Lorensa Hernandez
HIGH POINT — Mrs. Lorensa Hernandez, 68 of High Point, departed this life on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was born in Mexico on June 9, 1944.

Deborah “Debbie” Hilton
THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Deborah “Debbie” Hill Hilton, 61, a resident of Rich Hilton Road, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. 
She was born on May 4, 1952 in Forsyth County, NC to the late Ralph Hill and the late Gertrude Hilton Hill. She was employed at Brass Craft in Thomasville and attended Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.
On July 13, 1969, she married, James Fletcher “Jimmy” Hilton, who survives of the home; also surviving are a sister, Tammy Combs of Germanton, NC; and special friends, Donna and Hazel.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the J.C. Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Bill Poole officiating.  Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. until the service hour of 2 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorials may be directed to Mt. Luther Stanford Leonard
THOMASVILLE — Mr. Luther Stanford Leonard, 88, a resident of Gra-Lan Drive, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at the Henry Etta & Bruce Hinkle Hospice House. 
He was born on Aug. 2, 1925, in Davidson County to William Alexander (W.A.) Leonard and Myrtle White Leonard.  He retired as a plant manager from Bates Nitewear in Greensboro.  He proudly served as a US Navy WWII veteran and was a member of First United Methodist Church.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Louise Cranford Leonard on September 21, 1995 and Frances Lee Leonard in 2005; brothers, George, Roy, and Harold Leonard; and sisters, Mary Powell, Doris Reynolds, and Evelyn Leonard.
Surviving are his son, Steve Leonard and wife Pat of Thomasville; daughter, Linda Lee and husband Darrell of Thomasville; grandchildren, Candice Hinson and husband William E. “Eddie” Hinson II, of Archdale, and Jeffrey Michael Lee and wife Janella of West Jefferson, NC; great-granddaughter, Natalie Hinson; sister, Wilma Baird of Thomasville; his beloved canine companion, Zack; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, Nov. 18, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Charles “Jerry” Gerald Pusey
RICHMOND, Va. — Charles (Jerry) Gerald Pusey, 82, of Richmond, VA passed away on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
He was born on May 5, 1931 in Richmond, VA to the Late Samuel and Alice Pusey.  He is also preceded in death by a brother, Alfred Pusey and a sister, Joyce Clement.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Donia Pusey; daughter, Beth High and her husband, Staffan; son, Steve Pusey; grandchildren, John Pusey, Hallie High, Caroline Pusey and Ian High; sister in law, Jere Fitzgerald and her husband, Buck; nephew, Mark Pusey; and niece, Kim Crawford.
Jerry graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Richmond.  He served his country honorably in the U.S. Marines Corps during the Korean Conflict.  He began his career in the transportation industry with Old Dominion Freight Line where he eventually became Vice President.  He retired from Overnite Transportation (now UPS).  He was an active member of Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Richmond most of his life.  Jerry enjoyed trout fishing with his son and friends.  He took pride and enjoyed working in his yard.  Jerry was a member of the Sandbox Club with a group of his lifelong friends.  But above all his life revolved around spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel.  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at St. Andrews on the Sound Episcopal Church.  Burial will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens.

David Leon Robinson
HIGH POINT — Mr. David Leon Robinson age 92, of High Point passed away Friday November 15h in the Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury.
Mr. Robinson was born May 7, 1921 in Waynesville, NC to Walter E. and Lucy Jenkins Robinson. On April 9, 1943 he married Rachel Cox who preceded him in death on June 7, 1997.  He was educated in Waynesville and High Point Schools and served in the Air Force in World War II.  He retired from Snow Lumber Co and had been a volunteer at High Point Regional Hospital and the Presbyterian Home.  Mr. Robinson was a member of  Montlieu Avenue Methodist Church and had served as Sunday School Teacher for the Iveigh Sunday School Class.  He was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Robinson and three brothers, Dewey, Gene, and Ed Robinson.
Surviving are his son David W. Robinson and wife Faye of Winston-Salem and three grandchildren; Matthew Robinson and wife Jessica, Perry and Anna Robinson and two great grandchildren: Ana Lucille Robinson and Emma Lane Robinson. He has one sister, Mrs. Billie Allen of Wilmington.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 19th at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Sechrest Funeral Service 1301 E. Lexington Avenue, High Point by the Reverend Dr. Lauren Anderson.  The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. prior to the service.   Interment in Floral Garden Park Cemetery will be at a later date.

Mamie Leake Simon
HIGH POINT — Ms. Mamie Leake Simon, 86, of 805 Vail Avenue died on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at Hospice Home at High Point.
Mamie was born on June 3, 1927, to Netta Bennett Leake and Edgar Alexander Leake in Midway, N. C.  She has lived in High Point most of her life and was educated in the Guilford County School System.  Mamie managed the Lighthouse Grill with her brother and was later employed by Fli-Back Toys as a Supervisor.  She was one of the founding members of Temple Memorial Baptist Church where she served diligently as a Sunday School teacher and active member of Missionary Group #2.
Mrs. Simon was preceded in death by her parents; son, Leonard J. Simon Jr.; brothers, Norman, Edward, and James Leake; sister, Christine Johnson; and ex-husband Leonard J. Simon, Sr.
Surviving relatives include two sons, James Edward Simon, Sr. (Betty), and Darrell Norman Simon; daughters, Carolyn A. Craig (William), Gloria L. Hinson, and Jamie D. Linton (Theodore) all of High Point; fifteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; one brother Harry Leake of Durham, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be noon, Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at Temple Memorial Baptist Church, 1458 Cedrow Drive.  Burial will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens.  Family visitation will be at the church on Monday, 11 to 12 p.m. and other times at the residence.  Johnson and Sons Funeral Home is assisting the family.  Online condolences may be made at  The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Hospice Home at High Point and High Point Regional Hospital.

THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Dorothy Anne Crone Stewart, 69, a resident of Thomasville, died Nov. 15, 2013.
