Mozie Lee Wilks Baldwin
HIGH POINT —  Mrs. Mozie Lee Wilks Baldwin, 88, of 1718 East Kivett Drive died Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, at The GrayBrier Nursing & Retirement Center.
Mozie was born on June 11, 1925, in Chester County, S.C., to Mattie Sanders Wilks and Levi Wilks.  Relocating from Brooklyn, N.Y., to High Point, she worked as a domestic. Mrs. Baldwin was a longtime faithful member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Dedicated to serving, she was a member of the Missionary Circle No. 1 as well as other church auxiliaries.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
Surviving relatives include a devoted niece, Arlean Wilkes of the home; adopted niece, Maria Fleming and adopted nephew, Larry (Ann) Barr, all of High Point; a host of cousins, other family and many friends.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 715 W. Willis Ave. Burial will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens, Jamestown.  Family visitation will be at the church on Friday, 12:30 to 1 p.m., and other times at the residence.  Johnson and Sons is assisting the family.  Online condolences may be made at

Ruth Boggs Call
Ruth Boggs Call, 84, of Thomasville, died Oct. 14, 2013.
Born Jan. 21, 1929, to the late John W. and Tobitha Cheek Boggs, Ruth lived her entire life in this area. She had been retired from Woodmark Originals for several years. Ruth was a member of Thomasville Friends Meeting. She enjoyed canning food fresh from the garden and solving puzzles. She loved her Lord, church and family most of all.
Ruth is survived by daughters, Patricia C. Howell and Lori C. Bass and husband Scott, all of Trinity; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. J.C. Alley officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Wilkesboro, N.C., at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

LEXINGTON — Jerry Randall Carlton, 81, of Mayodan died Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro. 
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held 1-2:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home in Lexington.

Joyce C. Mason
HIGH POINT — Joyce Cranford Mason, 71, born Oct. 2, 1942, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013.
She is survived by her husband Rex Mason of their home on 731 Belmont Drive, High Point, NC  27263 and son Anthony Mason of Greensboro, N.C.; brother, C.L. Cranford and his wife Emma of Asheboro, N.C.; sisters, Peggy Davis of Randleman, N.C., and Brenda Mason and her husband Paul of Mooresville, N.C.; brother-in-law Jimmy Mason and his wife Connie of Troy, N.C,; and sister-in-law, Marie Shepherd and her husband Paul of Troy, N.C.
Joyce grew up in Asheboro.  She smiled through life and loved to volunteer with Carolina Donor Service and Donate Life because her son Anthony received a liver transplant on June 1, 2000. She not only volunteered at Carolina Donor Service events with the family, but she and her husband Rex  were Donate Life Ambassadors at three Drivers License Offices in High Point, Asheboro and Troy, N.C.
The family will receive friends on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro.
