Dewitt Clinton Schreiner
HIGH POINT — Dewitt Clinton Schreiner, 94, former resident of High Point Manor, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2013, at the Hospice of the Piedmont Home. He was born in LaSalle, Illinois, on May 21, 1919, to William Henry and Denise Yerly Schreiner. Mr. Schreiner served in the U.S. Navy for seven years before and during World War II. The most vivid memories of his older years were of his times served in the South Pacific during the war. He was honored to go on a “Flight of Honor” trip to Washington, DC in 2011.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Fordham Schreiner, whom he married September 6, 1950. Surviving are his son, John Phillip Schreiner (Denise) of Klamath Falls, Oregon, and daughter, Martha S. Fulp (Ken) of High Point and grandchildren Josie Fulp Shoffner (Jamath), Dr. Kathryn Fulp Lawrence (Josh) and Samuel Fulp. Also surviving are great-grandchildren Zeil, Zade and Ziah Shoffner and Luke Lawrence. Funeral arrangements will be handled by Hodges-Moore Funeral Services of Statesboro GA. KERNERSVILLE — Charles Alfred (Charlie) Hayworth, 72 of Curry Rd. died Sunday September 8, 2013.
Charlie was born in Guilford County, August 10, 1941, a son of the late Harvey Lee Hayworth and Elva Moore Hayworth. Charlie was a retired carpenter and of a veteran of the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents Harvey Hayworth and Elva Hayworth Ward, brother, Ronnie Hayworth and a sister, Ruby Jane Hayworth.
Surviving are one daughter, Melanie Hayworth-Wyant (Scott) of Dallas, NC and one son, Charles Andrew (Drew) Hayworth of Winston-Salem; two grandchildren, Matthew and Emily Wyant. Two sisters, Gladys Long (Johnny) and Joan Johnson (Donald) both of High Point.
Graveside services for Charlie will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. J. Albert Leath, Jr. officiating. Charlie will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home (Wallburg Chapel) 10310 N. NC Hwy. 109 Winston Salem and the family will be at the funeral home Tuesday, September 10, 2013, from 6 until 8 p.m.

LEXINGTON — Mrs. Billie Smith Harville, 84, a resident of Jolly Rd., died Sunday, September 08, 2013, at her home.
Billie was born August 15, 1929, in Davidson County, NC a daughter of the late John Smith and Tura Summey Smith. She had been a resident of this area all of her life and was retired from Rice Hosiery. In addition to working she was known for always keeping an immaculate home at all times. She was a second generation member of Carolina Memorial Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and enjoyed singing in the choir. She also stayed active with the senior citizens as often as she could and had a true love for her horses. She was married to Bobby Gene Harville on December 22, 1951, who preceded her death. Billie was also preceded in death by her parents; and her brother; Donald Smith and her sister; Carolyn Coggin.
Surviving is her daughter; Cathy H. Jarrett and husband Jim of Lexington, NC (Silver Valley community) and a grandson; Dennis C. Jarrett and his wife Kira of Thomasville. The family would like to send a special thanks to Joy Martin for all her love and support during the care of Billie.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in J. C. Green & Sons Chapel with Rev. Bynum Orr officiating. Burial will follow in the Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions are made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, N.C. 27292.

LEXINGTON — Robert (R.G.) Daniels, Jr., 92, died Sept. 8, 2013. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Forest Hill Memorial Park. Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington, is handling arrangements.
THOMASVILLE — Ivan Wray Coleman, 76, died Sept. 5, 2013, at his residence.

CONCORD — William Edward Mitchell, 67, of died Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at Hospice and Palliative Care, Kannapolis. Lamb Funeral Home of Concord is assisting the family. Burial will be at Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Salisbury on Friday.

Patricia Jane Craven Brown
THOMASVILLE —Patricia Jane Craven Brown, age 74, of Thomasville passed away September 7, 2013, in the Hospice Home at High Point.
Patricia was born in High Point to Alva Roosevelt and Grace Josephine Ledwell Craven on May 9, 1939. She was owner and operator of Pat’s Catering Company and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. On January 1, 2001, she married Billy L. Brown who survives of the residence.
Also surviving are two sisters: Betty Freeman of High Point and Barbara Sutton of Lexington; and five brothers: Bud, Bobby, Butch, and Terry Craven of High Point and Albert Craven of Thomasville.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Sechrest Funeral Chapel in High Point by the Reverend Rick Shoemaker. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. prior to the service.

