William Stevens Creech, Jr.
GREENSBORO — William Stevens Creech Jr. passed away on January 28, 2013, at his home in Greensboro, N.C. Steve was born August 8, 1952, in High Point, the only son of Iris Culler Creech and William Stevens “Bill” Creech. He attended High Point City Schools, The McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tenn., and graduated from Guilford College. In recent years Steve worked in security at Greensboro College. Steve married Sharyn Moffitt in 1988 and lived in Asheville for many years. He was a caring stepfather to her three daughters. He loved art, music and traveling the country to visit his family and friends. Steve will be remembered as a strong swimmer, a gentle soul and a loving uncle to his nieces and nephews.
Surviving Steve are his three sisters, Betsy Creech Raymond of Durham, Mary Ann Creech McIntire of Raleigh and Susie Creech Fowls and husband Don of Paradise Valley, Az. He also is survived by his nieces, Sarah Raymond Williams and husband Carl, Liz Raymond Montgomery and husband Chad, and Kathryn Elizabeth McIntire; and three nephews; Matthew Fowls, Kristian Fowls and Lucas Fowls, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation and services will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Sechrest Funeral Services, 1301 E. Lexington Ave, High Point. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the service to follow at 11:30 a.m.
Afterward there will be an inurnment at the columbarium at First Presbyterian Church in High Point.

Cora Ann Kennedy George
THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Cora Ann Kennedy George, 77, of Byerly Drive went home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at the Hinkle Hospice House.
She was born July 19, 1935, in Davidson County, a daughter of the late Noah Kennedy and Gladys Adams Kennedy. Cora was retired from Thomasville Furniture Industries, Plant C, and was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She was married August 18, 1951, to Carlos Eugene George, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are one daughter, Shelia Cline and husband Danny of High Rock Lake; two sons, Ricky George and wife Lynn of Westminister, MD, and Chuck George and wife Vicky of Thomasville; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. George will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Sizemore officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. George will remain at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home, 122 W. Main St., Thomasville, until placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. The family will be at the funeral home Friday, February 1, 2013, from 6 until 8 p.m. and other times at the home. LEXINGTON — Virginia Baker Roten, 80, of Southmont passed away Tuesday at her home.

Naomi Gardner Truelove
THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Naomi Gardner Truelove, 92, a resident of Piedmont Crossing, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Thomasville Medical Center. She was born in Harnett County, September 4, 1920, a daughter of Luther Gardner and Lalah Holt Gardner and had been a resident of Thomasville most of her life. She was a member of Carolina Memorial Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
She was married to William Howard Truelove, who died March 30, 1999. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Truelove; two grandsons, Landon Truelove and Mark Harris; a sister Celia Ann Spencer; and two brothers, Julius Gardner and Nathan Gardner. Surviving are three daughters, Doris Everhart and her husband Buddy of Thomasville, Peggy Nuckles and her husband Steve of Greensboro, and Pat Harris and her husband Hal of Kernersville; two sisters, Margelene Shelton and her husband John of Sarasota, NC, and Dorothy Ann Winstead and her husband Raymond of Wilson, NC; two brothers, Roland Gardner of Stantonsburg, NC, and Homer Gardner and his wife Georgia of Wilson, NC. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Rodney Everhart, Greg Gibson and his wife Lorie, Lynn Gibson, and Michael Harris, and two great-grandchildren, Ashley Gibson and Tyler Harris.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. at J.C. Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville by the Rev. Sarah Snell. Burial will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 12 to 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice. Mickey Molbert Wilkins
ARCHDALE – Mr. Mickey Molbert Wilkins, 69, of Archdale passed away Monday, January 28, 2013, at High Point Regional.
Mickey was born September 14, 1943, in Lumberton, NC, a son of the late Welton C. Wilkins Sr. and Zoral Wilkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Angel Louis Wilkins and Welton Wilkins Jr.; and two sisters, Mary E. Locklear and Patsy Allen. Mickey was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. He was employed by Hatteras Yacht, Mathews Specialty Vehicles and was a skilled carpenter. Mickey enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and playing cards. He was a fun person to be around with his witty personality and his many ways of making people laugh. He was a caring person who will be dearly missed.
Mickey is survived by the love of his life, Brenda Cox of Randleman; three brothers, Connie Wilkins and wife Cordia of Baltimore, MD, Dock Wilkins of Lumberton and Ricky Wilkins and wife Jan of Lumberton; one sister, Stephanie Brooks of CA; and several nieces, nephews and many good friends.
A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, February 2, at Bear Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery in Pembroke, NC, with visitation from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. The family will receive friends locally from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.
