Samuel Coe “S.C.” Easter
HIGH POINT – Mr. Samuel Coe Easter, age 88 passed away November 17th at his residence in High Point, NC.
Mr. Easter, known by family and friends as” S.C.”, was born in Lexington, N.C. on January 29, 1924 to Fred Walter, Sr. and Dora Fouts Easter. “ S. C.” served his country proudly for two and one half years in the US Army Air Corp. He retired from Fiber Sales Corp of N.C. as a salesman. He was known as a talented furniture designer, builder, and upholsterer. He attended the John Bender Community Center at Baden Lake, N.C. “S.C.” enjoyed boating, skiing, fishing, hunting as long as his health permitted. Always a sports fan, he enjoyed watching football and basketball on television.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Fred, Jr., Norman, and Kenneth Easter and his half -brothers, Crawford, John, Jim, and Oscar. On October 5, 1945 he married the love of his life, Mevelyn “Mitch” Mitchell, who survives of the home along with his devoted companion dog, “Duke”.
Also surviving is his brother-in-law and wife Bill and Billie Mitchell; niece, Millicent Mitchell, his great-nephew; Mitchell Abdullah and his nephew, Rick Mitchell. Also surviving are other loving nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 p.m.in Oakwood Municipal Cemetery by the Reverend Donald Dawalt. The family will receive friends at Sechrest Funeral Service on E. Lexington Avenue on Wednesday from 12:30 until 1:30 pm prior to the graveside service.

THOMASVILLE – Mr. Wesley Elbert Lamm, Jr., age 62, died Sunday, October 18th at his residence. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.
THOMASVILLE – Mr. Preston Moyer Leonard, 67, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, died Friday, November 16, 2012 at the Henry Etta & Bruce Hinkle Hospice House. He was born on January 7, 1945 in Davidson County to the late Robert Moir Leonard and the late Pauline Cranford Leonard. He worked for 23 years at Air Power in High Point, loved being with his family and was an avid Maryland Terrapins and New York Yankees fan.
On June 30, 1968, he married Elizabeth Kristy Yarbrough, who survives of the home. He is also survived by two daughters, Amy Elizabeth Leonard Tesh and Amanda Kristen Leonard Pierce and husband Chad, all of Thomasville; son, Preston Matthew Leonard and wife Amy of Thomasville; seven grandchildren, Hope Elizabeth Lambeth, Christopher Blake Tesh, Cassidy Faith Tesh, Colby Logan Tesh, Caleb Matthew Leonard, Mikayla Shea Leonard, and Addison Claire Pierce; brother, Tony Leonard and wife Carolyn of Thomasville; sisters, Phyllis Schreck of Baltimore, MD, Wanda Merrill of Thomasville, Jodi Newell and husband David of Lexington, and Lisa Simerson and husband Keith of Linwood; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, whom he dearly loved. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Brian Crady officiating.
Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 pm. TRINITY – Lorene Stacey of Trinity, NC, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 17, 2012. She was preceded in death by a dear loved one, Jim Testerman, of Konnarack, VA, her parents, Lee and Bertha Stacey of Jolo, WV, and five brothers.
She leaves behind her loving daughter, Betty Davis and her husband Clint; three grandchildren, Ryan, Breanna and Chase all of Cartersville, VA; three sisters, her twin Josephine Taylor of Trinity, Dorothy Traylor of Chucky, TN, and Gay Rogers and husband Gaylord of Jefferson, OH; six brothers, Bennie and wife Kathy of Trinity, Curtis of Trinity, Woodrow and wife Theresa of Troutman, Darrell and wife Brenda of Bluff City, TN, Terry and wife Brenda of Bristol, VA, and Coy and wife Betty of Jolo, WV.
Lorene had a great sense of humor, always ready with a smile. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed by all.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 3:00pm at Sechrest Funeral Service in Archdale. Burial will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery in high Point. Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-3:00pm at the funeral home prior to service.