THOMASVILLE — Ernest “Ernie” Shelton King, 61, of Thomasville, died Sunday, September 8, 2013.
He was born on August 24, 1952, in Kentucky, to the late Jack and Marcille Kirk. Ernie and family moved to the Piedmont area shortly after his birth, where he spent his entire life.
Ernie retired from the City of High Point after 18 years of service. He enjoyed antiques, fishing and listening to 60’s rock and roll music. Above everything else Ernie loved his family and his children.
Ernie is preceded by his first wife, Mae King of 28 years, his father and mother, Jack and Marcille Kirk, brother-in-law Ron Parris and nephew Andy Kirk.
Surviving Ernie is his wife Charlene King of the home, also son Matt King and wife Mandy of Thomasville, daughter, Tina Dye and husband Dale of Quinton, VA., stepson, James Towler; grandson, Matt King Jr.; and granddaughter, Alona Towler, both of Thomasville. Ernie also is survived by brothers and sisters; Roger Kirk and wife Brenda of Sophia, sister Rita Anglin of Waynesville, Jason Kirk and wife Irene and Darlene Parris both of Archdale, David Kirk and wife Annette of Marshall, Paul Kirk and wife Michelle of Asheboro; his uncle Donald Stepp and wife, Carol of Lexington; also several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to be held Tuesday, September 10 , 2013, at 7 p.m. at Smyrna Grove Community Church, 1275 Back Creek Road, Asheboro, North Carolina. Service will be led by Ernie’s nephew, Paul Kirk , II. The family will receive guests one hour prior to the service at the church.

THOMASVILLE — Elaine Dru Smith Marlowe , 88, died Sept. 8, 2013.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Rich Fork Baptist Church Cemetery in Thomasville.
HIGH POINT —Mrs. Ruby Hiatt Hulin, 99, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013, at Westchester Manor.
Ruby was born in High Point, April 21, 1914, a daughter of Reuben and Elma Anthony Hiatt. She retired from Drexel Heritage and was of the Methodist faith. She loved her family, had a wonderful sense of humor, enjoyed gardening , fishing at the beach and Las Vegas. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Robert P. Hulin; a daughter, Myrna Hulin; siblings, Ruth Totten, Bud Hiatt, Mary Ellen Hiatt, Elma “Tommie” Edwards.
Surviving are a daughter, Anne Edwards; two granddaughters, Debra (Gary) Wyatt and Dana (Greg) James; five great-grandchildren, Curtis and Christopher Wyatt, Taylor, Tanner and Tucker James; four great-great-grandchildren, Braden and Abigail Wyatt , Gwen and Logan Wyatt; two sisters, Catherine Grayson and Carolyn Kirkman.
A Celebration of Ruby’s Life will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the Davis Funerals and Cremations Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service. FUQUAY-VARINA—Regina Ann “Jeanie” (Ingold) Terrell, 70, passed away Friday, September 6, 2013, with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of Richard Grover Terrell to whom she was married to for 53 years on June 26.
Mrs. Terrell was born on March 3, 1943, in High Point, a daughter of the late Terry Delorian and Doris V. (Culler) Ingold. She was the former Accounting Manager for Piedmont Heating and Air for over 25 years until her retirement.
Jeanie enjoyed traveling to the beach and mountains, cooking, and gardening. But most of all, her family was her joy in life. They meant everything to her, and she in return meant everything to them. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She was a former member of Archdale United Methodist Church, and a current member of First United Methodist Church in Fuquay-Varina.
In addition to her husband, Jeanie is survived by a son, Richard Brian Terrell and his wife, Pamela of Fuquay-Varina; two daughters, Kimberly Roseman and her husband, Clif of Fuquay-Varina; and Ashley Christine Rogers and her husband, Mark of Raleigh; three grandchildren, Joshua B. Roseman of Fuquay-Varina, Megan Breanne Terrell of Fuquay-Varina, and Abigail LeeAnn Rogers of Raleigh; a brother, Dale D. Ingold and his wife, Debra of Cary; a sister, Terry I. Gates of Trinity; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of life service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at Cumby Family Funeral Service, 206 Trindale Road, Archdale, with Rev. Harold Shives officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Fuquay-Varina.
