Pauline F. Allred
RANDLEMAN – Pauline Farlow Allred, age 89, of 376 Walnut Ridge Rd. in Randleman died Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Carillon Assisted Living of Asheboro.  Pauline was born July 16, 1923 in Sophia the daughter of Lawrence E. and Mary Blanche Hill Farlow.
Mrs. Allred was a native of Randolph County; she retired from Tie Rite Neckwear of Asheboro and loved keeping her grandchildren any chance she got.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Monroe Allred, sisters, Clarice Farlow McDowell and Clata Hardin, brother, Raeford Farlow.   She is survived by daughters: Patricia Ann Cagle and husband Clinton of Randleman and Vickie Allred Hinesley and husband Steve of Asheboro; grandchildren: Terry Lee Swaney of Ramseur, Dwayne Edward Swaney, Rhonda Gayle Maynard and Bradley Hinesley all of Asheboro and Brandy Beck of Seagrove; 7 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sisters: Virgie Coltrane and Earlene Taylor both of Sophia and Wilma Cook of Asheboro.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 from 6 to 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro.  The funeral will be held at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 2 PM with Rev. Bill Barnes officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro.

DENTON – Mrs. Janie Bescher Cole, age 63 of Farmer-Denton Road, Denton, died Sunday, November 25 at Randolph Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Ken McDowell and Tiffany Cole-Buck.  Burial will follow in the North Bend Cemetery on Bescher Chapel Road.
The family will see friends at Briggs Funeral Home from 12:30 to 1:30 PM Thursday and other times will be at the residence on Farmer-Denton Road.
Mrs. Cole was born June 16, 1949 in Davidson County to Charles D. Bescher and Pauline Wright Bescher.  She was employed as sales manager with U S Furniture Industries for 27 years and worked is sales with AFLAC for 14 years.  She was preceded in death by her parents and was a member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband John T.  Cole of the home, daughters, Tammy Cole Boyers  of Randleman and Tiffany Cole-Buck and husband Brad of Belmont; brother Wayne Bescher and wife Voncil of Denton; sister Sue Bescher Grubb and husband Steve of Denton and 2 grandchildren, Cole Boyers and Addison Boyers. She is also survived by her beloved Shih-Tuz Lulu and 2 grandpuppies, Charlie and Bentley.

Thurman M. Collins
THOMASVILLE – Mr. Thurman M. Collins, 82, a resident of Hillcrest Drive, died Sunday, November 25, 2012 at his home.  He was born on April 12, 1930 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Rennie Joseph Collins and the late Eula Mae Hall Collins. He retired from Thomasville Furniture Industries, Plant L after 34 years of service.  He was a member of Johnsontown United Methodist Church for 54 years and past member of The Church Trustees.
On December 23, 1949, he married Patsy Prewitt, who survives of the home; also surviving are three sons, Paul Chris Collins and wife Delores of Pinehurst, NC, Gerald Dale Collins and wife Patty of Thomasville, and Randy Joseph Collins, Sr. and wife Carolyn of Pleasant Garden, NC; sister, Delma Conner of Albemarle, NC; six grandchildren, Randy Collins, Jr., Jeremy Collins, Keri Lovell, Candy Walters, Christie Koval, and Michael Kivett; and nine great-grandchildren, Maddie Jones, Tanner Walters, Austin Bowman, Ethan Lovell, Katelynn Koval, Lawrenn Koval, Kellie Koval, Brendan Kivett, and Derrick Kivett.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Johnsontown United Methodist Church with Rev. Eric W. Lineberry and Rev. Bobby Beck officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Mr. Collins will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service.  The family will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 pm and at other times at the home.  Memorials may be directed to Johnsontown UMC, 1057 Johnsontown Rd. Lillian Ruth Prevatt Cox
HIGH POINT – Lillian Ruth Prevatt Cox, age 86, of High Point, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012.  She was born on July 27, 1926, in Robeson County to Marvin Prevatt and Tressie Hardin Prevatt.  She was employed by Clarendon Industries until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Susie Martin, Judy Costner, Betty Parker and Tessie Hyatt and one brother, Cleveland Prevatt.  Survivors include her son, James Cox and his wife Johnnie of Archdale; brother, Bobby Parker and his wife Sharon of Myrtle Beach, SC; two grandchildren, Donna Taylor and Michelle Cox of Archdale; seven great grandchildren.

