Burton William Davis, Sr
HIGH POINT — Burton William Davis, Sr., 89, of High Point, died Thursday at the Hospice Home at High Point. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point.

LINWOOD - Randall Dean Burham, 22, died on Thursday, January 16, 2014.  Cremation services entrusted to Triad Cremation Society & Chapel.

Joe Robbins
HIGH POINT — Joe Eddie Robbins, Jr. entered eternal rest on Sunday, January 12, 2014, at High Point Regional Hospital. Joe was born in High Point, NC, to Joe Eddie Robbins and Rosetta Bennett Robbins on March 23, 1950. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; his son, Kenichi Robbins; maternal and paternal grandparents; several aunts; uncles and beloved cousins.
Joe leaves to cherish his memories, daughter, Jeannett (Robert) McCuller of Jacksonville, NC; grandchildren, Jeassica and Maxis McCuller of Jacksonville, NC; brother, Ezell Robbins; sister, Brenda Bennett both of High Point, NC; aunts, Eva Mae Brown of Philadelphia, PA, Eloise Robbins Nesbitt of High Point, NC, Mae Etta Robbins, of Louisville, KY; a special friend, Tonya Blocker; a host of special cousins, other relatives, loving friends and faithful pets, Ghost and Lucy.
Special thanks to the staff of High Point Regional Hospital Intensive and Immediate Care.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Greater New Hope Baptist Church, 906 Meredith Street. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. and other times at 521 Ashburn Street.

Helen Carver
HIGH POINT — Mrs. Helen McDowell Carver, 93, also affectionately known as “Gramps” was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at Genesis Triad Center where she have been a resident for several years. She was born to the late Ernest and Mary Adams McDowell on December 17, 1920, in Kings Mountain, NC. Also proceeded in death by her husband, William Lawrence Carver, two sisters, Ruth Bess and Adline Ellis, three brothers, James (Son), William and George McDowell.
Helen was a devoted and active member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church for 75 years. She was a lifetime member of The VFW, where she served in the capacity of State President, a member of the Eastern Star, and the Household of Ruth. Within these organizations, Helen was a role model for young women. She was loved and known by all in her community.
She leaves to cherish her memories, one son, Donald (Maggie) McDowell of High Point, NC; three grandchildren, Stephanie Miles and Yolanda McDowell of High Point, NC; and Donald McDowell, Jr. of Greensboro, NC; five great grandchildren, Nicholas and Candise Covington, Brea and Essence Miles; and Zoie McDowell-Gilmore all of High Point, NC; three sisters, Victoria Bess and Joyce Jefferies of Kings Mountain, NC; and Betty (Army) Bell of South Norwalk, Conn; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and one special friend, Charles Smith.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Mount Vernon Baptist Church, 716 Leonard Ave., High Point, NC. Interment will follow in Carolina Biblical Gardens, Jamestown, NC. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 p.m. until 1 p.m. and other times at 507 Kent St.

Minnie Joyce Damron
TRINITY — Minnie Joyce Damron, 60, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, January 17, 2014. She was preceded in death by parents Vergis and Allene Damron, and husband Larry. She leaves behind a daughter Mitzi, 3 brothers and 5 sisters. A memorial service will be held at Mt. Olive Wesleyan Church in Sophia on Sunday January 19, 2014 at 3 p.m. and visitation from 2-3 p.m. Donations can be made to the family in lieu of flowers.

Ina Dawson
High Point  — Mrs. Ina Grace Proctor Dawson, 84, passed away Friday, January 17, 2014, at the Hospice Home at High Point.
Mrs. Dawson was born in High Point, November 24, 1929, a daughter of Virgil Clifton Proctor and Lillie Boggs Proctor. She was a dental hygienist and worked with her husband. She was of the Baptist faith and a daughter of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Ina has been reunited with her son, Brian Dale Dawson.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Dr. Irby C. Dawson of Greensboro; three sons, Richard C. Dawson, Sr. of Greensboro; Tony D. Dawson and wife Sylvia of Trinity; and Dr. Terry W. Dawson and wife Ann of High Point; seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Ina’s Life will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Davis Funerals and Cremations Chapel by Pastor Chris Painter.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the service. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of the Piedmont.
