Frances W. Hunt
ASHEBORO — Frances Louise Walker Hunt, 86, died Aug. 1, 2013.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at Mt. View Independent Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Ridge Funeral Home.
LEXINGTON — Jeffery “Sleepy” Wayne Varner, 52, died July 31, 2013, at Hinkle Hospice Home. A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Community Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at J. C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville.
Lee Roy Watford
THOMASVILLE — Mr. Lee Roy Watford, 96, a resident of Denton Road, died Thursday, August 1, 2013 at the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. He was born February 4, 1917, in Davidson County, a son of John Raymond Watford and Mary Lillie Hepler Watford. Mr. Watford was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during World War II. He was a retired employee with Cliff Brower Construction. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Martin and brothers, Carl Watford, Austin Watford, Dalton Watford, J.R. Watford, Jr. and S.C. Watford.
On April 10, 1962, he was married to Hannah Hepler, who survives of the home. Also surviving are a special nephew Jeff Watford and his wife Brenda and other nieces and nephews, Danita Gordon and husband Mike, Lorie Brooks and husband Danny, Gary Watford, Nancy Woods and husband Harold and John Martin; and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 3, 2013, at 2 p.m. in Liberty Baptist Church, with Rev. Jim Hepler officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
Mr. Watford will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home until taken to the church thirty minutes prior to the church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6 to 8 P.M. and other times at the home.

THOMASVILLE — Mr. Larry Bowman, 61, a resident of Thomasville, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Stokes County on August 26, 1951, to Raleigh Raymond Bowman and Mary Shelton Bowman. He was a painter and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Judy Hood; and two brothers, Gary and Jerry Bowman.
He is survived by one daughter, Misty Supplee and husband Ron of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister, Brenda Bennett and husband Bill of Wilmington, NC; three brothers, Donnie Bowman and wife Faye of Tobaccoville, Timothy Bowman of High Point, and Terry Bowman of Thomasville; and three grandchildren, Tyler, Madison, and Matthew of Fort Worth, Texas.

THOMASVILLE — Mattie Varner Hunt, 83, of Mountain Vista Health Park of Denton, died Aug 1, 2013. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at J. C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
OAK RIDGE - Cheryl Luke, 58, died July 31, 2013. There will be no service at this time. Cremation services have been entrusted to Triad Cremation Society & Chapel.

LEXINGTON — George Wesley Wynn, 72, died Aug. 2, 2013, at home.
A Service of Celebration will be held at. 1 p.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be in the fellowship hall following the service. Davidson Funeral Home is serving the family.
