HP Central’s Pratt earns PTC defensive honor

Germaine Pratt of High Point Central was named the Piedmont Triad 4A defensive football player of the year and was among nine Bison who made the all-conference team announced by the league recently.
Juwan Foggie, Tim Gorham, Jamiel Mack, Adam Olsen and Amar Peguese of the Bison were named to the all-league squad on offense while Jaraiel Simmons, Jerry Jenkins and Josh Wilson joined Pratt on defense.
Anthony Harding of Northwest Guilford was named offensive player of the year while Joe Woodruff of the Vikings is the coach of the year.
Ericc Cunningham, Juan Pagan, Ambrose Jackson and Rick Mack were all-conference picks from Southwest Guilford. Bryce Walker, Brian Flaskrud, T.J. Parker, Tevin Quick and Grayson Collins were selected from Ragsdale while Terrell Jones, D.J. Miller, Ryan Foley, Danny Casale, Yiannis Bowden and Dedrick Hawkins made it from Glenn.
Briana Burgins of Southwest Guilford was named player of the year in volleyball and was joined on the all-conference team by teammate Jordan Richmond. Bojo Jada, Erin Whitman and Mikayla Pettyjohn were chosen from Ragsdale; Sadie Weston from High Point Central and Karen Dooley from Glenn.
Darlene Joyner from 10-0 champion Northwest Guilford was coach of the year.
Sarah Platek of Ragsdale was named runner of the year in girls cross country. Carmen Davis of Southwest and Mason Kepley gained spots on the all-conference team. Paul Egleston of Northwest Guilford was coach of the year.
Joliana Elias of Ragsdale was voted girls golfer of the year and was joined on the all-conference team by teammate Brooke Fields. Taylor Strassburg and Savannah Gilbert of Glenn; Lauren Giles and Ashlyn Day of Central; and Sarah Phelan of Southwest were also on the all-conference squad. Jason Jones of Northwest was coach of the year.
Among the all-conference selections in women’s tennis were Eva Ellenburg and Kristen Biddle of Central; Abby DeBerry and Maggie Lawrence of Ragsdale; and Maggie Jermyn of Southwest. Joelle Fuchs of conference champion Northwest Guilford was named player of the year and Randy Alexander of the Vikings is coach of the year.
Andrew Gullickson, Brian Jobe, Carl Druebbisch and Holden Hmiel were named all-conference in boys soccer from Southwest. Among other selections were Carlos Murillo, Scott Poston and Campbell Locke of Central; Cristian Zavala and Matt Murray of Glenn; and Tanner Shumate and Julian Montoya of Ragsdale.
Walker Raines of Northwest was the offensive player of the year while Walker Raines of Vikings was defensive player of the year with Jason Allred coach of the year.
Zach Patel and Nolan Patrick of Southwest; Thomas Neale, Rishab Tevanker and James Thompson of Ragsdale; Tofik Gebre of Central; and Joel Caruthers of Glenn were among all-conference runners in boys cross country. Dalton Lyons of Northwest was runner of the year, with Tom Soth of the Vikings chosen as coach of the year.
