William W. Bishop III
TRINITY — William W. “Bill” Bishop III, loving husband, father, brother, uncle, PawPaw and caring friend, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013. He was born in South Boston, Va., on Nov. 10, 1959, to the late Bill and Marjorie Bishop. Bill is survived by his wife, Emily; children, Shannon May (Matt), Elizabeth (Taylor) and Will; grandchildren, Kyler, Kayleigh, Mayson and Leena; sister, Allyson Atkinson (Tim); niece, Rachel Atkinson and nephew, Sam Atkinson.
Bill’s love of cooking led him to a career in the industry. He was currently employed by Above & Beyond Catering. Bill loved his family and friends and will be deeply missed by all.
The family will receive friends Sunday, Sept. 15 at 2:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall, Vickrey United Methodist Church; 5348 Vickrey Chapel Road, Greensboro, N.C.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Marshall “Dickie” Boles Jr.
THOMASVILLE — Mr. Marshall “Dickie” Boles Jr., 84, resident of Thomasville, died Sept. 11, 2013, at Pine Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Boles was born July 14, 1929, in Davidson County, N.C., a son to the late Marshall Boles and Daisy Clodfelter Boles. He retired from Thomasville Veneer Company in 1982. In 1947 he married the former Hazel Bowles, who resides at Pine Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Also surviving are three children, Terry Boles and wife Carolyn of Thomasville, N.C., Debra Carver and husband Barry of Erwin, Tenn., Sherri Rogers and husband Greg of Atlanta, Ga.; six grandchildren, Lisa, Michelle, Sandy, Jake, Mariah and Jeremy; and three great-grandchildren, Adam, Jordan and Jack. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Hillside Park Baptist Church, 7593 E. Holly Grove Road, Thomasville, N.C., where he was a member, with Dr. Steve Chips and the Rev. Terry Boles officiating. Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. Interment will follow the service at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.

James Franklin Cox
HIGH POINT — James Franklin Cox, a Pulaski, Va., native, died Sept. 11, 2013, at Hospice Home of High Point, N.C. He was 70 and had been battling cancer for two years.
Jim was a 1961 graduate of Pulaski High School and attended Virginia Southern Business College in Roanoke, Va. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles P. “Mike” and Virginia Cox, and his first wife, Janice Jones Cox, all of Pulaski.
Surviving are his wife, Barclay A. Cox of High Point, N.C.; two daughters, Emily Cox Deal (Brian) of Watkinsville, Ga., and Kim Cox Anderson (Tom) of Tega Cay, S.C.; four grandchildren, Ginny and Robert Deal, both also of Watkinsville, and Nicole and Mitchell Anderson, both also of Tega Cay.
Family members and close friends described Jim as “a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who loved to hunt, fish, and spend time at Claytor Lake.”

HIGH POINT — James Jackson Davis, 69, Sept. 5, 2013, as the result of a car accident.
Graveside service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Floral Garden Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Floral Garden Chapel of Memories Mausoleum Saturday from 1:30 until 2 p.m. Davis Funerals and Cremations is serving the family.
ARCHDALE — Pauline Marie Freedle Everhart, 89, of North Pointe Assisted Living, formerly of Welcome Bethesda Road, died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at High Point Regional Hospital.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Davidson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Joan Thacker Gravley
HIGH POINT — Mrs. Joan Thacker Gravley, 80, passed away Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at Beacon Place.
Joan was born in High Point, Dec. 12, 1932, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Lola Stephenson Thacker. She served in the Guilford and Wake County court system in domestic court and later as clerk of Superior Court. Joan then began a career with Combined Insurance Co. of America, being the first woman to become the number one sales agent and a district manager. She was a longtime member of Shining Light Baptist Church. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Gravley; a son, Ronald K. Byerly; and two brothers, Robert and Lewis Thacker.
Surviving are a daughter, Cindy Joan Hassan, and husband Abed; two sons, Ken Key and wife Connie and Don Byerly Jr.; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren; a nieces and two nephews.
Graveside service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Floral Garden Memorial Park by the Rev. Steve Whitt. The family will receive friends at Davis Funerals and Cremations Sunday from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Shining Light Baptist Church or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro. Hubert Dee Ingram
STAR — Hubert Dee Ingram, 67, of 155 Second St., Star, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at his residence.
Graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sep.r 14, 2013, at Acorn Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, Robbins, N.C., with the Rev. Martin E. Davis officiating.
Mr. Ingram was born in Montgomery County to Henry Clay and Beulah Johnson Ingram. He was a truck driver.
Mr. Ingram was predeceased by wives Faye George Ingram and Janett VonCannon Ingram and by his twin brother, Hugh Lee Ingram.
Surviving are: son Roger Ingram, Georgia; daughter Paula Bruce, Biscoe, N.C.; mother Beulah Ingram, Biscoe, N.C.; brothers Wayne Ingram, Biscoe, N.C., Kenneth Ingram, Thomasville, N.C., David Ingram, Star, N.C.; sisters Brenda Owens, Mt. Gilead, N.C., Dorothy Greene, Star, N.C., Sue Smith, Iowa; three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home of David and Tammy Ingram, 125 King St., Star.
ARCHDALE — James “Jim” Meyerhoeffer, 80, of Archdale died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013.
A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale. Interment follows in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1:15-2:45 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

