LITTLE RIVER, S.C. — Clarence William “Bill” Clinard, 84, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Lee Funeral Home & Crematory of Little River. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the funeral home.

HIGH POINT — Mr. C. Keith Fleeman, 60, resident of High Point, died Jan. 9, 2014, at High Point Regional Hospital.
Mr. Fleeman was born Sept. 1, 1953, in Guilford County and had been a resident of this area all his life. He earned his master’s degree in computer science and later taught at Catawba College and Davidson County Community College. He also worked with the city of High Point as a systems engineer. He attended Christ United Methodist Church, where he volunteered in support of the food pantry. He also supported Special Olympics. He was an avid golfer, accomplished pianist and a member of the Mensa Society. On Dec. 1, 1991, he married the former Berl Bare, who survives of the residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Hazel Powers.
Also surviving are two daughters, Randi Fleeman of Greensboro and Jennifer Fleeman of Atlanta, Ga; and one granddaughter, Sage Boone of Greensboro.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Christ United Methodist Church with the Rev. Matt S. Farabow officiating. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the church. A private family interment will be held on Monday in Liberty, N.C. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Christ United Methodist Church Food Pantry, 1300 N. Ray Dell Hankins
HIGH POINT —Ray Dell Hankins of 811 Nance Ave., High Point, N.C. passed away Jan. 8, 2014, at Hospice Home of High Point. Ray was born May 30, 1943, in High Point to the late Akers L. and Alma B. Hankins. Surviving are his son, Michael Dale Hankins and wife Beth; grandson, Michael Dale Hankins Jr.; brothers Harold Hankins and wife Marilyn, Eugene Hankins and wife Savannah; sister, Shelby Benson and husband Willie; sisters-in-law, Nancy Hankins and Kat Hankins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Junior Hankins and Wesley Hankins.
Ray was a truck driver for Stylette Furniture for many years and later peddled furniture. He enjoyed fishing and working on automobiles and trucks.
The family will receive visitors beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, and a memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. at Crossover Community Church, 723 Knightdale Ave., High Point, NC 27262.
LEXINGTON — Clifford Jones, 59, of Lexington died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.
Funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Madison Heights Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held 1:30-3 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Willa Mae Harris Lambeth
THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Willa Mae Harris Lambeth, 93, a resident of 1092 Johnsontown Road, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at her residence. She was born in Davidson County, July 17, 1920, a daughter of William V. Harris and Alma Lookabill Harris, and she was a lifelong resident of Davidson County. She graduated from Davis-Townsend School and Ashmore Business College. She was a former employee of the Smith Clinic and had retired from the Davidson County Health Department in 1983 following 30 years of service. In 1964 she received a Davidson County Medical Certificate Award for her outstanding contributions in the fight against polio. She had been a member of Johnsontown United Methodist Church for over 60 years and was a member of the church Sunday school and a former church secretary. She was awarded the honor of 2013 Lay Person of the Year by the church for her dedicated service through the years. She was a member of the Thomasville Woman’s Club and a member of the N.C. Governmental Retirees Association. On Nov. 9, 1940, she was married to Paul Edward Lambeth, who died Dec. 9, 2007. She was also preceded in death by a son, Tony Edward Lambeth; sisters, Virginia Page and Maxine Conrad; and by a brother, the Rev. Luther Harris. Surviving are a son, Michael S, Lambeth and his wife Carolyn of Kannapolis, N.C.; three grandchildren, Monica Mitre and her husband Ramon, Noelle Legereit and her husband Danny and Misha Diden and her husband Nick, all of Austin, Texas; eight great-grandchildren, Andres Mitre, Sofia Mitre, Ian Mitre, Nicholas Lambeth, Luke Gonzales, Elijah Gonzales, Tessa Diden and Miles Diden. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at 2 p.m. at J.C. Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville by the Rev. Eric Lineberry and the Rev. Jenna Grogan. Burial will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 1 until 2 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Johnsontown United Methodist Church, 1057 Johnsontown Road, Thomasville, NC 27360 or to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292. LEXINGTON — Delk Fremont Mendenhall Jr., 60, died Jan. 8, 2014, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.

LEXINGTON — James B. “Jim” Swing, 82, of Lantern Lane, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at Rowan Regional Medical Center after a short illness.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday at First Reformed United Church of Christ. Visitation will follow the service in the sanctuary.

THOMASVILLE — Myrtle Lucille Grubb Ferguson, 93 died on January 9, 2014 at Pine Ridge Nursing Home in Thomasville. Arrangements are pending with Thomasville Funeral Home.
HIGH POINT –Ms. Dorothy Louise Boone, 43, of 506 Woodrow Avenue, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at High Point Regional Hospital with her family by her side. She was born October 23, 1970, to the late Junior Boone, Sr. and Pearlie Outlaw Boone. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Boone; one sister, Patricia Coleman and two nephews, Miquel Canales and Nolan Boone.
Dorothy touched so many lives and spread joy to everyone who had the pleasure of being around her. She was a blessing to her family and she will continue to stay in our hearts. God needed another angel and decided to call her home. Dorothy’s pride and joy were her grandchildren and her special niece, Heaven Boone.
Those left to cherish her memories are her partner of 20 years, Glenn McGee of the home; two children, Amber and Matthew Boone of the home; one step daughter, Shawna McGee; six grandchildren, Payton, Aubree, Kenadee, Coleman, Landin and Destiny; six sisters, Diane (Brian Parrish) Sparks, Melissa (Rodney) Hedrick, Delores (Jeff) Vail, Cathy (Luis) Canales; four brothers, Junior Boone, Jr., Reece (Shawna McGee) Boone, Rodney Boone and Christopher (Lavonda) Boone and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held today, January 11, 2014, at 4 p.m. at Allen Jay Baptist Church, 1100 E. Fairfield Rd. The family will receive friends at the church from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m.

James Robert Owens
ARCHDALE — James Robert Owens, 73, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at the Hospice Home at High Point. He was the loving husband of Nellie Vivian (Anderson) Owens to whom he was married to for 45 years.
Mr. Owens was born on November 24, 1940, in Stewart, Virginia a son of the late James Vester and Emma Lou (Collins) Owens. He was a former employee for Woodmark Originals for over 15 years until his retirement.
In his spare time he enjoyed repairing lawnmowers.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Owens is survived by a sister, Ruby Kelly of Fieldale, Virginia; a brother, Carl Lee Owens, Sr. and his wife, Reva of Archdale; six nephews, Randy Owens and his wife, Dorothy, Jerold Owens and his wife Mary Alice, Jeffrey Owens and his wife, Teresa, Carl L. Owens, Jr. and his wife, Lisa, Larry Padgett and his wife, Angela, and Neil Goins and his wife, Sheila; a great niece, Heather Owens; a great nephew, Matthew Owens, and a step great nephew, Robert Howard. He was preceded in death by a sister Gracie Marie Padgett, and a brother, Walter Lee Owens.
A celebration of life service will be 4 p.m. Sunday, January 12, 2013, at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, 206 Trindale Road, Archdale with the Rev. Chester Pope of Vickery Baptist Church officiating. A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home and all other times at the residence of Carl and Reva Owens, 406 Eden Terrace, Archdale. Burial will be 1 p.m. Monday, January 13, 2014, at Collinstown Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 2868 Collinstown Road, Westfield, NC 27053.
