTAIN — East Surry’s Drew Wilson struck out 12 in a 5-4 Northwest 1A/2A Conference win over Bishop McGuinness late Tuesday night.
For the Villains (5-7, 1-6), Stuart Spiers finished 2-for-3 and pitched 5.2 solid innings but took the loss.
Bishop plays host to West Stokes on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
HP CENTRAL 15, RAGSDALE 4
JAMESTOWN — Elana Smith struck out 10 as High Point Central defeated Ragsdale 15-4 late Tuesday.
Kelly Stewart had a double and three RBIs for the Bison (5-5), who play at Page on April 9 at 6 p.m.
TRINITY 11, S. DAVIDSON 1 (6)
TRINITY – Johna Mizzi hit a home run and had two RBIs as Trinity overpowered South Davidson 11-1 in a nonconference game stopped after six innings because of the 10-run mercy rule on Wednesday.
Winning pitcher Noelle Butler went the distance, striking out nine, walking three and surrendering four hits.
Ashley Key also drove two runs, going 2-for-3 at the place. Bailey Andrews was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
Trinity (7-6) goes to Atkins on Friday.
NW GUILFORD 8, GLENN 4
WINSTON-SALEM – Northwest Guilford posted seven runs in the fourth and posted a 8-4 win over Glenn in Piedmont Triad 4A play Wednesday.
Heather burton went 2-for-3, drove in one run and scored another for the losing Bobcats (8-4, 5-2 PTC). Samantha Stilling was 1-for-2. Karen Foley was the losing pitcher.

JAMESTOWN – Austin Lynk led the winners for Southwest Guilford in a 9-0 sweep of Ragsdale in Piedmont Triad 4A Conference play on Wednesday.
Lynk defeated Steve Walsh 6-2,6-3 at No. 1 singles. Danny GIllespie topped Matt Ritter 6-1,6-2 at No. 2. Steven Michel def, Alec Cobb 6-0,6-0 at No. 3. Brian Jobe def. Jonathan Poteat-Smith 6-1,6-2 at No. 4. Jacob Arett def. Walker Crump 7-6 (2), 6-2 at No. 5 while Sai Hari def, Tieg Dryden 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6.
In doubles, Lynk/gillespie def. Walsh/Ritter, 8-1; Michel/Jobe def. Cobb/Dryden, 8-2 and Arett/Chris seo def. Henry McGugan/Randall Nguyen, 8-1.
Southwest improves to 7-5, 5-3 PTC. Ragsdale is 2-4,-0-4.

HIGH POINT — Atkins edged T.W. Andrews 5-4 in PAC-6 2A action on Wednesday.
Adish Phapa, Faisal Sulman and Scott Martin won in singles for the Red Raiders (1-10, 1-3). Martin-Sulman prevailed in doubles for Andrews, which visits Trinity on April 8.
NW GUILFORD 6, HP CENTRAL 3
HIGH POINT – Northwest Guilford swept the doubles after a split of the singles matches to post a 6-3 victory over High Point Central in a key Piedmont Triad 4A match on Wednesday.
Carter Gay, Tripp Smith and Robert Tutton won singles matches for Central, which drops to 11-2, 6-2 in the PTC. The Bison go to Grimsley today at 4:30 p.m.
LEDFORD 8, S. GUILFORD 1
SUMNER – Ledford won every match except No. 5 singles for a 8-1 win over Southern Guilford in Mid-Piedmont 3A play on Wednesday.
Rick Ydrovo led the way for the Panthers with a 6-1-6-0 win over Dylan Cho at No. 1 singles. Thomas Freeman of Ledford defeated Jake Wall 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. Erik McSwaim def, Southern’s Anthony Scala 6-4,6-3 at No. 3 singles while Will Harrington of the Panthers stopped Jason Gray 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4. Andy Beckman topped Daniel Gray, 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6.
Daniel Elcock of Southern was a 6-2, 6-3 winner over Matt Hartzell at No. 5.
In doubles play, Ydrovo/Freeman defeated Cho/Wall, 8-0; Andy Buchanan/Harrington def. Scala/Cody Richardson, 8-3; and Cameron Maxwell/Allen Boydea def. the Gray brothers, 9-7.
Ledford improves to 10-2, 5-1 Mid-Piedmont 3A. Southern falls to 4-5, 3-3.

TRINITY — Maddy Myers led a balanced attack with two goals as Wheatmore blanked Atkins 7-0 on Wednesday night.
Shay Pencola, Cora Weeks, Mayra Soto, Alexis Rowell and Lauren Whitaker added one goal each for the Warriors (6-2-2). Emily Brown dished two assists and Candice Lockhart had one. Weeks served in goal for Wheatmore, which plays host to Asheboro today at 6 p.m.
TRINITY 8, T.W. ANDREWS 1
HIGH POINT - Angelica Conroy scored a hat trick to help lead Trinity to a 8-1 PAC-6 2A victory on Wednesday.
Elizabeth Adkins and Allison Lewis had two goals apiece for the Bulldogs while Shelby Hill had one.
Diamond Lattimore scored the lone goal for Andrews.
MOUNT TABOR BOYS 15, BISHOP 8
WINSTON-SALEM — Mount Tabor’s boys turned back Bishop McGuinness 15-8 late Tuesday night.
Cameron Bradford, Sean Hammacher and Tom Valle scored two goals each for the Villains. Max Leftwich and Patrick Willard added one goal each. Rhys Murdock, Leftwich and Bradford had one assist each. Riley Furr made eight saves in goal for Bishop.

THOMASVILLE — Southern Guilford swept Ledford in a dual meet on Wednesday.
In the boys meet, the Storm prevailed 83-52. Winners for Southern included Malik Moseley (110-meter hurdles, 15.89 seconds; and 300-hurdles, 43.54; and triple jump, 42 feet, 1.5 inches), Reggie Gallaspy (100-meter dash, 11.44), Derek Puryear (400-meter dash, 54.91), Taylor Johnson (200-meter dash, 25.09), Lekevis Lawrence (long jump, 20 feet, 6.5 inches), and Stevon Davis (5 feet, 6 inches). The storm also won the 800-meter relay
Winners for Ledford: Anthony Hughes (1600 meters, 5:07). Blake Lassiter (880 run, 2:19), Robert Scott (3200, 11:10), Hudson Reynolds (discus, 125 feet, 1 inch) and shot put (42-3) and Tristan Shaver (pole vault, 9 feet)
Southern took the girls event, 81-55. Winners for the Storm were Kylie McMillan (100 hurdles, 16.06; 300 hurdles, 53.5; and 200 meters, 28.47), Chelseigh Holmes (100 dash, 13.19), Carly Mass (1600, 6:19, and 3200, 13:32), Raven Hamilton (400, 1:04.56) and Daijah Walden (high jump (4 feet, 4 inches). Southern also won the 3200 and 800 meter relays
Ledford’s winners were Sam Miller (discus, 75 feet, and shot put, 32-10): Courtney Cefalo (triple jump, 29-9.5, and long jump, 16-10.50 and Brooke Shelton (pole vault, 9 feet).