HIGH POINT — Mrs. Cathleen Ratliff, 82, died on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at Hospice Home at High Point.
Cathleen was born on May 13, 1931, to the late Ward F. Young Sr. and Ada Shaw Young in Montgomery County, N.C. She has been a resident of High Point for over 54 years. Coming from a large family, she loved providing and loving others. The grandchildren always had a special place in her heart. She enjoyed singing gospel music, family gatherings and her flowers.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Ratliff Jr.; sons, Jimmy and Michael; daughter, Kathy; brothers, William and David; sisters, Lula, Clara and Sarah.
Surviving relatives include sons, Johnny (Janice), Tommy (Rebecka), Robert (Sandra), Tony and James; daughters, Sally and Mary; sisters, Pathine, Willie, Geneva and Ada; brothers, Ward (Lila), Henry (Sarah), Paul (Debra), and Troy (Veronica); a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Brenda S. Robinson
HIGH POINT — Brenda Sue Robinson, 54, passed on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at High Point Regional Hospital. She was born on April 5, 1959, in Union County, N.C., to Betty Jordan-Robinson and the late Olin T. Robinson. She was preceded in death by one brother, Dennis Robinson.
Brenda graduated from T. Wingate Andrews High School in 1977. Brenda was always a hard worker and was employed in the Furniture Industry.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her mother, Betty Robinson of the home; two brothers, Randy (Michelle) Robinson of High Point, N.C., Harold (Alice) Robinson of Atlanta, Ga.; one sister, Betty Jean (Herbert) Green of High Point, N.C.; and a host nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 1:30 p.m. until 2 p.m.

DENTON — Judd Russell, 92, of Crow Creek Road in Denton passed away Sept. 11, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann Russell. He is survived by his son, Joe Russell and his girlfriend Kim Grice of Lexington; a grandson Branson Russell and his wife Amanda, and their three children, which are Judd’s great-grandchildren, Nick, Natalie and Nathan Russell of Crow Creek Road in Denton, and granddaughter Joey Russell and her son, Hunter Stevenson.
A private service was requested by other family members for Thursday Sept. 12, 2013, with the burial to follow immediately after. On behalf of Joe Russell, we the family regret there will not be a viewing for the public. Judd was lifelong member of the community with many, many friends whom he had hunted and worked with over the years. He was an avid hunter and actively did so until the last couple of years. Please accept our apologies as this was not our decision for the viewing to be private. Burial was at New Hope Methodist Church at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013.

Larry E. Smith, 69, passed at High Point Regional Hospital on Thursday Sept. 5, 2013. He is survived by his fiance of the home, Joyce Damron; daughter Jeannine Smith of Lexington, N.C., son Larry E. Smith Jr. of Wilson, N.C., stepdaughter Mitzi Damron, brother Glenn Smith of Lexington, N.C., sister Lillamae Haney of Thomasville, N.C. HIGH POINT— Zayveon Jeremiah Stotts, son of Ellis Stotts and Kierra Henderson, departed this life on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at High Point Regional Hospital. He was born on April 16, 2013.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his parents, five sisters, one brother, grandparents, great grandmother and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Charles “Charlie” Wheeler
Charles “Charlie” Wheeler went home to see our Father on Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at the young age of 31. He was born in Egg Harbor City, N.J.
Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was diligently working towards releasing his first album.
Those left behind to cherish his memories are his mother, Yonner Wheeler of New Jersey, and father, Charles Jeffrey Brown of New Jersey; stepfather, Kevin Danner of New Jersey; children, Cah-li and Yamir Wheeler of New Jersey, Alaina Wallace of Virginia and Saniyah Bryant of North Carolina; his fiancee, Michelle Wesley and her daughters, Kalaya Wesley and Ariyanah Gainey whom he loved as his own of North Carolina; a brother, Durell Danner of New Jersey; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews of New Jersey and Georgia. Others very dear to his heart that he spent time with or spoke to everyday of his joyous life are, Nicole Bryd, Steven Bryd, Kendrick Rolls and Carl Ford.
Home-going service will be held 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at New Bethel Baptist Church, 1116 Montlieu Ave. Family visitation will begin at 11 a.m. at the church.
