Henry McDaniel
HIGH POINT — Henry Delton McDaniel, 59, of Paso Robeles, California, died Sunday, September 8th, 2013. Henry was born in High Point, NC to Loyd and Barbara McDaniel who preceded him in death as well as sister, Claudette Thompson and brother Pete McDaniel. Surviving daughter, Kira Hill, grandson, Brandon Hill, brother, Pat McDaniel, sisters Chris Wallace, Mary Kennedy and Betty Culbreth.
Family & Friends will be gathering to celebrate Henry’s life on Saturday, September 14th, 4-6 p.m. at New Life Family Church, 6701 Ken Coy Road, Jamestown, N.C.

Harold Diehl Chapman
COLFAX – Mr. Harold Diehl “Chip” Chapman, age 98, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2013, at High Point Regional Hospital.  A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 15, 2013, at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, in High Point.  Reverend Sara Palmer will officiate.
Mr. Chapman was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey to the late Harold Clifford Chapman and Caroline Diehl Chapman.  He was an Executive with the Mobil Oil Company.  As a Circumnavigator, Mr. Chapman circled the globe many times.   He and his lovely wife, Mimi Ware Chapman, moved to Colfax from Litchfield Park, Arizona. As a man of action, his favorite times were spent playing golf with his friends. 
Those left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 73 years,  Mimi Chapman, two daughters, Judith Chapman Harron and husband, Arthur, of Greensboro, Christina Chapman Fowler and husband Burton of Boca Raton, Florida;  grandchildren,  Kelly Harron Albright and husband James of Greensboro, Kevin Chapman Harron and wife, Catherine of High Point, Gregory Michael Harron and wife Sarah of Greensboro, Marcus Chapman Fowler and wife, Zarya of Silver Springs, Maryland, and Caroline Fowler Myers and husband Stephen of Langhorne, Pennsylvania; and 12 great grandchildren.

Howard Patzer
ARCHDALE —Mr. Howard (Pat) Albert Patzer Sr., 77, resident of Archdale, died September 10th, 2013 at Hospice Home in High Point.
Mr. Patzer was born July 14th, 1936, in St. Petersburg, FL, a son to the late Albert and Lillie Anderson Patzer.  He retired from Boylston Auto Body in Boston, MA and moved to this area in 1998.  In 1956 he married the former Patricia (Pat) Ann Bailey who survives of the residence.
Also surviving are six children, Howard A. Patzer Jr. and wife Cheryl of North Attleboro, MA, Yvonne Rego and husband Rick of Randleman, John Patzer and wife Lai of Williston, VT, Steven Patzer and wife Kelly of Reidsville, Robert Patzer and fiancée Jennifer Thaler of Los Angeles, CA and Wanda Shutt and husband Robert of Archdale; seven grandchildren, Johnny, Diana, Kyle, Kory, Zachary, Julia and Jacob; and three great-grandchildren, Mercedes, Michael and Starr.  Pat was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.
Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Friday at Lutheran Church of Our Father in Greensboro, where he was a member, with Pastor Judy Copeland officiating.  Visitation will be from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Friday at the church.  Memorials may be directed to Lutheran Church of Our Father, 3304 Groometown Rd. Laurrissa J. Armstrong
GREENSBORO - Laurrissa Jones Armstrong, 62, passed away on September 7, 2013 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC. She was born March 8, 1951, in Pleasant Garden, N.C. to the late Jerry Lawrence Jones and Josephine Moore Jones.
Laurrissa was an alumna of James B. Dudley High School and North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University in Greensboro, N.C. She worked as a seamstress at Jones Fur in Greensboro, NC before beginning her teaching career in 1996 with the Guilford County School System. Since 1999, Laurrissa served as a Career and Technical Education teacher at Welborn Academy of Science and Technology in High Point, NC.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing and being with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memories are her three sons, Christopher Armstrong, Spencer Armstrong and Jason Armstrong all of Greensboro, N.C; her brother, Jerry Jones, Jr. of Greensboro, NC; four grandchildren, Ariyon Morhead, Cameron Armstrong, Christopher Armstrong II and Brandon Armstrong; aunt, Ozzie Pankie of Greensboro, NC; nieces, Chandra Jones-Williams and Laura Jones; cousins, Loretta (Ron) Galloway, Diane Pankey, Christine Moore, Eugene Moore; Bestfriend/”sister”, DeLaine White (Bernard); god daughters, Terri White-Harris, Alicia White-Williams and Nia White; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 13, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial C.M.E. Church, 3400 Triangle Lake Rd, High Point, N.C. Entombment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.

Mavis Causby
HIGH POINT — Mrs. Mavis Walker Causby, 90, a resident of High Point, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013.
She was born on February 16, 1923, in Edgecombe County, N.C. to the late Alline Bryant Walker and Ashley Walker and had been a resident of High Point most of her life.  Mrs. Causby worked for Oakdale Cotton Mill as the secretary to the CEO and retired after twenty-five years of service.  She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.  She enjoyed reading, cooking and watching “Jeopardy.”  In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her husband of 68 years, Charles Causby, two sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by her daughters Melinda Canipe and her husband Michael of Melville, NY, and Janine Roberts and her husband Donald of Fairburn, GA, her granddaughter Kelly Freda and her husband Joseph of West Hartford, CT, her great grandchildren Elizabeth, Harrison, and Abigail Freda.
A service to celebrate Mrs. Causby’s life will be held on Saturday at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point with Pastor Alex Poindexter and Pastor J.C. Alley officiating. Mary Ruth Hill
LEXINGTON — Mrs. Mary Ruth Johnson Aderhold Hill, 85, a resident of Carolina House went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Carolina House.   She was born on June 8, 1928, in Davidson County to Marcellus Elliott Johnson and Alice Myers Johnson.  She retired from Marsh Furniture Company.  She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, where she was a faithful member of the choir, the Mary Ruth Sink Sunday School Class, the Sixty Plus Club and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. One of her favorite hobbies was sharing the love of Jesus through her doll ministry and went to several area churches to share it.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Leonard Aderhold in 1987 and her second husband of 4 years, Paige Hill; son, Sam Aderhold; sisters, Roberta Kennedy, Ruby Goodwin, and Lois Cecil; and brother, John David Johnson.
Surviving are her son, Doug Aderhold and wife Gail of Winston-Salem; brother, Kirby Johnson and wife Marie of Thomasville; sisters, Betty Hilton of Thomasville, Shirley Lawing and husband Bo of Denton, Rachel Pruitt of Thomasville, and Linda Hardison and husband Ronnie of High Point; sister-in-law, Shirley Payne Johnson of High Point; family friend, Roger; two grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 13, 2013, at 4 p.m. at Zion United Church of Christ with Rev. James Simonds officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Friday from 3:00 – 3:45 p.m. at the church and at other times at the home of Doug and Gail, 140 Emily Ann Dr. Winston-Salem.  Mrs. Hill will remain at the J.C.
