T.W. Andrews almost completely controlled both halves in beating Randleman 42-10 on homecoming Friday at A.J. Simeon Stadium in a key matchup atop the PAC-6 2A standings.

The Red Raiders (6-1, 2-0), who’ve won six straight since losing in week 1 to High Point Central and are ranked No. 6 in the state 2A poll, scored on four of their five possessions of the half to quickly pull ahead and led 28-10 at halftime.
Senior quarterback Lamar Raynard completed 8 of 11 passes for 122 yards and three touchdowns for the game, while senior running back Marquell Cartwright added 134 yards and one TD, and Rontei Wilkes had 90 yards and two TDs to lead Andrews.
On the Red Raiders’ opening drive, Cartwright ran up the middle, bounced left and raced to the end zone for a 38-yard score. Then, following field goal for the Tigers (6-2, 1-1), Rontei Wilkes ran around the right side past the defense for a 59-yard score to lead 14-3.
After its only punt of the half, Andrews scored twice through the air, as Raynard rolled left and laid a perfectly placed pass beyond two defenders for a 35-yard TD to receiver Justin Lea to lead 21-3. Then, he found tight end Branden Galloway for another 35-yard TD to lead 28-3.
Randleman, following a slew of consecutive penalties, did score on a 2-yard pass from Nathan Sloan to Juval Mollette in the final seconds of the half to cut it to 28-10 at halftime. From there, though, the Red Raiders kept the Tigers out of reach in the second half.
Raynard found Lea again for an 8-yard TD midway through the third, and Wilkes scored again from 11 yards out in the fourth for the final margin. Bradley Berridge led Randleman with 35 yards rushing while Mollette had 51 yards receiving and one TD.
Next week, both teams play at home, with Andrews facing Eastern Randolph, and Randleman taking on Trinity.
