Sarah Ann Byrd
THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Sarah Ann Byrd, 69, of Lambeth Street passed away Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, at her home. She was born on Jan. 20, 1944, in Bluefield, W. Va., the daughter of Reuben Kelly and Laura Mitchem Graham. She had lived in this area since 1989 moving from North Fork, W.Va. She was a homemaker and a member of Friendly Baptist Church. She loved camping and cookouts at her home but she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Clarence “Bud” Graham, her parents, and her beloved son, Jason Byrd in 2005. On Oct. 1, 1966, she married Danny Ray Byrd, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are her daughters, Teresa Ann Thomason and husband Leonard of Thomasville, Anna Rabon and husband Jeff of Asheboro; sister, Dorothy Marshall of Bluewell, W.Va., brothers, Lonnie Graham and wife Lois and Don Graham and wife Pam all of Bluefield, W Va., and James Graham and wife Bernice of Falls Mills, Va.; six grandchildren, Kayla, Kelly, Kaitlin, Andrew, Adam, and Aaron, and two great grandchildren, Connor and Mason.
Funeral services will be on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home with pastor Darrell Gray Summey officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Eugene Webster Henderson
THOMASVILLE — Mr. Eugene Webster Henderson, 72, of Thomasville died on Nov. 6, 2013, at his residence.
Mr. Henderson was born on Nov. 13, 1940, in Forsyth County to Frank Hunter and Odessa Mabrey Henderson. He worked in the furniture industry as a boiler operator and at March Cabinets in High Point. He was married to Eunice Marie Boothe Henderson, who preceded him in death in 2005. He was also preceded by his parents and two sisters, Dorothy Scott and Peggy Tuttle.
Surviving are three sons, Michael Henderson, James Henderson and wife Robin and Roger Henderson and wife Joanne; one daughter Bonnie Norton and husband Cornelius; one brother Ervin “Steve” Henderson and wife Thelma; one sister, Lovey Mae Dorsett; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at the True Church of God, 7274 Wright Road, Thomasville, with pastor Clarence Stoneman officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Helen Johnson Rogers
DAVIDSON COUNTY — Helen J. Rogers passed away peacefully on Nov. 2, 2013. Helen was a lifelong resident of Davidson County being born Dec. 5, 1928, to the late E.G. and Bessie Craven Johnson. She is survived by her husband of 53 years Richard Brantley Rogers. Other survivors include brother Donald and sisters-in-law JoAn, Shelby and Ola Johnson, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Walter, Clyde, Albert, Thurman and Billy.
Helen was a member of Allendale Baptist Church 900 E. Springfield Road, High Point, NC 27263, where memorials may be made.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. at Allendale Baptist Church.
Special thanks to the staff at Shannon Gray Rehab Center for providing care and comfort to Helen for the past several years.
John Richard Rotroff
John Richard Rotroff, 57, lost his final battle with cancer on Oct. 31, 2013. He was born Dec. 15, 1955, in Newport News, Va., to Richard and Marilyn.
John was a gentle man who grew up surfing near Satellite Beach, Fla. He enjoyed listening to music, adventuring outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. He was passionate about his job as program coordinator for the Heart Strides Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab Center and was instrumental in its development. He loved brewing and sampling good beer and sharing his discoveries with others. A skilled craftsman, John added many improvements to their home. He played his guitar with college buddies, Lamar and Mark, and his two sons, Daniel and Matthew. He also loved eating good food, which was always plentiful, prepared by his wife, Ellen.
Preceding him in death were his father, Richard Rotroff and brother, Jeff Rotroff.
Surviving are his wife and soul mate, Ellen; sons, Daniel and Matthew; brother, Tom; sister-in-law, Ann; and mother, Marilyn.
A private memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at the home of a family friend in Lewisville. A celebration of his life followed at River Ridge Tap House.
The family is grateful for the wonderful care and compassion given by Dr. Thomas Grote throughout John’s long struggle with cancer. He epitomizes what it means to be a physician.

HIGH POINT — Jennifer Nicole Smith, 31, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at High Point Regional Hospital.
