Jason Robert Allred
HIGH POINT – Jason Robert Allred, 38, passed away in his home home Friday, July 12, 2013. He was born in High Point on April 18, 1975, to Neal Clifton Allred III and Karen Floyd Allred. He was preceded in death by his father, Neal Clifton (Tippy) Allred III; his maternal grandmother Edith Norris Floyd and his paternal grandfather, Neal Clifton Allred Jr.
Surviving are his mother, Karen Floyd Allred; grandmother, Ruby Payne Allred; sister, Erica Allred Hilton and husband Jeffrey; and one beloved nephew. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A celebraton of Jason’s life will take place Friday, July 19, 2013, at 7 p.m. at Christian Cathedral Fellowship Hall, 8096 E. Holly Grove Road, Thomasville, NC, 27360. Because of Jason’s love of cooking, a potluck meal will follow the service. Please bring something that you think Jason would have enjoyed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the charity of your choice.
 
 
Col. Joseph Bowen
CARLISLE, Pa. — Colonel Joseph Carroll Bowen, 66, died Monday, July 8, at his residence in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 18, at Linwood United Methodist Church in Lexington. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service. Davidson Funeral Home is serving the Bowen family.


 
Billy Dewayne Brimson
HIGH POINT ­— Billy Brimson, age 56, of 3203 Quail Run Drive, High Point, NC, passed July 13, 2013, at Hospice Home of High Point. A service will be held to celebrate his life Thursday, July 18, 5 p.m. at Victorious Life Church located at 121 Skeet Club Road, High Point, NC. The Reverend Carl Kizer will be officiating. The family requests that donations be made to Hospice Home at High Point, 1803 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262, or American Cancer Society, in lieu of flowers.
Billy was born August 13, 1956, in Memphis, TN, to Ernest W. (Bill) Brimson and Sue Delane Butler. Billy was a graduate of Overton High School in Memphis, TN. On November 16, 1985, Billy married Sandra Gail Kizer of Memphis, Tn. In 1986, Billy and Sandy made their home in the Greensboro/High Point community. Billy is survived by his wife, Sandra Brimson, his daughter, Ashley Christine Brimson, his sons, William Patrick Brimson and Jacob Daniel Brimson, his granddaughter, Leah Christine Johnson, his father, Bill Brimson and step-mother Nancy of Germantown, TN, his brother, Paul Lobianco and sister in-law Sandra of Clarksville TN, his step-sister, Pam Breeckner and step-brother in-law Doug of Davidson, N.C., along with many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Billy was a successful businesses owner/entrepreneur for many years and recently was employed by Evergreen Enterprises. He was a devout Carolina Panther Fan!!!! Those who had the pleasure of knowing Billy have been blessed and will carry the fond memories and happy times with them; these are the treasures that will keep us strong. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Lobianco, his mother, Sue Butler, and his step-mother, Gene Brimson.

Ray Bunn 
TRINITY — Ray Bunn, age 83, died Monday, July 15, 2013, at High Point Regional Hospital. He was born October 2, 1929, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Garland and Minnie Hall Bunn.
Ray was best known for Mary B’s Restaurant that he and his wife Mary operated for many years. He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church for 43 years and served as head deacon for 40 of those years.
Ray is survived by three daughters: Donna Matthews and husband Bill of Trinity, NC; Dianne Mashburn and husband Gary of Trinity, NC; Kathy Morgan and husband Roy of Winston-Salem, NC; grandchildren: Jennifer Bivins, Derrick Matthews, Deana Hedrick, Zachary Mashburn, Justin Morgan, Dallas Morgan, and Ashley Morgan; great-grandchildren: Courtney Bivins, Colt Matthews, Tyler Matthews, Haley Hedrick, and Kaylee Hedrick; two sisters: Mary Joyce Banks and Dora Marie Davis; three brothers: Carol Bunn, Harry Bunn, and Elwood Bunn. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Hodges Bunn and siblings Anna Lee Leonard, Esta Faye Bowman, Glendi Bunn, and Otis Bunn.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at Landmark Baptist Church, 6055 Sunset View Drive, High Point, NC 27263. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 17, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale.

