HPCA boys roll into Kreul Classic final
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Mike Kobani’s 20 points powered High Point Christian Academy to a 61-48 victory over National Christian out of Ft. Washington, Md. in the second round of the Kreul Classic on Friday.
Diante Baldwin added 10 points for the Cougars (9-1), who play in the title game today at 9 p.m.
Isaac Fleming led NC with 17 points.
SW GUILFORD BOYS 87, S. GUILFORD 55
KERNERSVILLE – Southwest Guilford’s boys looked just fine on Day 2 of the Kernersville Medical Shootout.
The Cowboys improved to 8-0 on the season with an 87-55 romp past Southern Guilford.
The Storm (4-7) led 19-16 after the first quarter and 36-30 at halftime before Southwest took charge. The Cowboys used a 28-10 third quarter to lead 58-46, then cruised in a 29-9 fourth quarter.
Terrell Leach paced the Cowboys with 32 points, seven rebounds and five steals, while Ben Ferguson contributed 16 points, three boards and two assists and K.J. Langley finished with 11 points, five assists and four steals.
Jaqwan McCauley led the Storm with 21 points.
NEW HOPE CHRISTIAN GIRLS 63, HARDING 31
THOMASVILLE – Paris Johnson recorded 15 points and five steals as the New Hope Christian Academy girls topped Harding 63-31 on Friday night.
Lucky Rudd added nine points for New Hope (10-0), while Kristina King and Sarah Beal finished with eight points each. Beal also dished six assists.
THOMASVILLE 46, WALTON (GA.) 24
WELCOME – Thomasville junior Aaron Reeves notched his 100th career victory to spark the Bulldogs to a 46-24 win over Walton (Ga.) on Friday night at North Davidson High School.
Reeves won by pin at 171 pounds.
The Bulldogs (14-2) also got wins from Quahygee Martin (106, forfeit); Jason Boutsady (113, forfeit); Ahsan Butt (120, pin); Louis Dupree (126, pin); Brett Hokenson (138, technical fall); Lucas Williams (145, decision); Evan Makupson (160, default) and Keith Clemmons (195, decision).
