ROANOKE — Sharon Carol Brunstetter, 52, of Roanoke, formally of High Point, died Saturday, April 20, 2013. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, May 5, 2013 at 3 p.m. at Mitchell’s Grove United Methodist Church. Arrangements by Oakey’s Funeral Home in Roanoke,Va.
Peggie Hedgecock Green
HIGH POINT — Mrs. Peggie Jean Hedgecock Green, 80, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, died Thursday, April 25, 2013. She was born on February 1, 1933, in Davidson County to Charlie L. Hedgecock and Amie Linville Kennedy Hedgecock. She retired as a bookkeeper with Dixie Container in High Point. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, where she served in The United Methodist Women, the church choir, and was a member of the Willing Worker’s Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Don Lee Green on July 20, 2006, whom she married in April 1954, and a brother, Linzo Hedgecock.
Surviving are her two sons, Tony Green and wife Geneva of Sophia, and Scott Green and wife Paige of High Point; sisters, Geraldine Fowler and husband Mirion, and Judy Wall, all of High Point; brother, Hubert Hedgecock and wife Becky of High Point; grandchildren, Brian Green and wife April, Adam Green and wife Jessi, Riley and Macey Green; great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Kadie, and Easton Green; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at 4 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Clontz and Rev. Ardis D. Payne officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Green will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 6-8 p.m. and at other times at the home of Scott and Paige. Memorials may be directed to Mt. Pleasant UMC Choir, 6516 Old Greensboro Rd. THOMASVILLE —Willie Kenneth Bo Redfearn, 76, died Thursday, April 25, 2013, at his home at 207 White Street. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in St. John A. M. E. Zion Church. Burial will follow Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church 30 minutes before the funeral service and other times at the home. S. E. HIGH POINT — Mrs. Frances Virginia Quick Rhodes, 62, of High Point, departed this earthly life on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Libertywood Nursing Center while surrounded by her sisters and nieces.
She was born on July 29, 1950, in Marlboro County, SC, the daughter of the late Amos Quick Sr. and Pecolia Peguese Quick.
Frances was a resident of High Point for 60 years. She graduated from William Penn High School in 1968 and later retired from Amos Hosiery Mills. She was united in marriage to Herman Rhodes. Frances was a loving mother and showed her zest for life with her daughter. She was loved dearly by her family and friends and will be missed greatly.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband and one daughter, Starvina Quick.
Left the cherish her memories includes three sons, Lamont Quick, Derrick Rhodes both of High Point and Deacon “Gebre Selassie” Anthony (Sintayehu) Quick of Ethopia, Africa; three grandchildren, Ashlei Williamson of High Point, Mya Quick of Monroe, NC and Kidest Quick of Ethopia, Africa; two brothers, Amos Quick Jr. of Milton, FL and Bruce Quick of High Point; four sisters, Maggie (Donald) McDowell, Mel (Glen) Bates, Nadine (Patrick) Milton all of High Point and Star (Ronald) Daughtridge of Jamestown, NC; uncle, Freddie (Betty) Peguese of High Point; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 28, 2013 at People’s Funeral Chapel, 1404 English Rd. Burial will follow in Oakwood Memorial Park.