Clifton Reid Duncan
TRINITY — Clifton Reid Duncan, 54, passed away on July 7, 2013.
Cliff was born on September 17, 1958, in Columbia, SC, to Donald Bruce Duncan and Wilma Traylor Duncan. He graduated from Northern Nash High School in Rocky Mount, N.C., in 1976 and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Relations. Cliff was known for a lifelong passion for hunting, fishing and archery, which he enjoyed with a large circle of friends. Cliff was stricken with insulin-dependent diabetes in 1987 and dealt with this illness bravely for some 35 years.
Cliff is preceded in death by his father, Donald. B. Duncan of Leeds, S.C., and his beloved dog “Gabe”. He is survived by his mother, Wilma T. Duncan; two brothers, Dr. Barry C. Duncan and D. Scott Duncan; one sister-in-law, Nancy M. Duncan; several nieces and nephews, and too many friends to mention.

Susan Ivey McLaughlin
HIGH POINT — Mrs. Susan Ivey McLaughlin, 90, passed away Monday, July 15, 2013 at River Landing.
Mrs. McLaughlin was born in Randleman, April 1, 1923, the daughter of Melford Ivey and Pansey Caudle Ivey. She attended Montreat College and retired from the U.S. Customs Service. Sue was a former member of the High Point Museum 1859 Club and the Greensboro Museum. She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick McLaughlin and she attended St. Mary’s Episcopal Church prior to her declining health.
Surviving are nieces and nephews and their families.
Graveside service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery in Randleman by the Rev. Mel Anderson. Davis Funerals and Cremations are in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Frances Bingham Moriarty

THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Frances Bingham Moriarty, 90, of W. Holly Hill Road, died Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Pine Ridge Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born April 7, 1923, in Guilford County, a daughter of the late Allen G. Bingham and Martha Ingram Bingham.
She was a graduate of Pilot High School in Davidson County and attended High Point College and Stratford College in Danville, VA. Frances was a homemaker and a member of Memorial United Methodist Church in Thomasville. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband James Henry Moriarty, Jr. and her son James Henry Moriarty, III and a brother Maxum M. Bingham.
Surviving is her daughter, Martha Moriarty Gillette of Murfreesboro, TN; a sister, Yvonne Bingham Lloyd of High Point; a brother, Nixon (Nick) Bingham and wife Mae of High Point.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2013, in the Denton City Cemetery with Dr. Ivan H.M. Peden officiating. Mrs. Moriarty will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until 12:00 noon on Thursday. Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be sent to www.jcgreenandsons.com.

Eugene Courtney Saunders
HIGH POINT — Eugene Courtney Saunders, 71, died on July 15, 2013 at WFUBMC after a brief illness. Gene was born January 22, 1942, in Lynchburg, Va. He was a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Blacksburg, Va. In 1965 he married Harriette Dorr of Danville, Va. Gene served in the U.S. Army, achieving the rank of First Lieutenant before his discharge in 1969. Following his military service, Gene pursued a career in Accounting. He was employed by Price-Waterhouse, Thomasville Furniture Industries, Stoneville Furniture, later becoming the controller at Thomas Built Busses, before starting his own accounting practice in Thomasville.
Gene is predeceased by his father, Wilmore T. Saunders and a sister, Shirley Saunders Beasley. He is survived by his wife, Harriette Dorr Saunders of High Point, a daughter Courtney Saunders Osborne, and son-in-law Ryan E. Osborne of Hickory. Survivors also include his mother, Hilda Duff Saunders of Richmond, Va.; two brothers Thomas W. Saunders of Danville, Va. and Steve E. Saunders of Richmond, Va.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 18, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Sechrest Funeral Home, 1301 East Lexington Avenue in High Point with the Reverend John Carroll officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society of Catawba County, PO Box 63, Hickory, NC 28603, or to an animal rescue organization of choice.
 
 
Jennifer A. Sikes
TRINITY – Jennifer Dawn Adkins Sikes, 42, of Trinity, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013.
Born May 22, 1971, and a graduate of Trinity High School, she worked as a salesperson in the furniture industry for Ashley Home Furnishings. She is survived by her mother, Jacqueline Ledwell and husband Craig  of Trinity and father Roger Dean Adkins of Georgia.
A celebration of Jennifer’s life will be held July 18, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. at Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, Trinity, with Robert Upchurch officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
