HIGH POINT— John Michael Khoutsvanh, 21, of High Point, died Thursday, October 24, 2013.
John was born August 3, 1992, in Guilford County. He was a member of Green Street Baptist Church and loved attending there. He enjoyed watching horror movies and loved listening to music. He is preceded in death by his mother, Vixay Khoutsvanh.
John is survived by his father and stepmother, May and Kinnalone Khoutsvanh; brothers, Roger Khoutsvanh, Michael Khoutsvanh, and Brandon Khoutsvanh; aunts and uncles, Kirwin and Thai Khoutsvanh, Toy Khoutsvanh and Boun Arphai, Nelson and Vane Tagalk; and several cousins.
A celebration of John’s life will be held Monday, October 28, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Green Street Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 27, 2013, from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. at Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point.

THOMASVILLE — Mr. Max Earl Leonard, 74, of Plank Road, Thomasville, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2013, at Hinkle Hospice Home. He was born on April 10, 1939, in Davidson County, the son of Earlie Smith Leonard and Florence Kennedy Leonard. He had 40 years of service with Thomas Built Buses. He was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church and the Thomasville Moose Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Patty A. Leonard.
On March 22, 1958, he married Janice Lambeth Leonard, who survives of the home. Also surviving are two sons, Robert Craig Leonard and Dean Earl Leonard, both of Thomasville; and two sisters, Hannah L. Mason and husband Thad and Carolyn L. Redmon and husband Roger, all of Thomasville.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 28, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Prospect United Methodist Church with Rev. Susan Mitchell and Rev. Bobby Beck officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at J. C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville. Winston-Salem — Jolene Stamper Hamrick, 71, a resident of the Wallburg community, passed away October 23, 2013.
She was born June 25, 1942, in Pennington Gap, VA to the late James and Glenneth Stamper and had been a resident of the High Point area most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of the High Point Moose Lodge 693 and American Legion Post 87. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Graceland in Memphis, TN, and the beach, playing cards, and shooting pool.
On June 25, 1982, she was married to Tommy Hamrick, he survives of the home. Also surviving are her children; Sherry Pell and her husband Alvin of Kernersville, Michael Stephens, Jr., of Ohio, and Kimberly Van Tasell of Englewood, FLA, her step children; Tony Hamrick and his wife Sara of High Point, Terri Darr and her husband Bud of Trinity, eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A service to celebrate Jolene’s life will be held at a later date at the High Point Moose Lodge and will be announced. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point and other times at the residence. ARCHDALE — Willie (Bill) Paradise, 91, resident of Archdale, died Saturday, October 26, 2013, at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced by Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.
JAMESTOWN — Mrs. Donna Bundy Gardner, 65, passed away Friday, October 25, 2013, at the Hospice Home at High Point.
Donna was born in High Point, April 3, 1948, a daughter of the late Donald Henry Bundy and Margaret Ann Nolan Bundy. She was an advocate for animals, working for many years with area veterinarians. Donna was a member of Jamestown United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by a sister, Kim Phillips.
Surviving are her husband, Jay Gardner; a daughter, Michelle Williams and her husband Mike; two sons, Ricky Zachary and Brian Gardner and his wife Reese; five grandchildren, Zachary Lance, Hayden and Nolan Gardner, and Madeline and Trent Williams; one sister, Brooke Glover; two brothers, Jeff Bundy and wife Pam and Kenny Bundy and wife Linda.
A Celebrations of Donna’s Life will be held Monday at 6:30 p.m. in the Jamestown United Methodist Church by the Pastor Stacy Sprinkles and the Pastor Chris Thore. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service until 8:30 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of the Piedmont, the Hayworth Cancer Center or Jamestown United Methodist Church. THOMASVILLE — Cory Dale Embler, 22, of Thomasville, passed away at High Point Regional Hospital on October 25, 2013.
He is survived by his mother Kathy Embler Sonner, stepfather, Leonard Sonner, brother, Ray Embler, Mattie Pritchard, grandmother, P. D. Embler, grandfather, and also several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Randy Embler, grandmother, Helen Embler, and grandfather, Zemeriah Pritchard, Jr.
Visitation will be Monday, October 28, 2013, at Thomasville Funeral Home from 6-8 pm. Funeral Service will be at Colonial Baptist Church, in Trinity, on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, with Pastor Steve Jarvis officiating followed by Interment in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