Joan W. Green
ARCHDALE – Mrs. Joan “Joanie” Williams Green, 51, a resident of 11502 N. Main Street, died Sunday, November 25, 2012 at the Hospice Home at High Point.  A native of Guilford County, she was born on June 24, 1961 a daughter of Harry James Williams, Jr. and Irene Peele.  Joanie spent most of her life in the Randolph County area and was of the Baptist faith.  She was preceded in death by her father, Harry James Williams, Jr.
Surviving are her son, Trey Foster of Greensboro, mother and father, Irene and Joe Armentrout of High Point, sister, Julie Harrelson and husband Wayne of High Point, brothers, James Williams and wife June of Trinity, Johnny Spangler of Trinity, Troy Spangler of Thomasville , and Billy Armentrout and wife April of Wallburg and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Live Service will be conducted 5:30 pm Wednesday in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, with Rev. Barbara Jean Grubb Hedrick
DENTON – Ms. Barbara Jean Grubb Hedrick, 74, resident of Denton, died November 25th, 2012 at her residence.
Ms. Hedrick was born October 21st, 1938 in Davidson County, a daughter to the late Vonn and Essie Black Grubb.  A resident of this area all her life, she had worked in the hosiery industry and also loved dancing.
Surviving is her partner, William Junior Swink of the residence; a daughter, Gaye Foster and husband William of High Point; a son, Johnny Summey and wife Vickie of Lexington; three grandchildren, Jennifer Foster of High Point and Steven and Crystal Summey both of Davidson County; one sister; one brother; and many beloved great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Notre Kimball Lockhart
TRINITY–  Ms. Notre Kimball Lockhart, loving mother, grandmother and mother-in-law, 95, resident of Trinity died November 25th, 2012 at GrayBrier Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Ms. Lockhart was born December 2nd, 1916 in China Grove, NC, a daughter to the late John and Della Hobbs Kimball.  A resident of this area most of her life, she was a homemaker and member of Sophia Baptist Church.  In 1936 she married Robert Lockhart who preceded her in death in 1981.  She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Lockhart in 1996, a brother, Johnny Kimball, a sister, Evelyn Lockhart, a grandson, Michael Lockhart and a great granddaughter, Caroline Kearns.
Surviving is a daughter, Mary Barnes and husband Danny of Trinity; two sons, J.B. Lockhart and wife Judy of High Point and Marvin Lockhart and wife Rita of Boonville; fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Sophia Baptist Church with Rev. Bill V. Marcelle Clark Mulvey
Marcelle Clark Mulvey, 90, formerly of High Point, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012.
Mrs. Mulvey was born May 11, 1922 in Okmulgee, OK. She had been a resident of Vero Beach, FL. for 6 1/2 yrs., coming from New Canaan, CT.
after the death of her husband of 57 yrs., William W. Mulvey.
Marcelle was raised in High Point, and returned regularly to visit. She was the niece of Meredith Slane (deceased), and the cousin of  Willis Slane (deceased), Meredith Mitchner and  Jack Slane of High Point. She graduated from U.N.C. and was of the Episcopalian faith.
Survivors include her sons Chris Mulvey of Vero Beach, and William Mulvey of Greenwich, CT.

Robert Edward Osborne
SOPHIA – Mr. Robert Edward Osborne, 82, resident of 3213 Old Flint Hill Rd. died Sunday morning at his residence.
Mr. Osborne was born June 6, l930 in Albemarle a son of Robert and Mary Wayne Osborne. He had been a resident of Sophia most of his life and was retired as General Superintendent of Ballenger Electric Co. following 44 years of service. He attended Archdale Church of the Nazarene. Mr. Osborne loved to fish at the beach and was an avid gardener. He was married to Vivian Nelson who survives of the home.
Also surviving are 2 daughters; Mrs. Richard (Sherri) Goins of Thomasville and Mrs. Robert (Karen) Beeson of Oak Island; 1 Sister; Mrs. Ronnie (Marilyn) Key of Atlanta, Ga. 4 Grandchildren; Christopher Barnett, Traci Lawson, Dara Ringel and Brandi Kerns. Eight Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00a.m. from the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale by the Rev. Tommy Thompson. Interment will follow in the Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8p.m.at the funeral home.

THOMASVILLE – Mrs. Lucille Jones Pigge, 84, a resident of Santa Fe Circle and formerly of Hartsville, SC died Sunday, November 25, 2012 at her home.  She was born on November 19, 1928 in Chesterfield County, SC to Murray Clarence Jones and Ellen Bullard Jones.  She retired from Delta Finishing Company in Cheraw, SC and attended Greenwood Baptist Church in Thomasville, NC.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Leo Pigge on September 16, 1983.
Surviving is her son, Danny Pigge of Thomasville; daughter, Debbie Brown of Thomasville; sisters, Betty Jean Hinson of Columbia, SC and Nell Clark of Hartsville, SC; grandchildren, Tiffany Mayo of Morehead City, NC and David Brown of Wilmington, NC; great-granddaughter, Makenna Mayo of Morehead City, NC; and her best friend, Mildred Plyler of Paigeland, SC.

