TRINITY — Alice Grayson “Granny” Andrews, age 82, a resident of Trinity, passed away Friday, August 8, 2014.
She was born on April 22, 1932, in Rutherford County, N.C., to the late William Roy Grayson Sr., and Ollie St. Claire Grayson and had been a resident of this area most of her life. She worked at Anvil Brand and later with Prelude where she retired with many years of service. She was a long time active member of Allen Jay Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. She loved her Lord and enjoyed reading, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her husband, Clyde Andrews, her two sisters, Lucille Grayson and Norma Tyner, and her brother William Roy Grayson Jr.
Surviving are her daughters, Jane Murr and her husband Ron and Dolly Andrews all of Trinity; her grandchildren, Rodney Jarrett and his wife Hope, Sam Jarrett and his wife Jeanne, Jeff Murr and His wife Jackie, Alicia Todd and her husband Jason, and Stephen Murr and his companion Sarah. Also surviving are her great grandchildren, Cody Walker, Evan Jarrett, Savannah Jarrett, Natalie Jarrett, Blake Todd, Shelby Todd, Jaxon Todd, Michael Murr and her faithful canine companion, Rusty.
A service to celebrate Granny’s life will be held Monday morning at 11 o’clock from the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, with Pastor Roger Carmichael officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home. Gladys Burkhart Briggs
LEXINGTON — Gladys Burkhart Briggs, 97, of Briggstown Road and also of Dillon, S.C., died Friday, August 8, at the Hinkle Hospice House.
A funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday, August 13, at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until noon Tuesday prior to the funeral service.

THOMASVILLE — Margie Allgood Embry a resident of Piedmont Crossing passed away on August 9, 2014 at Hospice Hinkle House of Davidson County. Margie was born on May 11, 1926, in High Point, N.C. She was the daughter of John Howard Allgood and Hazel Carter Allgood. On March 24, 1945 Margie married the love of her life Lee James Embry. She was happily married for 69 years to Lee who passed away on April 10, 2014.
After graduating from High Point High School, Margie worked with the United States War Department. She later worked at Burlington Industries and retired from the Davidson County Department of Social Services. She was a member of West End United Methodist Church where she sang in the church choir, was a member of the United Methodist Women and served her church family in many other capacities.
If any member of her church family needed assistance she was always there to help. Margie was an excellent craftsperson. She enjoyed painting, quilting, crocheting and with her husband Lee created some very beautiful Old World Santas. She took great pride in her home and always enjoyed entertaining family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lee and a brother, Elmo S. Allgood. Surviving are her daughter, Sharon Embry Fouts of Greensboro, grandchildren Lenora Fouts Kraft and her husband Andy of Apex and George Fouts Jr. and wife Lisa of Jamestown. Also surviving Margie are four great- grandchildren, Camden Elizabeth Kraft, Hunter Andrew Kraft, Carson Michael Fouts and Nathan Brinkley Fouts. In addition she survived by two brothers-in law, Bud Embry of Thomasville and Boley Embry of Alexandria Virginia as well as a number of very special nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services for Margie will be held at JC Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville, on Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at 11 a.m. The family will greet other family members and guests one hour before the service from 10 – 11 a.m. Rev. Myra Ward Brown will preside at the service.
Our family would like to express our deep appreciation to the staff members of Piedmont Crossing. The caregivers there have all become a part of our extended family. Their kindness, patience, love and attentiveness have been outstanding. We are blessed to be a part of the Piedmont Crossing family.

Margaret Lotts Gallimore
HIGH POINT — Margaret Lotts Gallimore returned to her heavenly home on August 7, 2014, following a valiant battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 12, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point with the Reverend Bruce Hartgrove officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service at noon on Tuesday.
Born January 20, 1925, in High Point she was a lifelong resident of the city, a graduate of High Point (Central) High School and a lifelong member of First Baptist Church.
She was predeceased by her parents Jacob T. and Lottie Greaver Lotts. Also preceding her in death were her first husband Northrop Kendall Robinson and husband J. Ray Gallimore. Also preceding her in death were a daughter, Bonnie Lynn Gallimore, and sisters Thelma L. Loflin and Mildred L. Williams.
For many years she was in business with her second husband as secretary of Concrete and Finishing Company.
She is survived by her son, Northrop Kendall (Ken) Robinson Jr., a very special niece and caregiver, Judith L. Marsh, and nephew H. Clyde Williams Jr.
The family wishes to thank the ladies of Hospice: Kelly, Cindy, Leslie and Melissa for their loving help and kindness; and her dear friend and neighbor, Eunice Leach.
