Your View: Synder was right to veto gun bill
Rick Snyder, the governor of Michigan, recently did the right thing by vetoing a bill that would have allowed some people to carry concealed handguns in schools, churches, and day-care centers. No one should be allowed to carry concealed weapons in schools and churches.
On the other hand, Rick Perry, the governor of Texas, did the wrong thing by saying that some people should be allowed to carry concealed guns anywhere they want to.
Some of the people that carry concealed weapons are bullies, cowards and bigots. I don’t think that bullies, cowards and bigots should be allowed to carry concealed weapons unless everyone is allowed to carry concealed weapons. I feel sorry for any man that can’t leave his house without “packing heat.’’ What are these people scared of?
Islamic texts clearly state views
In response to Rev. Joseph Zuschmidt, (Your View, 12-10 “Letter had no redeeming factors”):
According to the Religion of Peace: The Guide to Understanding Islam (http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/Quran/009-friends-with-christians-jews.htm), the response to the question “Are Muslims allowed to make friends with Christians, Jews or other non-Muslims?” pretty much makes the point of my previous submission.
“Unbelievers are described by Muhammad (in the Qur’an) as ‘the vilest of animals’ and ‘losers’. Christians and Jews are hated by Allah to the extent that they are destined for eternal doom as the result of their beliefs. ... In fact, the Qur’an plainly commands believers not to take unbelievers as friends.”
Qur’an (5:51): “O you who believe! Do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.”
From the Hadith: “Some Muslims remained friends with the Jews, so Allah sent down a Qur’an forbidding them to take Jews as friends. From their mouths hatred has already shown itself and what they conceal is worse” – Ishaq 262
There is no turning the other cheek or forgiveness for those who trespass against you in Islam’s holy book. If you want to discuss “redeeming factors” perhaps you should educate yourself on the principles of the Qur’an and it’s teachings. If my previous letter reflects poorly on me, how does the Qur’an reflect on Muslims and their claim to be followers of a “religion of peace”?
Also Rev. Zuschmidt should remember there is this thing called the First Amendment here in the USA, which allows me to express my opinions, as it also allows him to express his. I respect his opinion, and ask that he reconsider my previous submission. My God only hates the sin, not the sinner.
