Willard Roy Freeman
ARCHDALE — Willard Roy Freeman passed away on Sept. 27, 2013, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C., after a lengthy battle with diabetes. Willard was born on June 23, 1945, in Bryson City, N.C., to James Andrew Freeman and Eula Hill Davis Freeman.
He was a self-employed salesman as long as his health permitted. He was of the Baptist faith. He attended Almond Elementary School and Swain County High School in Bryson City, N.C. He has been a resident of Archdale for many years. Willard enjoyed NASCAR, wrestling and living by the water when he lived in Anderson, S.C.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a babysister, Mary Ellen, and a brother, David Freeman. He was also predeceased by two nephews, Alexander DeHart and Terry Carlton, and two nieces Tammy Lynn and Gloria Ann DeHart. He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Cranford and her fiancé Scottie Sprouse, Angela and Suzan Freeman. Also surviving are four sisters, Naomi DeHart, Susie Walker, Maxine Skelton and Donna Carlton. He is also survived by four brothers, Dillard Freeman, James Freeman, Clifford Freeman and Donald Freeman. He also has three grandchildren, Aryana, Alissa and Aayden.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Joshua “Josh” Allen Hill
THOMASVILLE — Mr. Joshua “Josh” Allen Hill, age 36, a resident of Black Lake Road, passed away Tuesday, Oct 1, 2013, in High Point Regional Health System. He was born March 26, 1977, in Guilford County, a son of Gary Allen Hill, Jr. and Teresa Hundley Hill. Josh was co-owner of the T-Ville Diner and attended First Christian Baptist Church of Randleman.
Surviving are his parents, Gary and Teresa Hill of High Point; one son, Joshua Dane Hill of Thomasville; two step-sons, Gauge Love and Stone Love, both of Thomasville; paternal grandmother, Yvonne Hill of Archdale, NC; and one brother, Rev. Stephen Brian Hill and wife Mandy of Sophia, NC.
Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, Oct 5, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Ashland Street Baptist Church with Rev. Barney Law and Rev. Stephen Hill officiating. There will be no formal visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Ashland Street Baptist Church Missions Fund, 515 Ashland Street, Archdale, NC 27263. Nancy Jane Lawson
HIGH POINT — Mrs. Nancy Jane Lawson, a resident of High Point, left us on September 30, 2013, at High Point Regional Hospital. Nancy was born December 7, 1932, in Latrobe, PA, the daughter of Peter Paul and Edith Henderson Lechner. While living in Naples, FL, she graduated from nursing school and worked at Naples Community Hospital. She and her husband William G. Lawson moved to Jamestown, North Carolina, in 1981, and she was a nurse at Pennybyrn at Maryfield for more than 20 years before retiring.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband in 2003.
Surviving are her children, Olivia Kathleen Binkley and her husband Calvin, Eric William Lawson and wife Arleen, Brent H. Lawson and wife Lori, Edith Ann Long and husband Brian, Amy L. Tedder and husband David. She is also survived by her brother, Peter Paul “Sonny” Lechner and wife Jo Ann from Latrobe, PA. She is survived by grandchildren, Justine Egbert, Peter Binkley, Eric G. Lawson, Shawn Lawson, Jessica Collins, Nancy Long, Ashley Tedder, Katelyn Lawson, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Vanstory Chapel, 1900 Vanstory St., Greensboro, NC 27403 on Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Private family entombment services will be held at Guilford Memorial Park Mausoleum.
