 Raymond Phipps Bartlett
TRINITY — Raymond Phipps Bartlett, 86, of Trinity, North Carolina, and formerly of Galax, passed away Friday, September 13, 2013, at his home. Funeral was Monday in Galax. Interment was in the Monta Vista Cemetery. Military rites were conducted at the graveside by Grayson VFW Post #7726.

Virginia Proctor White Dorsett
THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Virginia Proctor White Dorsett, 91, went to her Heavenly home on September 16, 2013, at Pine Ridge Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born on January 19, 1922, in Guilford County, NC, to Tom Proctor and Bessie Stalker Proctor, both of whom preceded her in death. She and her husband Murry owned Pier Inn Motel and White’s Bait and Tackle Shop at Carolina Beach.
On October 11, 1941, she married Murry White, who she shared 37 years of marriage before he passed on January 26, 1978. She was also preceded in death by husband, Worth Dorsett on September 3, 2006; son, Tommy White on May 22, 1985; two granddaughters, Leanne White Payne and Stephanie White; brothers, R.V., Clyde, Bobby, and McKinley Proctor; and sister, Lavata Babson.
Surviving are her son, Harold White of Thomasville; great-granddaughter, Kerrie Johnson and husband Nathaniel; two great-great grandchildren, Layla and Lincoln Johnson; brother, Elmer Proctor of High Point; sisters, Hazel Whitfield of GA, Arlene Moore of Thomasville, Maxine Robbins of High Point, and Lorraine Saunders of High Point; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at J.C. Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Elton Wilborne officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery in High Point. The family will receive friends on Wednesday one hour prior to the service from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times at the home of her son, Harold, Bell Drive, Thomasville. Coy Coolidge Grubb
THOMASVILLE — Mr. Coy Coolidge Grubb, 89, a resident of Denton Road, died Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at the Henry Etta & Bruce Hinkle Hospice Home. He was born on July 22, 1924, in Davidson County to David Lee Grubb and Ida Elizabeth Black Grubb. He retired from Brass Craft Inc. and was a lifelong resident of Davidson County. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church since 1952, where he was a dedicated Sunday School teacher for many, many years and fulfilled many different positions at the church. He was a U.S. Army veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Arvil and Odell Grubb; and sisters, Bertha Grubb Pope, Mary Grubb Clodfelter, Nova Grubb Embler, Edna Grubb Clodfelter and Zondal Grubb Cagle.
On December 26, 1946, he married Lalar Hughes, who survives of the home; also surviving are his son, Harold Grubb and wife Greta of Thomasville; granddaughter, Abbye Pourcho and husband Glenn; three great-granddaughters, Katie, Bridget, and Rebecca Pourcho; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. David Bowman officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. and at other times at the home.

Tamara Jean Mashburn
HIGH POINT — Tamara Jean Mashburn, 45, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2013, at her residence.
Tamara was born on May 29, 1968, in Guilford County, a daughter of James Tomlin of Archdale and the late Betty Jean Truett.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who enjoyed spending her days with her family, listening to music, cooking and playing bingo. She was also a very spiritual woman who loved God.
Mrs. Mashburn is survived by two daughters, Alicia Ortiz and her husband, Angel of Gibsonville, and Emily Spencer of Madison; a son Brandon Spencer of Whitsett; and three grandchildren, Jayden Ortiz, Joel Ortiz and Alaina Kinney.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 19, 2013, at Cumby Family Funeral Service, 1015 Eastchester Drive, High Point.

Inez Godfrey Motley
THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Inez Godfrey Motley, 94, a resident of Unity Street, Thomasville, passed away Tuesday, Sept.17, 2013, at Hinkle Hospice Home. She was born on Sept. 21, 1918, in Davidson County to Joseph Edgar Godfrey and Mary Jane Bean Godfrey. She retired from Parkdale Mills with 57 years of service and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Thelma Cranford Weisner; and one brother, Clifford Godfrey. She married Rev. Vestal Howard Motley on December 30, 1936. He preceded her in death on February 28, 1977.
Surviving are two daughters, Dianne Everhart of Thomasville, and Gloria Myers and husband Dan of Lexington; three sons, Bobby Motley of Denton, Clifford Motley and wife Carolyn of Archdale, and Ronald Motley of Thomasville; one sister, Marie Bowers and husband Aubrey of Thomasville; nine grandchildren, Timmy Motley, Lori Ann Roach, Scott Motley, Teresa Fields, Sharon Brewer, Ken Frazier, Jr., Kevin Frazier, Jeremy Myers, and Amber Makar; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eric Lineberry officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. LEXINGTON — James Lee Sechrest, 82, of Copley Street, died Monday, September 16, 2013, at Hinkle Hospice House.

Louise C. Tuttle
HIGH POINT — Edna Louise Cole Tuttle, passed away Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, in Kingswood Nursing Home in Aberdeen. She was formerly of Cardiff Lane in High Point.
Louise was born January 15, 1922, in Randolph County, a daughter of Isaac Jonah and Lizzie Lucas Cole. Louise was one of 12 children. Louise was preceded in death by her husband Charles Thomas Tuttle of High Point.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed playing and singing with the Joyful Sounds Band.
Louise is survived by sisters: Elaine Cole Hendrix, Raeford, NC, Myrta Cole Davis, Aberdeen, NC, and Ruby Easterling, Southern Pines, NC, and sisters-in-law: Vera Cole, Aberdeen, NC; Edith Cole, Sophia, NC and Nellie Cole, Siler City, NC and many nephews and nieces.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in Floral Garden Park Cemetery in High Point by the Reverend Dr. Matthew Farabow. The family will speak to guests at the cemetery.
