Isac Coltrane
ASHEBORO — Isac Galarza Coltrane, infant son of Shelly Coltrane and Jorge Galarza of Asheboro, died Monday, Oct. 28, 2013.
Funeral will be held at 11a.m. Saturday at Randolph Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday at  Ridge Funeral Home.

 

Frank Davis
LEXINGTON — Frank Harvey Davis, 77, of Gleneagle Lane, died Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at Forsyth Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Greer’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home.

 

Jimmy Floyd
ASHEBORO — Jimmy Lee Floyd, 59, of Asheboro, died Monday, Oct. 28, 2013.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Sawyersville Wesleyan Church. Visitation will be held 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Ridge Funeral Home & Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.


Debra Sowers Galloway
THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Debra Sowers Galloway, 61, resident of Thomasville, died Sunday afternoon at High Point Regional Hospital.
Debra was born July 18, 1952, in High Point, a daughter of Richard and Wilma Summey Sowers. She had been a resident of Thomasville and the High Point vicinity all of her life and was of the Baptist faith. She was a graduate of the High Point Regional School of Nursing and was employed in the emergency room of High Point Regional Hospital. Debra was very involved in the cancer program, Relay For Life.  On Aug. 27, 1995, she married Michael Ray Galloway, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are two sons, Emery Lee Galloway and wife Shannette of Thomasville and Christopher Michael Galloway of High Point; father and mother, Richard and Wilma Sowers; sister, Sue Cain and husband Bob of Archdale; brothers, Tommy Sowers and wife Susan of Thomasville, Jimmy Sowers and wife Brenda of Colfax, Jerry Sowers of Newport News, Va., and Dale Sowers and fiancée Jennifer of Pennsylvania; and five grandchildren, Kolby, Kelsey, Kadie, Hannah, and Leeland Galloway.
A celebration of Debra’s life will be held Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Oak View Baptist Church, High Point, with the Rev. Michael Sowers officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale.

Joyce C. Luther
ASHEBORO — Joyce Callicutt Luther, age 86, of Asheboro died Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at her home.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Edwin and Sarah Raines Luther of Hamlet, N.C.; son and daughter-in-law, J. Arnold and  Darlene Salter Luther of Randleman, N.C.; son: David Luther of Asheboro, N.C.; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and William Smith of Saluda, Va.; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Mischa Garrett Luther of Asheboro, N.C.; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and William Moffitt Jr. of Asheboro, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends, Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro, N.C. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, at 3 p.m. at High Pine Wesleyan Church, 4492 High Pine Church Road, Asheboro, with the Rev. Todd Leach, Pastor Jonathan Shook and the Rev. George Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Leon Thomas Lyndon
THOMASVILLE — Mr. Leon Thomas Lyndon, 81, of Blackberry Road, Thomasville, passed away at his residence on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013.  He was born on Oct. 9, 1932, in Davidson County, the son of J. E. Lyndon and Annie Thornburg Lyndon. He served in the U. S. Air Force.  He worked with the N. C. Highway Patrol and worked for Goodyear and Huggins Tire in the early ’60s. Later in life, he was a salesman for furniture finishing materials. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, a former member of Tabernacle Lions Club, East Davidson Hunting Club and Luther Mountain Hunting Club. In later years enjoyed a track of land in Jackson Creek he called “the farm.” He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Lisa Jane Lyndon; one sister, Luna Gray Summers; and one brother Lawrence Lyndon.
He was an avid outdoorsman whose love for hunting and fishing was only surpassed by his love for his son, Brett Lyndon of Thomasville.  Also surviving is his companion of 35 years, Carol Varner of Lexington; one sister, Loreen Barry of Thomasville; one grandson, Will Ward of Denton; many more children that he chose to love; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial graveside service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Holly Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Mike Burris officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service and later at Leon’s home. Bobby Mize
LEXINGTON — Bobby Lee Mize, 84, of Julia Lane, died Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at Abbotts Creek Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home. Burial follows in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.


Jeffrey Todd Murrow
HIGH POINT —Jeffrey Todd Murrow, 47, of High Point, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 29, after a seven-year battle with cancer.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Green Street Baptist Church. Dr. Robert Steele and Mr. Richard Hardee of Green Street Baptist Church will be officiating. Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, at GSBC.  Burial will follow the funeral at Floral Garden Park.
Jeff was born in High Point on Sept. 18, 1966. He graduated from Ledford Senior High School in 1984 and continued his education at High Point College and University of North Carolina at Wilmington. While at Ledford, Jeff was a four-sports letterman and an all-conference performer in basketball and in football.
Jeff was vice-president for Murrow’s Transfer, Inc. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed watching N.C. State athletics.  He was also actively involved in his Connection Class at Green Street Baptist Church and served as a basketball coach at High Point Christian Academy, where his children attend school.
Jeff is survived by his beloved wife of 22 years, Angela, and his three children: Dylan Murrow (15), Chloe Murrow (13), and Dalton Murrow (11). He is also survived by his grandmother, Dorothy Cook, his parents, Fred A. and Brenda Murrow, his sister, Kristie Murrow Green and husband Eddie Greene, and six nephews and one niece.
Jeff is preceded in death by his grandparents, William Clifford Murrow, Minnie Beck Murrow, and Oscar Lee Cook.

Virginia Styles Price
THOMASVILLE — Martha Virginia Styles Price of Piedmont Crossing, Thomasville, N.C., died Friday Oct. 25, 2013. She was 100 years old. She was married to Wilkes C. Price until his death in 1984.
She was born in Asheville, N.C., Dec. 13, 1912. She was the daughter of the late J. Scroop Styles and Eloise Frisbee Styles. She graduated in the first class of Grace High School, Asheville, N.C., and Weaver College, Weaverville, N.C. She lived in Asheville, N.C. until she moved to Thomasville. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Asheville. Her interests were family, bridge and golf.  Fifteen years ago, well after the death of her husband, she moved to Thomasville, N.C. This put her closer to both family and friend and companion J. Carlyle Rutledge of Kannapolis.
She was predeceased by her husband and brothers James S. Styles, Capt. Ralph E. Styles and Judge William M. Styles. She is survived by sons John T. Price of Thomasville and Wilkes B. Price and his wife Barbara of Trinity, N.C. In addition are five granddaughters and seven great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. at Memorial United Methodist Church in Thomasville, N.C.

The family will receive friends in the CEC behind Memorial Church after the service.

 

Ryan E. Treffinger
Ryan E. Treffinger, 27, briefly of High Point, N.C., formerly of Hillside, N.J., died Oct. 26, 2013.
Beloved son of Patricia (Johnson) Treffinger. Loving brother of Bre-Ann Treffinger. Loving uncle of Zoe Treffinger and nephew of Kathy Belles, Robert and Sue Johnson, Carol and James Edward and John Leahy. Also survived by many cousins and friends. Ryan was a cashier at the Wilco Store in High Point, N.C., and was a member of the Linden Elks BPOE No. 289.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Growney Funeral Home  (www.growneyfuneral.com), 1070 N. Broad St., Hillside, N.J.
