ASHEBORO — Mrs. Patricia Maxine Wilbourne Allen, 76, died Saturday, January 11, 2014.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at Oakhurst Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.

LEXINGTON — Tommy Shaw Clark, Sr. age 79, of  Lexington, died Saturday, January 11. A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 15 at Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ. Davidson Funeral Home Lexington is serving the family.

SOPHIA — Glenda Ree Laster Frazier, age 73, died Saturday, January 11th, at Shannon Gray Center. Funeral plans are pending and will be announced by Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.

Mary Doris Oakley
TRINITY — Mary Doris Younts Oakley 92, formerly of Trinity, died Saturday at Crossroads Retirement Community in Asheboro.  Born August 5, 1921 in Guilford County she is a daughter of the late John Earl Younts and Bessie Cornelison Younts.  She attended Trinity High School and was a hairdresser in the Trinity area and at Cumby Family Funeral Service for many years.  Mrs. Oakley was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Oakley and a great great granddaughter Alexis Loflin.
Mrs. Oakley is survived by three children;  William R. Oakley, Jr and wife Lavonne of Trinity, Gwyn Oakley Lanier and husband Ron of Archdale, Donna Oakley Johnson and husband Chuck of Trinity and four grandchildren; Jeff Oakley and wife Patti, Dale Oakley and wife Lynn, Wendy Lanier Summers and husband Kim and Leah Pless Carter and husband Barry.  She is also survived by eight great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Oakley will be held 11:00 am Wednesday in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale with the Reverend J.C. Alley officiating.  Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park.  The family will greet friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times at the home of her daughter Donna.

LEXINGTON — James Robert “Bob” Paul, 76, of Lexington, died Saturday at Hinkle Hospice Home. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel.

THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Dorothy Jane Hardison Potts, 72, a resident of Brookstone Retirement Center in Lexington, and formerly of Thomasville, died Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the nursing home. A graveside service will be conducted Thursday at 2 PM at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville. The family will receive friends at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville on Wednesday from 6 until 8 PM.

LEXINGTON — Mr. David Russell Rumfelt, Jr., 83, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014 at Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum. Davidson Funeral Home is serving the family.

Marshall Stilwell
THOMASVILLE — Mr. Marshall Glenn Stilwell, 86, a resident of Tower Road, died Saturday, January 11, 2014, at the Henry Etta & Bruce Hinkle Hospice House.  He was born on July 26, 1927 in Davidson County, NC to Glenn Roy Stilwell and Rosa Lewallen Stilwell.  He retired from International Paper/Masonite Corporation.  He was a US Coast Guard/Merchant Marine veteran.  He was a member of First Baptist Church for 75 years, where he was a former deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was an avid sports fan, who loved the Carolina Panthers and NC State Wolfpack.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
On April 30, 1948, he married Peggy Kathleen Hughes, who survives of the home; also surviving are two sons, Michael Glenn Stilwell of Dugspur, VA and Mark Allen Stilwell of Thomasville; two grandsons, Allen Justin (A.J.) Stilwell and Bryson Lee Stilwell and wife Tyler, all of Thomasville; and many nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Hall and Rev. Bynum Orr officiating.  Interment will follow with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.  Mr. Stilwell will remain at the J.C. Donna Whitaker
THOMASVILLE — Ms. Donna Cruthis Whitaker, 55, went to be with her Lord Saturday, January 11, 2014 at High Point Regional Hospital.
Donna was born in Reidsville, November 1, 1958.  A resident of Thomasville most of her life, she was a homemaker and caretaker of anyone in need.  Donna loved her family and listening to Elvis. She was of the Baptist faith.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Edith Monahan Cruthis; two sisters Karen Prater and Betty Jean Cranford, and three brothers, Harold, Little Man, and Jimbo Cruthis.
Surviving are two daughters, Kristy Whitaker and Misty Brown with husband Jeff, both of High Point; three sons, Michael Whitaker, Christopher “Buddy” Whitaker with wife Carrie, both of Archdale and Dawson Cruthis of Thomasville; two sisters, Sandra Ridge and Susan Salas, both of Thomasville; four grandchildren, Noah, Loralei, Sullivan and Maggie.
A Celebration of Donna’s Life will be held Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Davis Funerals and Cremations Chapel by Pastor Stan Lake.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 until the service. Online condolences may be made at davisfuneralsandcremations.com.
