VOLLEYBALL

HPCA DEF. GREENSBORO DAY
HIGH POINT — Sydney Rowan recorded 11 kills and nine digs as High Point Christian Academy swept Greensboro Day School 25-13, 25-14, 25-5 on Monday.
Taylor Brooks served eight aces for the Cougars (12-10). Rachel Cox dished 11 assists for HPCA, which plays host to Calvary Baptist today at 5:15 p.m.

SW GUILFORD DEF. WESTERN GUILFORD
HIGH POINT — Bri Burgins recorded 15 kills and three blocks as Southwest Guilford topped Western Guilford 25-17, 25-18, 25-27, 25-16 late Monday.
Meredith Stringfellow tallied 10 kills and five blocks for the Cowgirls (7-7, 1-3 PTC 4A), while Abigayle Gardner had 14 assists and six aces.

WHEATMORE DEF. CENTRAL DAVIDSON
LEXINGTON — Kelly Davis dished 38 assists and Kathryn Johnson collected 13 kills and four digs as Wheatmore defeated Central Davidson 25-17, 25-12, 25-21 late Monday.
Georgia Garrison tallied 10 kills, three aces and three digs for the Warriors (13-1). Emily Brown made eight kills, while Allie Grubb notched five kills and four blocks, Davey Albertson had five kills and three blocks and Casey Hawkins had four digs and a kill for Wheatmore.

REAGAN DEF. WESLEYAN
HIGH POINT — Reagan nipped Wesleyan Christian Academy 25-13, 27-25, 25-23 late Monday.
Brittney Goodson recorded 12 digs and six kills for the Trojans (9-3). Amanda Connette finished with 15 kills for WCA, while Gracie Bulla tallied seven kills and six digs, Taylor Pietranozzi had 27 digs and Kelly Corn dished 27 assists.


SOUTH STOKES DEF. BISHOP
WALNUT COVE — South Stokes outlasted Bishop McGuinness for a 14-25, 25-22, 20-25, 25-21, 15-13 win late Monday.
Jessica Brandewie finished with 38 assists, seven kills and four aces for the Villains. Julia Brown tallied 18 kills, two aces and an assist for Bishop, while Julia Kane recorded 12 kills. Julie Dorosiewicz notched 11 kills, an ace and an assist for the Villains, while Julia Errington had three assists and two kills and Tia Cappuccio had an ace and an assist.

ASHEBORO DEF. TRINITY
ASHEBORO — Asheboro downed Trinity 25-14, 25-15, 25-15 late Monday.
The Bulldogs fell to 8-5, 2-2 in conference.

TENNIS

RANDLEMAN 5, T.W. ANDREWS 4
RANDLEMAN — Randleman clipped T.W. Andrews 5-4 in PAC-6 2A action on Monday.
Hannah Snyder, Hannah Wade and Starr MacArthur won in singles for the Red Raiders (1-11, 1-6). Valencia Torres and Anna Spencer prevailed in doubles for Andrews, which plays at Lexington today at 4:30.

NW GUILFORD 9, HIGH POINT CENTRAL 0
HIGH POINT — High Point Central fell 9-0 against visiting Northwest Guilford 9-0 in a Piedmont Triad 4A Conference match Monday.
The Bison dipped to 11-2 overall and 5-2 in the PTC. They play again Wednesday at home against Ragsdale.

LEDFORD 9, N. DAVIDSON 0
WALLBURG — Ledford cruised past visiting North Davidson 9-0 in a nonconference match Monday.
Taylor Freeman, Elizabeth Stroup, Erin Crotts, Emma Caroline Russell, Sarah Richardson and Katie Wilson swept singles for the Panthers (14-0).
Freeman-Stroup, Crotts-Russell and Richardson-Wilson were victorious in doubles.
Ledford plays again Wednesday at home against Central Davidson.

CENTRAL DAVIDSON 6, SOUTHERN GUILFORD 3
LEXINGTON — Central Davidson topped Southern Guilford 6-3 late Monday.
Avion Harris and Abygail Duquette won in singles for the Storm (2-9, 0-8 MPC 3A). Devan Coble-Duquette prevailed in doubles.
Southern plays host to Southwestern Randolph on Thursday.

RAGSDALE 6, SW GUILFORD 3
JAMESTOWN — Ragsdale stopped Southwest Guilford 6-3 in Piedmont Triad 4A action late Monday.
Maggie Lawrence, Abby DeBerry, Mina Akbari and Madison Harmon won in singles for the Tigers. Deberry/Akbari and Lawrence-Harmon prevailed in doubles.
For the Cowgirls, Hannah Mills and Carley Anne Bullman netted singles victories. Sophia Nagy-Bullman posted a doubles win.

