Stella Jane Altman
ASHEBORO — Beloved Mother, Sister, and Memaw, Stella Jane Wall Altman, age 77, Denton, NC died Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Thomasville Medical Center, Thomasville.
Mrs. Altman was born May 19, 1937 the daughter of Gray Edward and Ruby English Wall.
Stella Jane was a native of Randolph County and retired office manager with Wall Printing of High Point, NC.  She was a graduate of Trinity High School, Class of 1955, and a member of Amity Hill Baptist Church.  She was an avid fan of South Davidson High School Athletics and loved her dog, Casey.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a grandchild, Baby Wall.
She is survived by: son and his wife, Kevin and Sherri Wall of Denton, NC; son and his wife, Keith and Christie Wall of Harkers Island, NC; daughter and her husband, Lisa and Curtis Hagy of Sophia, NC; granddaughter and her husband, Sarah and Dylan Teague; grandson, Curtis Dean Hagy, Jr.; granddaughter, Holly Marie Wall; grandson, Easton Gray Wall; great grandchild, MacKenzie Faith Teague; one sister: Janet Wall Winslow, widow of Charles Winslow, of Thomasville, NC and one brother and his wife: Barry and Cathy Wall of Asheboro, NC.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 28, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.  The funeral will be Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the Amity Hills Baptist Church, 4140 U.S. Hwy 64 W., Asheboro with Rev. Bill Watson, Rev. Barry Wall, and Rev. Keith Wall officiating.  Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church Cemetery, Trinity.

LEXINGTON — Ronald Grey Beck II, 35, a resident of Lexington, died July 25, 2014, at his residence.

PINEHURST — Raphael David Fahey, 86, of Pinehurst Trace Drive, Pinehurst, died July 25, 2014 at Carolina House Assisted Living in Lexington.
A graveside inurnment service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Southern Pines.

Glenda Fleming
HIGH POINT — Glenda Allen Fleming, 67, 701 South Elm St., died July 26, 2014 at Hospice Home at High Point following an extended illness.

Lois Gordon Hughes
THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Lois Gordon Hughes, 81, a resident of Thomasville, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Hinkle Hospice House.
Lois was a lifelong resident of Davidson Country, NC and was born on Feb. 12, 1933, a daughter of the late Everette Gordon and Ida Albright Gordon. She was also preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
Lois was a seamstress for Kayby Mills, and a member of Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed sewing, making quilts, gardening and bird watching. Lois loved her church and had served as a Sunday school teacher. Lois was a caring and very loving mother.
On Oct. 27, 1950, she married Donald Lee Hughes and he preceded her in death on June 25, 2012.
Surviving are her sons, Don A. Hughes and his wife Myra of Thomasville, Toby R. Hughes and his wife Linda of Trinity; her daughters, Ms. Lisa L. Hughes of the home, Rhonda Smith and her husband Rev. Vernon Smith of Winston Salem, adopted daughter, Crystal Wright of Thomasville. Also surviving are her brothers, Vann Gordon and Tony Gordon both of Thomasville; her sister, Dorothy “Dot” Hughes of Thomasville; grandchildren, Mark Hughes and his wife Tanya, Tonya Frost and her husband Scott, Stacy Price; great grandchildren, Christina Hughes, Rebecca Hughes, Rachel Frost, Gabriel Frost and Patricia Price.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church with Dr. E. Keith Carroll, Rev. Vernon Smith and Rev. Mark Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Lois will remain at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until placed in the church thirty minutes before the service. Edyth Chandler Jones
WALKERTOWN — Edyth Chandler Jones, 70, passed away, Friday, July 25, 2014.  She was born in Guilford County on Feb. 18, 1944, to the late Bud Chandler, Sr. and Mamie Tilley Chandler.
Edyth loved her children and family dearly, along with her four legged friend Prissy.
In addition to her parents Edyth is preceded in death by her son Jesse Jones, Jr.
Surviving are her husband Jesse Jones Sr.; three daughters Penny Tolbert (Ronnie),  Pam Friend (Kenneth), and Cindy Taplin (Ian); seven grandchildren Gray Kiger (Amy), Meghan Oleksa, Adam Kelly, Sarah Kelly, Melissa Stutts, Carson Oleksa, and Nicholas Jones; two great-grandchildren Madalyn Kiger and Noah Stutts; and one sister Gail Caviness.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at Gardens of Memory Walkertown in the Mausoleum Chapel. A private entombment will follow the service.

Matthew James Kendrick
THOMASVILLE — Mr. Matthew James Kendrick, 23, a resident of Thomasville, died Friday, July 25, 2014 at Duke University Hospital in Durham.
He was born in Thomasville, November 24, 1990 a son of Raymond Junior Kendrick II and Marti Ball Kendrick and was a lifelong resident of Davidson County. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church on Mendenhall Street in Thomasville and had graduated from South Lexington Development Center.
Matthew had served for two years as the Ambassador for the Thomasville March of Dimes Chapter. He had touched the lives of everyone he came in contact with by his infectious smile and loving attitude.
Surviving are his parents, Junior and Marti Kendrick of the home; a sister, Jessica Kendrick of the home; a brother, Ray Kendrick III of the home; his maternal grandmother, Martha Beane and her husband Tommy of Thomasville; his paternal grandmother, Carol Kendrick of Thomasville; his maternal grandfather, Doug Ball and his wife Frances of Thomasville.
Also surviving are two aunts, Kelly Moore and her husband Rob of Lexington and Kathy Murphy and her husband David of Thomasville. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Raymond Junior Kendrick, and by a cousin, Travis Benfield.
A memorial service will be conducted Monday, July 28, 2014 at 5 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 902 Mendenhall Street, Thomasville, NC by the Rev. Rodney Smith. The family will receive friends at the church Monday from 4 until 5 p.m. prior to the service and other times at the residence.

Fay McKinney
HIGH POINT — Fay McKinney, 93, went to be with the Lord on July 25, 2014 at Hospice Home in High Point with her family by her side. 
She was born on Oct. 7, 1920, to Blum Gurney and Julia Almeata Pendry in High Point, where she lived almost all her life.  She was married to her lifelong love, William Horace McKinney, for 75 years, and they met as teenagers.  Fay was an active member of Green Street Baptist Church for over 45 years and a loyal member of the Helen Bowman Sunday school class.
Her interests included reading, baking, and spending time with her family.  She devoted much of her time and energy to caring for others and faithful service to her church family.
Mrs. McKinney is survived by her husband, Horace; 2 daughters, Saundra McKinney Veach and Janice McKinney Draper; 4 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. on Monday, 07/28, at Green Street Baptist Church.  The funeral will follow at 2 p.m., also at Green Street.

HIGH POINT — Mr. John Willis Mitchell, Sr., 72, of Richland St. died on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at Hospice Home at High Point.
