HIGH POINT — High Point Central topped crosstown rival T.W. Andrews 8-1 on Wednesday.
Kristen Biddle, Meredith Field, Emily Adams, Bailey Weston and Rachel Shelton won in singles for the Bison (3-0). Eva Ellenburg-Biddle, Field-Weston and Emma Skinner-Adams prevailed in doubles.
China Goode won in singles for the Red Raiders.
Central plays host to Southern Guilford today at 4:30 p.m.

WHEATMORE 8, EAST DAVIDSON 1
TRINITY — Wheatmore improved to 4-0 with an 8-1 win over East Davidson on Wednesday.
Mary Vecellio, Jordan Myers, Jessica Myers, Olivia Doane and Somer Stout won in singles for the Warriors, while Stephanie Fortner-Vecellio, the Myers sisters and Doane-Stout prevailed in doubles.
Ashley Taylor netted a singles win for the Golden Eagles.
Southern visits Asheboro today at 4:30 p.m.

CENTRAL DAVIDSON 8, SOUTHERN GUILFORD 1
SUMNER — Central Davidson downed Southern Guilford 8-1 on Wednesday.
Abygail Duquette won in singles for the Storm (0-3), who visit High Point Central today at 4:30 p.m.

LEDFORD 8, WEST DAVIDSON 1
WALLBURG — Ledford improved to 5-0 on the season with an 8-1 win over West Davidson on Wednesday.
Taylor Freeman, Elizabeth Stroup, Erin Crotts, Sarah Richardson and Katie Wilson won in singles for the Panthers, while Freeman-Stroup, Emma Caroline Russell-Crotts and Richardson-Wilson prevailed in doubles.
Ledford visits Central Davidson on Sept. 3.

HP CENTRAL DEF. WESTERN GUILFORD
HIGH POINT — Charlotte Cain recorded 12 kills and eight digs to spark High Point Central to a 25-12, 25-20, 25-22 victory over Western Guilford on Wednesday.
Ashley McDonald notched 10 kills for the Bison (2-3), while Hayden Harris had 35 assists and Sadie Weston had seven aces.
Central visits T.W. Andrews today at 5 p.m.

WHEATMORE DEF. WEST DAVIDSON
TYRO — Kathryn Johnson recorded 14 kills, seven aces and two digs as Wheatmore beat West Davidson 25-21, 25-12, 25-14 on Wednesday night.
Georgia Garrison notched six kills, four aces and three digs for the Warriors (4-0), while Kelly Davis had 30 assists, four aces and three digs. Davey Albertson tallied five kills and five blocks for Wheatmore, while Allie Grubb had five kills and two blocks.
Wheatmore plays host to East Davidson today.

GREENSBORO – Down 5-4, the doubles team of Eva Ellenburg and Eva Shelton rallied to 8-6 in the deciding match that pushed High Point Central past Western Guilford 5-4 on Tuesday.
Aly Wilcox, Ellenburg and Meredith Field won singles matches for the Bison (2-0). Field and Bailey Weston took a doubles match.

HP CHRISTIAN 5, SW GUILFORD 4
HIGH POINT – High Point Christian Academy took five of six singles matches to edge Southwest Guilford 5-4 on Tuesday at Southwest.
Mariana Gamboa, Madison Yates, Alexa Dickerson, Allie Cole and Lauren Khunly were the singles winners for the Cougars.
Maggie Jermyn won a single match for Southwest, which got doubles wins from Erin Shelton and Jermyn, Hannah Mills and Catherine Jobe, and Grace Anne FLater and Julia Eanes.

BISHOP MCGUINNESS 5, MT. AIRY 4
KERERSVILLE – Anna Petrangeli and Nicole Saia carved out a 10-6 win at No. 3 doubles to help Bishop McGuinness edge Mount Airy on Tuesday.
Kyndall Cortesm Anna Owen, Adaire Hudson and Saia won in singles matches for Villains (2-0)

WESLEYAN DEF. GLENN
HIGH POINT – Wesleyan swept Glenn 25-9, 25-13, 25-11 on Tuesday. Megan Woodward slammed nine kills for the Trojans (6-3).
Wesleyan travels to Charlotte Christian today.

GRIMSLEY DEF. SW GUILFORD
GREENSBORO — Southwest Guilford lost the final two sets in falling 25-14, 21-25, 25-23, 25-22 to host Grimsley on Tuesday.
Bri Burgins had 13 kills for the Cowgirls, while Jordan Richmond added seven kills, and Lizzie Blair had 17 assists and four kills.

RAGSDALE DEF. NE GUILFORD
MCLEANSVILLE – Ragsdale swept host Northeast Guilford 25-10, 25-18, 26-24 in nonconference action Tuesday.
Leaders for the Tigers included Bojo Jada (eight kills, two blocks), Tessa Platek (seven kills, three aces), Kim Pantuso (six kills, two ace s), Mikayla Pettyjohn (six kills, three blocks, two aces).
Ragsdale goes to Grimsley on Thursday.

KERNERSVILLE – Bishop McGuinness opened play in the Northwest 1A Conference with a sweep of Mount Airy on Tuesday.
Leaders for the Villains (4-0) included Julia Brown (13 kills and 3 blocks), Jessica Brandewie (17 assists and 3 aces).

JAMESTOWN – Ebly Sanchez took a pass from Rahul Gupta and scored a goal that gave Ragsdale a 1-1 tie with Grimsley on Tuesday.
Daniel Kanankanui has 11 saves in goal for the Tigers.

AT WINDING CREEK
THOMASVILLE — Ledford posted the top three individual scores to win a four-team nonconference golf match by 30 shots on Monday at Winding Creek Golf Course.
Lexi Kershaw and Meghan Holbrooks both shot 36 while Julia Carroll fired a 39 to lead the Panthers, the reigning state champions. Jordan Young (41), Kelsey Leach (48) and Mary Davis (52) also posted scores.
