SEVENTH-PLACE GAME
THOMASVILLE 59, T.W. ANDREWS 54
HIGH POINT — LaTrelle Skeen scored 11 points while Shakeen Peterson added 10 to help Thomasville outlast Andrews 59-54 on Saturday in the seventh-place boys game of the Sheetz Holiday Christmas Basketball Classic at Southwest Guilford.
Kamel Henry added nine for the Bulldogs, who trailed 25-22 at halftime before outscoring the Red Raiders 17-12 in the third. Chris Eatmon scored 20 points to lead Andrews while Brandon Galloway added 15 followed by Xavier Davis with 13.

FIFTH-PLACE GAME
MYERS PARK 56, WESTCHESTER COUNTRY DAY SCHOOL 45
HIGH POINT — Jake Hackworth scored 23 points to help Myers Park top Westchester Country Day 56-45 in the fifth-place boys game of the Sheetz Holiday Christmas Basketball Classic at Southwest Guilford.
Major Thomas and Clayton Massey each added 14 for Myers Park, which led 30-25 at halftime. Josh Burton scored 17 points to lead the Wildcats followed by Sadeeq Bello with 13 and Justice Cuthbertson with 12.

THIRD-PLACE GAME
SOUTHERN ALAMANCE 59, HP CENTRAL 57
HIGH POINT — Jalen Burnett scored 17 points as Southern Alamance edged High Point Central 59-57 in the third-place boys game of the Sheetz Holiday Christmas Basketball Classic at Southwest Guilford.
Eric Foster added 13 while Jemarcus Shaw and Dariyon Matkins each had 12 for Southern Alamance, which led outscored Central 19-12 in the fourth quarter. Jamal Thompson led the Bison with 17 points, followed by Germaine Pratt and Jafari Quick with eight apiece.

SEVENTH-PLACE GAME
WESTCHESTER COUNTRY DAY SCHOOL 25, HP CENTRAL 14
HIGH POINT — Meghan Ingram scored 14 points to lead Westchester Country Day past High Point Central 25-14 in the seventh-place girls game of the Sheetz Holiday Christmas Basketball Classic at Southwest Guilford.
Leigh Tyson added four points for the Wildcats, who led 13-8 at halftime. Kierra Currie scored seven points to lead the Bison while Qualisha Blakely had four.

FIFTH-PLACE GAME
SOUTHERN GUILFORD 67, CALDWELL 50
HIGH POINT — Hayley Chandler scored 23 points to lead Southern Guilford to a 67-50 win over Caldwell Academy in the fifth-place girls game of the Sheetz Holiday Christmas Basketball Classic at Southwest Guilford.
Aloni McFarland and Kelena Morris each added 13 for the Storm, who outscored Caldwell 40-20 in the second half. Callie Carlson scored 10 points to lead Caldwell while Maria Adams and Lexie Newsome followed with eight.

THIRD-PLACE GAME
T.W. ANDREWS 56, WESLEYAN CHRISTIAN ACADEMY 11
HIGH POINT — Santia Davis scored 12 points as T.W. Andrews rolled to a 56-11 win over Wesleyan Christian in the third-place girls game of the Sheetz Holiday Christmas Basketball Classic at Southwest Guilford.
October Campbell, who was named to the all-tournament team, and Imani Watkins each added nine points for the Red Raiders, who led 18-2 after one quarter and 34-4 at halftime. Jessica Williard led the Trojans with seven points while Holland Robinson and Anna Massey each had two.

ASHEBORO COURIER-TRIBUNE INVITATIONAL
ASHEBORO — Tournament-MVP Lamar Snipes scored 29 points to lead Jordan-Matthews to a 57-49 win over Wheatmore in the title game of the Asheboro Courier-Tribune Invitational on Saturday night.
Madison Fountain led the Warriors with 30 points.
Trinity’s boys downed Eastern Randolph 38-29 in the third-place game. The Bulldogs led 18-10 at halftime.
Earlier Saturday, Asheboro defeated Randleman 47-39 in the fifth-place game and Providence Grove nipped Southwestern Randolph 49-44 in the seventh-place game.