Wannell Metts Rabun
Mrs. Rabun, 89, of High Point, NC, passed away November 24, 2012 at her daughter’s home in Charlotte, NC.
She was born May 20, 1923 in Atkinson County, Georgia, a daughter of the late Virgil Metts and Minnie Ethel Morris Metts.  She was a dedicated homemaker and mother.
A service to celebrate her life will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 27, 2012 from the graveside of Sharon Memorial Park, Charlotte.
Mrs. Rabun is survived by her two daughters: Pat Mallard of Charlotte, NC and Peggy Lynch and husband, Dewey of Decatur, AL; two grandchildren: Matthew Mallard and wife, Kristy of Greensboro, NC and Mindy McMurray and husband, Tim of Charlotte, NC; two great grandchildren: Madison Elizabeth Mallard and Timothy Spencer McMurray; two brothers and two sisters: Talmadge Virgil Mettts, Minnie Ethel Mattair, Evelyn Louise Woods, and Morris Henry Metts.

Crystal Tuwanna Snider
THOMASVILLE – Ms. Crystal Tuwanna Snider, 47, a resident of Fuller Mill Road died Saturday morning, November 24, 2012 at her residence.  She was born March 31, 1965 in Guilford County, a daughter of Kermit Snider and Patsy Hughes Snider.
Ms. Snider was employed with AMPAC Forwarding of High Point.  She attended Zion United Church of Christ.
Surviving are a daughter, Ashley Cheek of Trinity; a son, Austin Cheek of Trinity; a sister, Erica Snider of Thomasville; brothers, Chris Freeman and wife Tracy and Jeff Freeman and wife Tracy, both of Thomasville; step-father, Joe Hughes, Sr. of Thomasville; step-brothers, Joe Hughes, Jr. and wife Rita and Travis Hughes, both of Thomasville; several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, November 30, 2012 at 1:30 P.M. in Zion United Church of Christ with Rev. James Simonds officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.

RAMSEUR – Bessie York Stout, 98, of 1251 Foushee Rd., Ramseur, died Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

Bessie was born August 12, 1914 in Ramseur the tenth child and last survivor of twelve children. She was born to the late John  Wesley York and Ednora Langley York and was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, Charles Condon Stout.
Bessie was a life long Baptist and the oldest member of the First Baptist Church in Ramseur. She worked at Burlington Mills in Ramseur for many years and retired form Bossong Hosiery in Asheboro.
Survivors: sons, Roger Dean Stout and wife, Beverly, Ernest Lee Stout, Lowell T.”Buck” Stout, all of Ramseur, half brother, Donald York, of Ramseur, grandchildren, Travis Stout, of Ramseur, Susan Grose and husband, Jeff, of Asheboro, Dean Stout, of Franklinville, Rebekah Stauffer, and husband, John, of Siler City, Stephanie Warren and husband, Scott, of Ramseur., six great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Ruby Rhodes Wilson
HIGH POINT – Ruby Rhodes Wilson, age 99, died peacefully on November 24, 2012 at High Point Regional Hospital.  She was born June 20, 1913 in Stokes County to Elder Zeb Rhodes and Grace Taylor Rhodes.  Ruby was a resident of High Point most of her life, moving here from Nettle Ridge, VA in 1926.  She received her education in Virginia and High Point public schools and Jones Business College.
On October 24, 1936 Ruby married Reid Franklin Wilson who preceded her in death on August 6, 1978.  She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Morgan of Greensboro and Margaret Moore of Jamestown, and two brothers, Wilfred “Dusty” Rhodes of New Jersey and Zeb Taylor Rhodes of Leland, NC.
Ruby was employed by Melrose Hosiery Company for 20 years as a receiving clerk.  She was later the owner and operator of The Bouquet Flower Shop and was also an Avon representative for 35 years.  
She was a faithful member of Mitchell’s Grove United Methodist Church, the Ladies Bible Class, and United Methodist Women.  She served on the Administrative Council and the Bereavement and Sickness Support Committee and she faithfully visited shut-ins until her health prevented it.  In 2001 she was presented with the Lay Person of the Year award, and in 2001 the Laity Service Award from the Western NC Conference.    Ruby loved the Lord, her family, her church, her friends, and her flowers.
Surviving are one daughter, Anna Dean Spinnett of Winston-Salem, and five sons, Gary Franklin Wilson and wife Connie of Greensboro, Vernon Cecil Wilson of High Point, Lonnie Ray Wilson and wife Nancy of High Point, Alfred Samuel Wilson and wife Pat of Climax, and David Randall Wilson and wife Sherry of High Point; thirteen grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 7-9 PM Tuesday, November 27, at Sechrest Funeral Service, High Point.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 28, at Mitchell’s Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Porter and Rev. Butch Osborn officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
