HIGH POINT — Helen Olson, 87 resident of River Landing at Sandy Ridge, died Dec. 14, 2012. Arrangements are pending with Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point.
HIGH POINT – Everlina Jackson, 64, died Dec. 15, 2012 in High Point Regional Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, in Zion Tabernacle F. B. H. Church in Thomasville. Visitation will be at the church 30 minutes before the funeral service.
ARCHDALE — Margaret Sapp Johnson, 90, of North Pointe Assisted Living, died Dec. 15, 2012. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at Burton Street Missionary Methodist Church in High Point. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale.
GREENSBORO — Christie Lynn Parson, 44, died Dec. 13, 2012 at Moses H. Cone Hospital. Funeral Services are incomplete at C.C. Hodges Funeral & Cremation Services, Asheboro.
ASHEBORO — Evelyn Greene McNeill, 59 died Dec. 11, 2012 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. A funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Wesley Chapel AME Zion Church. C.C. Hodges Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the family.
Carlene Hooper Madison
HIGH POINT — Carlene Hooper Madison, 74 of High Point died Thursday at High Point Regional Hospital. Born February 12, 1938 in Haywood County, Mrs. Madison is a daughter of the late Carl Hooper and Wilma Moss Hooper. She taught at risk youth and retired from the Guilford County School System.
Mrs. Madison is survived by her husband Robert Lee Madison, II of the home and two children, Holly Madison Davis and husband Todd of Sylva and Robert Lee Madison, III and wife Amy of High Point. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Taylor M. Boyd, Ashley E. Madison, Dylan L. Madison, Tyler R. Madison and a brother Gary Hooper of Waynesville.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Carlene Hooper Madison will be held 4:00 pm Monday in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point. The family will greet friends following the service.

Dorothy “Dot” Smith Holmes
RALEIGH — Dorothy “Dot” Smith Holmes, 99, passed away December 12, 2012. Dot was born in Rock Hill, SC, on November 18, 1913, the daughter of N. L. and Grace Smith. She lived in High Point, NC, for most of her life, moving to Abbotswood at Stonehenge in Raleigh in 1996 to be near her children.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank M. Holmes, who died in 1962; two sisters, Nancy S. Brandon and Virginia S. Anderson; and brother, N. L. Smith, Jr.
Dot is survived by her three children, Frank M. Holmes and wife Rita of Raleigh, Susan H. Phelps and husband Henry of Raleigh, and Tom Holmes and wife Nancy of Charlotte; her four grandchildren, Meg P. Brantley and husband Quinton of Clover, SC, Renn Phelps and wife Stephanie of Greenville, NC; Brandon Holmes and wife Caroline, and Whitney Holmes, all of Charlotte; and her brother, James T. Smith of Mint Hill, NC. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Mary Charles and Henry Phelps of Greenville, NC, and Emerson Brantley of Clover, SC.
A graveside service was held on Friday, December 14, at Floral Gardens Memorial Park in High Point. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929.
Arrangements were made through Sechrest Funeral Service of High Point.
Earline Davis Rickman Lovin
HIGH POINT — Earline Davis Rickman Lovin, 81, of Westchester Drive passed away December 10, 2012 at Westchester Manor.
She was born May 2, 1931 in Stanton, Alabama to the late John Lee and Tarva Harrison Davis.
One of Earline’s greatest joys was assisting her husband Harold in pastoring Wesleyan churches in NC. Their last pastorate together was Firestone Wesleyan Church in Gastonia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Rev. Harold Lee Rickman and Rev. C. Wesley Lovin.
Mrs. Lovin is survived by her children, Steve Rickman, Tim Rickman and wife Patti, Jill Boone and husband Dennis; sisters, Euelle Bell, Hardie Medders, Naomi Hughey; brothers, Charles Davis, Moody Davis and wife Billie Faye, Morris Davis and wife Vinelle; grandchildren, Casey Biggs and wife Karen Malay, Dillon Boone, Will Rickman, Jenny Rickman Derr and husband Zach, Lee Rickman, Matt Rickman; and great granddaughter, Riley McKenna Biggs.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Firestone Wesleyan Church with Dr. D. Clifton Wood officiating with a reception to follow in the fellowship hall.

THOMASVILLE — James Edward Holt, Sr., 76, passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2012.
Services will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, December 16, 2012 at First Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 1:30. Burial will take place Monday, December 17, 2012 at Guilford Memorial Park.
James leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Hazel R. Holt; four sons, Donnie (Carla) Holt, Terry Davis, Allen (Kimberly) Davis, James Holt, Jr and Stephan (Diahann); one daughter, Tammy Davis; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren.
