Colon McNary “Mack” Beck
ASHEBORO — Mr. Colon McNary “Mack” Beck, 69 a resident of Sherwood Avenue passed away Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, at Randolph Health and Rehab Center. He was born May 17, 1944, in Davidson County, N.C., a son of the late William Odell Beck and Virginia Varker Beck. Mr. Beck was formerly employed as a meat cutter in the grocery industry. Mack served in the U. S. Army and was of the Wesleyan faith. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lucille Cross; two brothers, Charles Beck and Larry Beck. Surviving are, two daughters, Dawna Frank of Lexington and Janet Beck of Florida; one sister, Patricia “Pat” Miller of Archdale, N.C.; two brothers, William Odell Beck Jr. and wife Martha and Delbert Beck and wife Judy, all of Thomasville.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at 2 p.m. in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. David Albertson officiating. The family will greet friends Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m., the hour prior to the service at J. C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville. Bobby Bolling Jr.
THOMASVILLE — Mr. Robert “Bobby” Earl Bolling Jr., 54, of Thomasville, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, at Thomasville Medical Center.
Born Nov. 4, 1958, to the late Robert Earl Bolling Sr. and Charlene Joyce Hockaday Bolling, Bobby was a resident of this area most of his life and had worked as a sergeant for North Piedmont Correctional Facility for 10 years. He served in the U.S. National Guard for 15 years with the 113 Field Artillery and was a member of Hughes Grove Baptist Church. Bobby was a hard worker and devoted to his family. He will be fondly remembered as a man who went out of his way to help others. In addition to his parents, Bobby is predeceased by son, Jeremy Bolling, and sister, Linda Darlene Leonard.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Linda Dunbar Bolling of the home; four sons, Wesley Bolling and Matthew Bolling, both of the home, Joshua Bolling and wife Alicia and Jason Bolling and fiancée Deisy, both of Thomasville; sister, Patty Bolling Danson and husband Wayne of Archdale; brothers, Jack Bolling and wife Linda of Thomasville, Jay Bolling and wife Rhonda of Winston-Salem, and Charles Bolling of Maine; and grandchildren, Logan, Tabytha, Olivia and Noah.
A celebration of Bobby’s life will be held Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Hughes Grove Baptist Church, Thomasville, with Dr. John Hill officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Sept. 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale.

David Ralph Hollifield Jr.
THOMASVILLE — Mr. David Ralph Hollifield Jr., 50, a resident of Vivian Street, passed away Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, at Thomasville Medical Center. He was born Feb. 24, 1963, in Davidson County, N.C., son of David Ralph Hollifield Sr. and Mary Ann Sechrest Hollifield. He was employed with Edward Ferrell of High Point, N.C. Mr. Hollifield loved to spend time fishing and hunting. He was a loving father and a good husband and put his family first.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Ralph Hollifield Sr., and a nephew, Andrew L. Rife. He was married to Debbie Caulder Hollifield, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are his mother, Mary Ann Sechrest Hollifield of Thomasville; two daughters, Amber Marie Hollifield of Thomasville and Jessica Nicole Hollifield of High Point; one son, William Matthew Jones of Thomasville; two sisters, Vickie Johnson and husband Hoyt of Little Switzerland, N.C., and Rita Hughes of Little Switzerland, N.C.; two grandsons, Casyn Khol Kessler and William Chase Jones; many beloved nieces and nephews; a best friend, Ed Dempsey.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at 11 a.m. at J. C. Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville with the Rev. Matthew Gunter officiating. The interment will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and other times at the home. ASHEBORO — William Abner Varner, 68, of Asheboro died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Friendship Baptist Church. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Ridge Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
