Bison boys edge Mustangs, 58-53

HIGH POINT – Ahmad Langham scored 15 points to lead High Point Central’s boys to a 58-53 PTC 4A win over Parkland in a game played at SW Guilford on Tuesday night.
Juwam Foggie added 12 points for the Bison (10-10, 4-4), while Jamal Thompson had 11.

MCLEANSVILLE — Emmalee Thomas scored 16 points to lead Ledford’s girls to a 57-17 Mid-Piedmont 3A Conference win on Tuesday night.
Jada Bell added 10 points and seven rebounds for the Panthers. Brie Grier had five steals, four points, four rebounds and four assists for Ledford.

GREENSBORO – American Hebrew Academy’s girls posted a 35-32 win over Westchester Country Day School on Tuesday night. Leigh Tyson led the Wildcats with 14 points, while Kayla Darr had seven and Anna Hood six.
Sarah Cherneup paced AHA with 11 points.

PILOT MOUNTAIN – East Surry’s girls eased past Bishop McGuinness for a 55-52 Northwest 1A/2A Conference win on Tuesday night.
Kerri Fulp led the Cardinal girls (18-4, 10-4) with 14 points. Olivia DeFrancesco paced the Villain girls (12-7, 9-3) with 16 points. Alex Putman added 12 and Cameron Nieters nine. East’s girls swept the regular-season series from Bishop.
Bishop plays host to South Stokes on Thursday.

HIGH POINT – Isiah Gill made seven 3-pointers for 21 points and Mike Kobani added 19 points and seven rebounds as High Point Christian Academy’s boys stopped Calvary 77-56 on Tuesday night.
Joey McLean finished with 11 points for the Cougars (20-5). Malik Wright scored nine points, Chuck Ogbodo had eight and Diante Baldwin notched eight assists, seven boards and four points.
HPCA plays Friday night at Christ School.

WINSTON-SALEM – Marshall Lange tallied 15 points and Jason Ozment added 13 as Wheatmore downed Atkins 54-39 in PAC-6 2A action on Tuesday night.
Madison Fountain netted nine points for the Warriors (16-3, 6-1), while Anthony Harris had seven.
Wheatmore plays host to Trinity on Friday.

SUMNER – Jaqwan McCauley poured in 21 points and Stevon Davis added 17, but Southern Guilford’s boys fell to North Forsyth 88-76 on Tuesday night.
Shamar McColl and Jalen Seegars added 14 points each for the Sgtorm (8-11, 3-3).


HUNTERSVILLE — Bishop McGuinness’ boys placed fourth and the Villain girls took fifth at the NCHSAA 1A/2A Swimming Western Regional Championships held at the Huntersville Family Fitness and Aquatics Center.
The top 12 in each event qualified for Saturday’s NCHSAA 1A/2A state championships at the Triangle Aquatic Center in Cary.
Lake Norman Charter swept the girls and boys team titles. East Davidson’s girls finished 21st as a team.
For the Bishop girls, Erica Justice, Emily Fiore, Colleen Gillooley and Maria Kammire placed sixth in the 200 medley relay in 2:05.26. The Villains’ Bri Eichhorn, Maia Cancro, Carolyn O’Halloran and Kammire took sixth in the 200 free relay in 1:52.74, while Eichhorn, Gillooley, Justice and Fiore were sixth in the 400 free relay in 4:05.03.
Eichhorn bagged eighth in the 100 free in 1:00.23. Fiore placed seventh in the 500 free in 5:53.24 and 11th in the 200 free in 2:11.04. Justice was 11th in the 100 back in 1:07.99.
For the Bishop boys, Grant Davidson, Sean Gorham, Alex Strasser and Daniel Gomez-Perry took sixth in the 200 medley relay in 1:48.26. Soltis, Gomez-Perry, Joseph Farley and Ben Coon placed fifth in the 200 free relay in 1:36.6. Soltis, Farley, Davidson and Coon secured eighth in the 400 free relay in 3:34.26.
Davidson took sixth in the 200 IM in 2:16.42 and sixth in the 100 back in 59.08. Bryan Soltis notched eighth in the 200 free in 1:54.14, while Gorham was seventh in the 100 breast in 1:06.71 and eighth in the 200 IM in 2:17.67 and Strasser was 12th in the 200 IM in 2:28.06. Soltis took seventh in the 100 free in 51.25 with teammate Coon eighth in 51.63.
