Samuel Cole Easter
HIGH POINT – Mr. Samuel Cole Easter, 88, died Nov. 17, 2012 at his residence. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Sechrest Funeral Service in High Point. 

Margaret Holder
THOMASVILLE – Mrs. Margaret Sutton Holder, 71, of Trinity died Nov. 16, 2012 at Hospice Home of High Point. There are no services planned at this time but the family requests that memorials be directed to Hospice Home of High Point, 1803 Westchester Dr., High Point, NC 27262.

Lois Johnson
BURLINGTON - Lois M. Johnson, 63, died Nov. 16, 2012. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Alamance Memorial Park. Cremation services entrusted to Triad Cremation Society, Inc.

Zelpha Pawnee Ward Lingerfelt
HIGH POINT – Zelpha Pawnee (Ward) Lingerfelt, 88 passed away Friday November 16, 2012 at the Hospice Home at High Point with her family by her side.  Pawnee was born in Pickens County, SC a daughter to the late William F. and Katie Cash Ward.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Charlie Grover Lingerfelt and three siblings, Clara Wardlaw, Bud Ward and Everette Ward and her friend and companion of 15 years Raymond Isom.
She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Trindale Baptist Church.  Pawnee was employed at No-Sag Springs until her retirement.
Our mother loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.   Her dog (Shadow) gardening, going to the beach, traveling when she could, and being outside were her enjoyment.
She is survived by seven children, three sons; Frank Charles Lingerfelt and wife Mary Ann of Sophia, Donald Loman Lingerfelt and wife Brenda of Archdale, Milton Ray Lingerfelt and wife Jennifer Woodard of Baltimore, MD and four daughters;  Betty Lou Yeargin and husband Buddy of Hampton, VA, Peggy Marie Johnson and husband Larry of Trinity, NC, Sandra Elaine East and husband Danny Ray of Archdale, NC and Karen Darlene Cromer and late husband William (Peanut) of Trinity, NC.  She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, Joan, Jackie, Buddy, Claud, Kay, Patty, Donna, Cindy, Charlie, Corey, Toby, Michael, Brandi, Celena and PJ,  twenty two great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, three nieces and four nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lingerfelt will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale with the Reverend Tony Moore officiating.  Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and CNA of the Hospice Team who took part in caring for our mother, she loved and appreciated everyone.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be given to Hospice of The Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC  27262. LEXINGTON – Cuther Elzavan Owen, 94, of Winston Salem, died Nov. 16, 2012. A private family graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Forest Hill Memorial Park in Lexington. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.

Doris Whitaker
HIGH POINT – Mrs. Doris Jane Whitaker, 77, passed away Friday, November 16, 2012 at her residence, William Booth Apts. following several months of declining health.
Mrs. Whitaker was born in High Point, December 9, 1934, a daughter of Lacy and Radie Fields Underwood.  She was employed by Winn Dixie for many years and was of the Baptist faith.  Doris was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed cooking for her family.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James Whitaker, a grandson, Allen Whitaker and a sister, Phyllis Cornelius.
Surviving are a daughter, Sandra Cliett of Archdale; two sons, Mike Whitaker and wife Tammy of High Point and Phil Whitaker and wife April of Archdale; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Doris’ Life will be held at a later date at the William Booth Apts. Memorials may be directed to the Guilford County Animal Shelter. Online condolences may be made at davisfuneralsandcremations.com.
