Glenda Dorene Darr Bean
HIGH POINT — Mrs. Glenda Dorene Johnson Darr Bean, age 76, passed away April 9, 2014, in the Hospice Home at High Point. Funeral serivces will be private. Sechrest Funeral Service is assisting her family.
HIGH POINT — Willis M. Brickhouse, 78, of High Point, died Tuesday, April 8, 2014. He was born October 17, 1935, to Reba and Mark Brickhouse. He graduated from Wake Forest University in 1957 and was in the insurance industry for 47 years.
Surviving are his wife, Joanne, his sons, Jeffrey (Judy) of Amarillo, Texas, and Brian (Tina) of Raleigh, a sister, Betty Farless of Roanoke Rapids, and three grandsons, Nate, Chris and Matt. TRINITY — Arnold Lynwood English, 73, of Trinity, died Tuesday at Westchester Manor. Born August 15, 1940, in St. Paul, Minnesota. He is a son of the late Gilbert Raymond English and Zeola Sikes English. He taught for 32 years at GTCC in the business department. Mr. English was a devout Christian man and a lifelong member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church. He was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed being outdoors and baseball. He will be remembered as a “man of wit.”
Mr. English is survived by his wife Patricia “Pat” Hughes English of the home and two children, Gilbert “Bert” English and wife, Sandy, of Trinity, and Brian Lynwood English of Trinity. Also surviving are cousins Bleeka Comer of Trinity and Larry Peace. Family and friends are invited to interment services for Mr. English at 10:45 a.m., Saturday, in Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. in the church. The family will receive friends following the memorial service.
Ellis Whitt, Bill Hayworth, Ken Vaughn, Shane Sample, Mike Reynolds, Travis Hill, Kemp Plummer, Keith Huynh, Darren Pierce, Kevin Johnson and David Caryk, Sandy’s brother, will serve as honorary pallbearers. Teddy Michael Hill
SOPHIA — Mr. Teddy Michael Hill, 51, resident of Sophia, died April 9, 2014, at the Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Mr. Hill was born November 13, 1962, to the late Ted O. and Joan D. Hill. On December 3, 1982, he was married to Cynthia Anderson Hill, who survives of the home. Mr. Hill was a truck driver for many years and was a carpenter by trade. Mr. Hill and his wife were members of New Day Church in High Point for many years. Mr. Hill was the father of three daughters, the late Elisha Skeen, Holly Fausnett and Amanda Hill. The step-father of Karen Younger and Kevin Ashton, eight grandchildren, Sawyer, Isaiah, Landon, Kaleb, Levi, David, Samuel and Ashton. Also surviving are his three brothers, Richard Hill, Gary Hill and Terry Hill. A memorial service will be held April 14 at 1 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church, 649 Vista Circle, High Point, N.C.

HIGH POINT — Jaeden Ajair Payne was born on April 4, 2014, to Veronica Payne and Linwood Ingram, Jr. He departed this life on April 6, 2014. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens, Jamestown, N.C. THOMASVILLE — Mr. Isaac “Ike” Clay Stowe, Sr., 82, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at the Henry Etta and Bruce Hinkle Hospice House. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5-8 p.m. at the J.C. THOMASVILLE — Mr. Randy Lee Welborn, 56, passed away unexpectedly April 8, 2014, at his residence. Randy was born in High Point, March 20, 1958, a son of the late Dale Wall Welborn and Nora Lee Phillips Welborn. He had worked at Sweet Shop Bakery for forty years. Randy enjoyed going to the beach, the lake, fishing and music.
Surviving are his brother, Phil Welborn and his wife, Linda, of High Point, two nieces, Jenny W. Cash of High Point and Rachel D. Newman of King, and other extended family members. A Celebration of Randy’s Life will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Davis Funerals and Cremations Chapel by Pastor Bob Pavlacka. Burial will follow in Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist Cemetery.