SW GUILFORD 1, MOUNT TABOR 1
HIGH POINT — Carl Druebbisch scored as Southwest Guilford battled Mount Tabor to a 1-1 draw late Monday.
Kyle Shina made five saves in goal for the Cowboys (9-0-2).

GREENSBORO DAY 2, HP CHRISTIAN 1
HIGH POINT — Casey Penland scored the lone goal for High Point Christian in a 2-1 loss against state-ranked No. 3 Greensboro Day in PACIS 3A action Monday.
Penland’s goal was unassisted, cutting into the Bengals’ lead after they scored once in the first half and again in the second to lead 2-0.
Chantz Sawyers made 12 saves in goal for the Cougars (3-10, 1-4 PACIS), who play again today at home against Calvary Baptist at 4:30 p.m.

HIGH POINT CENTRAL 2, S. GUILFORD 0
HIGH POINT — Carlos Murillo scored twice for High Point Central in a 2-0 win against visiting Southern Guilford in a nonconference match Monday.
Ryan Eskew had an assist for the Bison (8-1), who led 1-0 at halftime. Stephen Smith and Tucker Ford combined for the shutout in goal.
Central opens Piedmont Triad 4A Conference play tonight at East Forsyth at 7.

THOMASVILLE 2, EAST DAVIDSON 1
THOMASVILLE — Derek Calderon-Solis and Armando Alexis Sifuentes scored goals as visiting Thomasville edged East Davidson 2-1 on Monday.
Nikko Weeman and Sifuentes dished assists for the Bulldogs (4-9, 1-1 CCC 2A), who got 20 saves from goalkeeper Cruz Robles.
Thomasville plays at Salisbury on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

CROSS-COUNTRY

BEESON PARK INVITATIONAL
KERNERSVILLE — Hayden Hamlett took 33rd place in the girls race to spark High Point Christian Academy at the Beeson Park Invitational.
Hamlett clocked 22:16 for the Cougars, followed by teammate McKenna Farlow in 50th in 22:48 and Peyton Labiak in 100th in 25:11.
For the Cougar boys, Garrett Foster placed 75th in 19:25, followed by David Loy in 94th in 19:55, Parker Hamlett in 109th in 20:29, Jonathan Loy in 130th in 21:07, Zach Krpejs in 150th in 23:02 and Luke Threatt in 152nd in 23:53.
In the girls JV race, HPCA’s Cynthia Dong took 76th in 26:54.

GOLF

PACIS MATCH AT STARMOUNT
HIGH POINT — Cecily Overbey carded a sizzling 2-under 34 to win medalist honors as Wesleyan Christian Academy took Monday’s PACIS 3A tri-match at Starmount Country Club.
The Trojans shot 134, followed by Forsyth Country Day at 143 and Greensboro Day School at 182.
Also for Wesleyan, Erica Hamilton shot 48 and Erike Peck 52.
Wesleyan plays FCD at Reynolds Course in Tanglewood on Monday.

AT MEADOWLANDS GOLF CLUB
WALLBURG — Ledford’s Meghan Holbrooks earned medalist honors at even-par 36 as the Panthers won the three-team match at Meadowlands Golf Club on Monday.
The Panthers carded 114,, followed by Central Davidson at 136, Southwestern Randolph at 139 and Asheboro at 161.
Ledford’s Lexi Kershaw and Central Davidson’s Victoria Hedrick shared second at 37.
Also for Ledford, Jordan Young shot 41, Kelsey Leach 42 and Mary Davis 49.

PTC 4A AT MAPLE LEAF
KERNERSVILLE — Ragsdale’s Joliana Elias won medalist honors at 1-over 36, while Northwest Guilford took the team win in Monday’s Piedmont Triad 4A Conference match at Maple Leaf on Monday.
The Vikings carded 137, followed by Ragsdale at 140, Southwest Guilford at 148, High Point Central at 149, Glenn at 150 and East Forsyth at 154.
Also for the Tigers, Brooke Fields carded 48 and Caroline Spillman shot 56.
For the Cowgirls, Sarah Phelan shot 43, Madison Harriman 50 and Ashlyn Hyde 55.
For the Bison, freshman Lauren Giles shot 46, Ashlyn Day 51 and Jennifer Galanti 52.
Another PTC 4A match is set for Wednesday at 4 p.m. at River Landing.
