TRINITY — Betty Briles Yates, 70, of the Jackson Creek Community died Dec. 15 at her residence. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, Denton. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
LEXINGTON — Eva Mae Walser McLemore, 73, died Dec. 15, 2012 at her home.
A memorial service will be held 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington.
Ruth Sharpe Phillips
LEXINGTON — Ruth Sharpe Phillips, 91, died Dec. 15, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Forsyth County. A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Beulah United Church of Christ. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday in the church fellowship hall.
RALEIGH - Bernice Marshall, 81, died Dec. 15, 2012, at her home. Cremation services have been entrusted to Triad Cremation Society & Chapel.

LEXINGTON — Lila Mae Latham Dunn Barnes, 89, died Dec. 16, 2012 at the Hinkle Hospice House. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral.
Margaret Sapp Johnson
ARCHDALE — Margaret Sapp Johnson, 90 of Archdale died Saturday at the Hospice Home at High Point. Born October 8, 1922 in Forsyth County, she is a daughter of the late Paul Edgar Sapp and Hattie Kirby Sapp. She retired from Woodmark Originals. After retirement Mrs. Johnson volunteered at Elm Towers for over 20 years. She was a member of Burton Street Missionary Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her husband Bill Johnson in 2003 and an infant daughter.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by four children, Sandra Jones of Thomasville, Anita Johnson of Southport, Marvin Johnson of Trinity and Richard Johnson and wife Penni Goodpasture-Johnson of Carolina Beach, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and her dog Tito.
Funeral services for Mrs. Johnson will be held 11:00 am Tuesday at Burton Street Missionary Methodist Church with the Reverend Jeff Burton and the Reverend Elton Wilborne officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:30 until 8:30 pm at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale.
