Westchester, Wesleyan bag baseball wins
WESTCHESTER 17, O’NEAL 0 (4 INNINGS)
HIGH POINT — Tyler Marion homered and got the win as Westchester Country Day School pounded O’Neal 17-0 in a 3 1/2 inning game on Friday.
Marion went 1-for-1 with a two-run homer and worked the first two innings, striking out five and allowing one hit for the Wildcats (3-0). Troy Polen pitched the final two innings for WCDS with five Ks and one hit. Markel Johnson finished 2-for-2 with three steals for Westchester, while Donnie Sellers was 1-for-1 with a triple and two RBIs. Westchester visits Charlotte Country Day on Tuesday.
WESLEYAN 3, MOUNT TABOR 1
WINSTON-SALEM — Jake Moebius struck out 10 in four-plus innings of two-hit relief to run his record to 3-0 on the year as Wesleyan Christian Academy edged Mount Tabor 3-1 on Friday night.
Hayden Manuel went 4-for-4 with two doubles and two runs for the Trojans (5-1), while Johnny Rollins was 1-for-4 with an RBI for Wesleyan, which visits Calvary Baptist on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
REAGAN 9, HP CENTRAL 0
HIGH POINT — Reagan topped High Point Central 9-0 on Friday night.
Zach McLean went 2-for-3 with a double for the Bison.
EAST FORSYTH 11, RAGSDALE 5
KERNERSVILLE — East Forsyth erupted for six runs in the sixth inning and defeated Ragsdale 11-5 in PTC 4A action on Friday night.
Lucas Westmoreland got the win for the Eagles (3-2, 1-1). Tim Ambrose took the loss for the Tigers (2-3, 1-1). Niko Orfanedes went 3-for-4 with two runs for the Tigers, while Cesar Trejo was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Ragsdale visits Southwest Guilford on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
MOUNT AIRY 4, BISHOP 0
MOUNT AIRY — Mount Airy blanked Bishop McGuinness 4-0 in Northwest 1A/2A Conference action on Friday night.
Matt Niedert tossed a complete game for the Villains (3-2, 0-2), with seven strikeouts and five hits allowed. Chris Angiolino was 2-for-2 for Bishop, which plays at Walktertown today at 3 p.m..
EAST DAVIDSON 10, TRINITY 0
TRINITY — Brooke Walser got the win and Candice Hopkins went 2-for-4 with two RBIs as East Davidson topped Trinity 10-0 on Friday night.
Noelle Butler took the loss for the Bulldogs (3-2). The Golden Eagles inproved to 3-1.
Trinity plays host to West Davidson on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
GLENN 15, PARKLAND 0 (4 INNINGS)
WINSTON-SALEM — Caitlyn Parker drilled two doubles and Tracy Haynes and Breanna Murphy added triples as Glenn defeated Parkland 15-0 in four innings in PTC 4A action on Friday.
Parker went 2-for-2 with three runs and two RBIs, while Haynes was 3-for-3 with 3 runs and 2 RBIs and Murphy was 3-for-3 with three RBIs as the Bobcats improved to 3-1, 1-0. The Mustangs fell to 3-1, 1-1.
WHEATMORE 6, EASTERN RANDOLPH 2 (8 INNINGS)
FARMER — Wheatmore’s Nicole Hunter drilled a game-tying pinch-hit single in the seventh, then the Warriors added four in the eighth to beat Eastern Randolph 6-2 on Friday night.
Morgan Halo pitched all eight innings to get the win for the Warriors (5-0) and also went 3-for-3 with a double and RBI. Taylor Walker was 2-for-4 with a double for Wheatmore, while Katie Kennedy was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Wheatmore plays host to SW Randolph on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
BISHOP 8, MOUNT AIRY 1
MOUNT AIRY — Natalie Hardy went 2-for-5 with two runs scored as Bishop McGuinness defeated Mount Airy 8-1 on Friday night.
Julia Errington and Ernae Pinnix also scored two runs apiece for the Villains (2-3). Hardy got the win on the mound.
SW GUILFORD 3, R.J. REYNOLDS 2
WINSTON-SALEM — Kylie Jones scored two goals and Maggie Clark dished two assists as Southwest Guilford edged R.J. Reynolds 3-2 on Friday night.
Samantha Wang added a goal for the Cowgirls (2-0-2), while Cameron France tallied an assist and Loren Sterling made seven saves in goal for Southwest, which plays host to Grimsley on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
O’NEAL 2, WESTCHESTER 0
PINEHURST — O’Neal built a 2-0 first-half lead, then held on for a 2-0 victory over Westchester Country Day School on Friday.
Maddie Dyson made 27 saves for the Wildcats (0-2), who got stellar second-half defense from Anna Hood and Julie Tugwell. Westchester visits High Point Christian Academy on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
HP CENTRAL 9, SOUTHERN GUILFRD 0
HIGH POINT — High Point Central rolled past Southern Guilford for a 9-0 win on Friday.
Tripp Smith, Alex Hill, Robert Tutton, Bobby Little, Mack Earnhardt and Trey Sedberry prevailed in singles for the Bison (4-1). Smith-Sedberry, Sam Utley-Matt Amos and Little-Tutton won in doubles for Central, which plays host to Parkland on Monday.

CARRBORO — Carolina Friends downed Westchester Country Day School on Friday. The Wildcats (0-2, 0-1) look to bounce back at American Hebrew Academy on Wednesday.
BISHOP BOYS 16, GLENN 1
WINSTON-SALEM — Cameron Bradford struck for five goals and two assists and Patrick Willard tallied four goals as Bishop McGuinness’ boys topped Glenn 16-1 late Thursday night.
Mason Murdock added three goals and Riley Brannon dished two assists for the Villains, who got one goal and one assist apiece from Tom Valle and Rhys Murdock. Max Leftwich and Zach Fowler had one goal each for Bishop, while Cameron Reitzel and Sean Hamacher had one assist each. Jake Anderholm (2 saves) and Riley Furr (2 saves) split time in goal for the Villains.
