Ledford’s Thomas scores 1,00th career point in victory

BASKETBALL

LEDFORD, NORTH FORSYTH
WINSTON-SALEM – Emmalee Thomas scored her 1.000th career point as Ledford’s girls rolled past North Forsyth for an 83-8 Mid-Piedmont 3A Conference win on Tuesday night.
Thomas finished with 21 points for the Panthers, while Jada Bell tallied 15 points and 11 rebounds. Brie Grier had 14 points and six steals and Mackenzie Cranford had nine points, six assists and six steals for Ledford, which led 48-2 at halftime.
Ledford plays host to Asheboro on Friday night.

EAST FORSYTH, GLENN
WINSTON-SALEM – Johnaisha Watson scored 15 of her 16 points in the 2nd half to lead Glenn’s girls to a 53-37 PTC 4A win over East Forsyth on Tuesday.
Deonna Young added 15 points for the Bobcat girls (8-8, 4-1). Dominique Claytor had 13 points, four assists and three steals for Glenn.
Charena Kearns and Ashlyn Jones scored 16 points each to lead East (3-2 conference).

BISHOP, NORTH STOKES
DANBURY – Julia Brown scored 14 of her game-high 19 in the first half including 8 in the first quarter to lead Bishop McGuinness’ girls to a 57-16 Northwest 1A/2A Conference win at North Stokes on Tuesday night.
Alex Putnam added 11 points for the Villains (9-6, 6-2), who used a 23-2 second quarter to take a 33-9 lead at halftime.
North fell to 2-15, 0-9.
Bishop’s boys got 32 points from Kevin Weckworth in a 77-59 win.
Weckworth made 15 of 17 free throws for the Villains (8-6, 4-4). Nick Efird had 15 points and Isaiah Mateen had 13 points for Bishop.
Bishop plays host to South Stokes on Friday.

SW RANDOLPH, SOUTHERN GUILFORD
SUMNER – Jaqwan McCauley poured in 19 points to lead Southern Guilford’s boys to an 83-54 romp past Southwestern Randolph in MPC 3A action on Tuesday night.
Rayshawn Knight added 13 points for the Storm (7-8, 2-0), while Shamar McColl had 11.
Southern visits Northeast Guilford on Friday night.

T.W. ANDREWS, RANDLEMAN
RANDLEMAN – Santia Davis scored 17 points to lead the T.W. Andrews girls to an 85-42 PAC-6 2A win over Randleman on Tuesday night.
Destiny Timberlake, Shamisha Farabee and Imani Watkins added 12 points each for the Red Raiders (14-1, 2-0), who play host to Trinity today.

THOMASVILLE, WEST DAVIDSON
TYRO – Jashana Thomas tallied 15 points and Christina Carter added 13 as the Thomasville girls downed West Davidson 65-47 in CCC 2A play on Tuesday.
Timber Tate had 12 points, 12 rebounds and four steals for the Bulldogs (11-3, 2-1). Thomasville plays host to Salisbury on Friday.

SWIMMING

AT WESLEYAN
HIGH POINT - Wesleyan Christian Academy’s girls and Cannon’s boys posted wins in Tuesday’s swim meet at Wesleyan.
The Trojan girls won 48-46, while Cannon’s boys prevailed 55-35.
For the Trojan girls, Elizabeth Baker won the 200 IM in 2:26.62 and the 500 free in 6:09.59, while Sarah Stahl took the 50 free in 26.69. Morgan Dodson won the 100 breaststroke in 1:22.84, while the Trojans captured the 200 free relay in 1:51.96.
For Wesleyan’s boys, Daiki Nomoto won the 100 back in 1:12.48, while Bailey Edwards took the 100 breast in 1:21.12.
Wesleyan competes Thursday at Salem Academy against Summit, Forsyth Country Day, HP Central and Salem.