ARCHDALE — Mrs. Pauline Frazier Brewer, 87, resident of Archdale died April 25th, 2013, at Westchester Manor in High Point.
Mrs. Brewer was born September 26, 1925, in Randolph County, a daughter to the late George W. and Mamie Parker Frazier. A resident of this area all her life, she worked at Burlington Mills and attended Poplar Ridge Friends Meeting. She was married to Guy Kenneth Brewer who preceded her in death in 2005. In addition to her parents and husband, she also was preceded in death by three sons, Farrell, Darrell and Barry Brewer, and fourteen brothers and sisters.
Surviving is a son, Kenneth (Ken) W. Brewer and wife Karen of High Point; two daughters, Donna J. Brewer of Archdale and Sheila B. Shively of Archdale; five grandchildren, Justin Brewer, Darren Brewer, Amy Howard, Christy Baker and Stacy Troxler; and ten great-grandchildren, Caroline, Will, Rainey, Katelyn, Chance, Aspen, Tillery, Harrison, Andrew and Guy. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with Dr. Brian Donnelly officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at 2959 Rob Cruthis Rd. Archdale, NC 27263. THOMASVILLE — Mr. David Andrew “Bud” Stevenson, 59, of Thomasville, passed away on April 25, 2013 at his home after a brief battle with cancer. Bud worked as a truck driver for Hickory Springs as long as his health permitted.
He proudly served our counrty as a member of the 4th 113 FA Artillary of the US National Guard. In his spare time he loved going to the beach, fishing and Nascar. Since his illness he has enjoyed taking many trips to the beach and spending time with his family.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Bud was born on January 17, 1954, to the late Henry Ben Stevenson and Frances Hill. He is survived by his wife Nellie Stevenson of 22 years and daughters, Carol Gardner, Holly Stevenson and Hope Stevenson who were the apple of their daddy’s eye.
He is also survived by his step-children, Bobby Critzer, Lisa McCall, Charles Litchford and Walter Litchford and his brothers, Henry Stevenson, Rick Stevenson, Mike Stevenson and the late Tim Stevenson. Bud was the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren, Sydney, Christian, Brittany, Anna, Mallory, Carter, Collin, and Owen. He is also survived by six step-grandchildren.
And last but not least his faithful friend “Lil Buddy”, the family dog.
A memorial service in his memory is set for Sunday, April 28, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the American Legion Post 87, 409 High Ave in High Point by the Rev. Gary Green. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, N.C. 27292.
LEXINGTON — Ronda Gail Warner Little, 56, of Woodhaven Drive, died Thursday, April 26, 2013, at her home. A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, at First Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Davidson Funeral Home is serving the family.
TRINITY — Mrs. Mary Frances Westmoreland Herring, 66, a residence of 4134 Oak Haven Drive, Trinity, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at her residence. She was born on August 4, 1946, in Davidson County, to Roy Edward Westmoreland and Margie Scarlett Westmoreland. She worked at Thomasville Furniture for 23 years and after retirement, worked as a clerk at the BP Station on Finch Farm Road until she became ill. She was a member for more than 30 years at Antioch Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father and a daughter, Starla Herring. She was married to Lonnie Herring who preceded her in death on April 4, 2004.
Surviving is her mother, Margie Scarlett Westmoreland Cox of Thomasville; one daughter, Wendy Herring of Thomasville; three sons, Lonnie Herring and Michael Herring, both of the home, and Chris Herring and wife Lisa of High Point; two sisters, Deborah Westmoreland and Lisa Westmoreland and boyfriend Barry Brown, all of Thomasville; two brothers, Paul Westmoreland and girl friend Jackie Dolan of Thomasville, and James Westmoreland and wife Lila of Thomasville; seven grandchildren, Joey Herring, Matthew Herring, Andrew Herring, Kyle Herring, Dylan Herring, Tyler Herring, and Christopher Herring; and four great grandchildren, Jaiden Herring, Kylie Herring, Adam Herring, and Carter Herring.
Services will be held on Monday, April 29, 2013, at 2 p.m. at J. C. Green and Sons Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Gary Shipes officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1 to 2 p.m., prior to the service, and other times at the home. LEXINGTON — Thomas Ervin Leonard Jr., 58, of Meadowview Road, died Friday, April 26, 2013, at Hinkle Hospice House. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. at Davidson Funeral Home prior to the service and other times at the home on Meadowview Road.

ARCHDALE — Vennie Liner Ramoz, 59, a resident of Archdale, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 25, 2013, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born June 18, 1953, in High Point, NC to the late Elma Bray Cooper and Glenn B. Liner. Vennie graduated high school in 1971 at High Point Central and received an Associate’s Degree from Biscayne Paramedical Institute in Miami, Florida. She was employed as manager of the sterile processing, and Laundry at High Point Regional Health, for 30 years. Just this year, her department received the prestigious “Purple Cow Award”, an award that is given to an individual and or department that goes above and beyond the call of duty. She was a long time faithful member of Hickory Chapel Wesleyan Church. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death was a brother; Keith Liner and a cousin; Jerry Lawson.
Surviving are: friend and longtime caregiver; Beth Booze of the home, sister in law; Mrs. Linda Liner and niece; Jillian Liner of Seattle, WA, a special cousin, Mrs. Judy Hibberd and husband Woody of Winchester, VA. Also surviving are other close cousins; Tracy Krohn and family of Sterling, VA, David Hibberd and family of Charleston, WVA, Taylor Lawson of Astoria, NY, Alex Lawson and family of Brooklyn, NY, and Mrs. Jan Lawson of Greensboro, NC.

John L. Kepley
LEXINGTON — John Lee Kepley, age 79 of Becks Church Road, Lexington passed away Thursday night at High Point Regional Medical Center.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Second Reformed United Church of Christ where he was a member, with Rev. Dr. William B. Shrout officiating.
The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday night and at other times at the home.
John was born in Davidson County, September 15, 1933, to Charlie Lee and Esther Hancock Kepley. He was the retired owner of Kepley Tile for 50 years; veteran of the US Army; at the church he was Elder Emeritus, former member and President of the Consistory, taught Junior and Senior class and former Superintendent of the church and was know as the “Candy Man”.
For 37 years he carried the chains at Central Davidson Football games, was very involved with sports at Central, was in the Spartan Hall of Fame and a Lifetime Spartan; coached Little and Pony league baseball. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Ellen Younts.
John is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judy Hayes Kepley; daughter, Julee Kepley Nunley (Kevin); sons, Mike Kepley (Sharon) and Charles Kepley (Karen); grandchildren, Kristi Kepley, Matt Kepley, Brad Kepley, Logan Kepley, Mason Kepley, Alex Nunley and Jack Nunley; step-grandchildren, Chad Beasley (Katie) and Rob Beasley; sisters, Violet Beck and Rachel K. Cox (Howard); brothers, Joe Kepley (Betty Grey) and Jack Kepley (Margie).