AREA ROUNDUP

HIGH POINT CHRISTIAN ACADEMY BOYS 65, WEBB 52
RALEIGH – Mike Kobani powered for 22 points and 12 rebounds as High Point Christian Academy’s boys topped Webb 65-52 in the third-place game of the High School OT Holiday Invitational Tournament at Raleigh Broughton High on Saturday,
Jackson Kent contributed 11 points and nine rebounds for the Cougars (12-2), while Diante Baldwin notched eight points and six assists. Isiah Gill finished with eight points for HPCA, which plays Thursday at Westchester Country Day School.

BISHOP GIRLS WIN BY FORFEIT
SAN FRANCISCO – The Bishop McGuinness girls netted a 2-0 win by forfeit in the West Coast Jamboree on Saturday when their scheduled opponent, View Park High School from Los Angeles, could not play.
The Villains record moves to 6-3. Bishop plays University High School from Irvine, Calif. on Monday at 1:30 p.m. EST to complete its play in the West Coast Jamboree.

NEW HOPE CHRISTIAN GIRLS 56, ACADEMY OF HOLY CROSS 37
ATLANTA – Ten players scored as the New Hope Christian Academy girls topped Academy of Holy Cross 56-37 late Friday.
Celeste Burgess and Sarah Beal led the Phoenix (13-0) with nine points each. Beal also dished eight assists and recorded four steals. Breahanda Stratton added seven points for New Hope, while Aryn Tarver had six points and six blocked shots.

ANDREWS’ SIMMONS, MCKIVER STAR AT N.C. RUNNERS ELITE INVITATIONAL
WINSTON-SALEM — T.W. Andrews senior Paisey Simmons captured the girls 60-meter dash in 7.71 seconds at the N.C. Runners Elite Invitational on Saturday.
The Red Raiders’ Nora McKiver won the 55-meter hurdles in 8.13 and placed fifth in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.16.
Southwest Guilford’s Hunter Roberts took second in the girls 60-meter hurdles in 8.93.
High Point Central’s Alyiah Riley placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.14.
For Ragsdale’s boys, Xavier Jones won the 300 meters in 35.32.

THOMASVILLE TAKES CHRISTMAS CLASH FOR HUNGER
THOMASVILLE – The host Thomasville Bulldogs captured Saturday’s Christmas Clash For Hunger.
The event raised food collections for area families. Each team brought a box of canned goods and the supplies will be distributed on Monday.
Thomasville defeated East Montgomery 82-0, Anson County 73-6, South Davidson 75-6 and Graham 65-9 in the title match.
Seven Bulldogs posted 4-0 records — Jason Boutsady at 113, Ahsan Butt at 120, Tay Dupree at 126, Corbin Wilson at 132, Luke Williams at 145, Aaron Reeves at 170 and Keith Clemmons at 195.
Four Thomasville wrestlers went 3-0 — Brett Hokenson at 138, Felix Fernandez at 152, Evan Makupson at 160 and Gabe Brockett at 182. T’ville’s Antoine Brenso went 3-1 at 220 pounds.
Thomasville plays host to Central Davidson for its Central Carolina 2A Conference opener on Friday night.

TRINITY PLACES 14TH IN TIGER HOLIDAY CLASSIC
CHAPEL HILL – Trinity’s Chaas Delgado won the heavyweight title to spark the Bulldogs at the Tiger Holiday Classic hosted by Chapel Hill High on Saturday.
Trinity placed 14th as a team. Fayetteville Jack Britt won the crown, followed by Creekside, Ga. and Hillsborough Orange.
Trinity’s Alex Guevara took fifth at 145 pounds, while teammate James Ryan was fifth at 152.
Trinity wrestles at Randleman on Thursday.
