Your View: Thank you Enterprise for publishing veterans photos

Nov. 26, 2012 @ 01:16 AM

I applaud the High Point Enterprise for publishing pictures of our veterans. I appreciate the sacrifices they made in order for us to enjoy the freedoms that we have. I appreciate the ultimate sacrifice that so many made.
When you meet a veteran thank them for their service, especially our World War II veterans who are slipping from us. Thank you veteran for your service.

Jackson extended liberal hand of magnanimity
I read with interest the recent letter from Andrea L. Jackson (Your View, Nov. 18, America is NOT dead”) in which he bemoans the griping by the right with very colorful word pictures such as “Mitt Romney got his butt handed to him.” And describes the millions of taxpayers who voted for Romney as “drama queens” and “bigots.” But, extending his liberal hand of magnanimity, he then wistfully expressed his hope that there “had been a noble response” instead of the “hate-filled rhetoric” from those who didn’t vote for his candidate.
I congratulate Jackson on the clarity of his position supported by a remarkable vocabulary such as his use of the word “pernicious.” I haven’t even seen that word outside of crossword puzzles in a long time.  However, I would gingerly suggest to Jackson that before he thanks God for sending us the president who firmly supports the killing of unborn babies at any stage of birth, including partial-birth abortions, he may want to consider who else might have been the donor.
