Donna Michelle Hammond
TRINITY — Donna Michelle Jones Hammond, 46, of Trinity, died Friday at the Hospice Home at High Point. A resident of the High Point, Archdale/Trinity area all of her life, she was born January 21, 1967, in High Point, a daughter of Kenneth Ray Jones and the late Nancy Ellen Smith Jones. Mrs. Hammond was a coach and board member of the GuilRand Youth Soccer League. She was the office manager for Cornerstone Family Practice in Archdale and enjoyed going to the beach. She attended Crossover Community Church. In addition to her mother she was also preceded in death by her stepmother Norma Baird Jones.
Mrs. Hammond is survived by her husband Anthony J. Hammond of the home and three children, Anthony Jewel “A J” Hammond, II of Thomasville, Brittani Michelle Hammond and Cayla Rae Hammond both of Trinity. She is also survived by her father Kenneth Ray Jones and wife Frankie of New London, two sisters Cassandra “Sandy” Brown and husband David of Oak Ridge and Lisa Reedy of Denton and special friends Christy Welch, Debra Nicholson, Christy Renn, Deanna Hoffman, Ginger Cromer and Renee Gray.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Donna Michelle Jones Hammond will be held 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, with the Rev. Darryl Love officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.

Charles Robert Starkey
LEXINGTON — Mr. Charles Robert Starkey, 70, a resident of 999 Ernest Snider Road, died Friday, October 4, 2013, at Thomasville Medical Center. He was born in Greenville, S.C., a son of Melvin Starkey and Elizabeth Whitman Starkey and had been a resident of Davidson County most of his life. He was of the Baptist faith and was retired from Coble Dairy (now Paris Foods) in Lexington. His hobbies were woodworking and restoring antique furniture.
Surviving are a daughter, Brooke Weatherman and her husband Mark of Salisbury; three grandchildren, Hannah Frick, Chase Frick, and Austin Frick; four sisters, Betty Sherriff of Lexington, Linda Hunt of Lexington, Nancy Barnes and her husband Reid of Thomasville, and Judy Barnes of Lexington; three brothers, Jimmy Starkey and his wife Gloria Jean of Thomasville, and Jack Starkey and Glenn Starkey, both of Lexington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis McLaurin.
A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville by the Rev. Bill Hale. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 p.m. until the hour of service at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville. HIGH POINT — Janie (Cadwell) Adair, 76, passed away Friday, October 4, 2013, at Westchester Village at Providence Place.
She was born on October 14, 1936, to the late John Wesley and Maggie (Ethridge) Cadwell. She was a former employee of Hunter Farms.
Mrs. Adair loved to travel, especially to Hawaii. She also enjoyed shopping and attending church social events and day trips.
She was an active and faithful member of Faith Baptist Church, Archdale.
Mrs. Adair is survived by a sister-in-law, Montana Texas “Pat” Wiggins of St. Augustine, FL; seven nieces and nephews, Robert Darren Wiggins and his wife, Donna of St. Augustine, FL, Ronald David Wiggins and his wife, Summer of Gainesville, FL, Deborah Ann Gravitt and her husband, Keith of Gainesville, FL, Teresa Houchens of Gainesville, FL, Kenneth Ray Cooley of St. Augustine, FL, Thomas Cooley and his wife, Judy of Jacksonville, FL and Anita Faye Robinson and her husband, Gary of Martin, KY; and several great-nieces, nephews, and friends.
A celebration of life funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at Faith Baptist Church, Archdale, with Pastor Dave Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cumby Family Funeral Service, 206 Trindale Road, Archdale.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church Building Fund, 5744 Mendenhall Road, Archdale, N.C. 27263.
