Amy Lynn Blankenship
THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Amy Lynn Blankenship, age 35, a resident of 1027 W. Holly Hill Road, Thomasville, died on Monday, Nov. 18, 2013. She was born on Aug. 29, 1978, in McDowell County, W. Va., the daughter of John Blankenship and Lovina Addair Blankenship Coffin. She attended Word of Truth Church. She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, John Boy Blankenship.
Surviving are her husband, Gary Eugene Morgan of Troy; her mother, Lovina A. Coffin and husband Thomas of the home; two daughters, Wynter Morgan and Brooklynn Morgan, both of the home; two sons, Jordan Smith and Brandon Morgan, both of the home; two nephews, Jonathan Blankenship and Tyler Blankenship, both of Bradshaw, W. Va.; her best friend, Melinda Harrelson of Thomasville; a special cousin, April Addair of Harmony, N.C.; and several aunts and uncles.
There will be a gathering of friends on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at J. C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.jcgreenandsons.com.
HIGH POINT — The Rev. Robert Bowman, 68, passed away on Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at his residence. He was born on Jan. 20, 1945, to the late Beulah Mae Bowman.
Those left to cherish his memories are, his wife, Magdaline F. Bowman; daughter, Angie Stotts; son, Carlos Bowman; sister, Trevolia B. (Andrew) Murph; brother, Thomas Bowman; stepchildren, Angela N. Greene, Barry Sturgues and Andre (Lynn) Sturgues; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; special friend, Linda Diggs; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel, 1810 Brockett Ave. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 2:30 p.m. until 3 p.m.

LEXINGTON — Jeffery Zane Carlton, 56, of Cecil Street, formerly of Oakdale Street, died Nov. 16, 2013, at his home.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at Hebron United Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation follows the service in the church fellowship hall.
FRANKLINVILLE — Karen Gillispie Davis, 46, of Franklinville, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at Duke University Medical Center.
Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Monday at Zion Christian Church, 2262 Burch Bridge Road, Burlington. A celebration of life service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Exchange in Asheboro. A gathering begins at 6 p.m.

LEXINGTON — Carol Smith Winston Fields, 57, of Lexington died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013.

WINSTON-SALEM — Mrs. Josie Louise Guynn King, age 81, of Winston Salem, passed away Tuesday. Nov. 19, 2013, at her home. Mrs. King was born in Carroll County on Aug. 26, 1932, to Edgar and Gladys McMillian Guynn. Surviving are her husband Wiley M. King Sr. of the home; daughters and sons-in-law Martha and John Pritchett of Archdale and Gladys and Juan F. Lopez of Winston Salem; three step children, Wiley King Jr. and Timmy John King, both of High Point and Shelby King Smith of Ararat, Va.; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Rosie Goad, Tiny Midkiff and Leona Freeman, all of Fancy Gap; and a brother and sister-in-law, Jay and Lannie Guynn, also of Fancy Gap. In addition to her parents, Mrs. King was preceded in death by a brother, Matthew Guynn. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. LEXINGTON — Willie Mae Baxter Musgrave, 85, of Lexington died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel.
HIGH POINT — Mr. Anthony Mitchell Robinson, 65, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at Hospice Home at High Point. He was born in High Point, N.C., on May 9, 1948, to Fannie Price Robinson and the late Martin A. Robinson Sr. Most people knew Anthony as “Chuck,” but his true family given nickname from childhood was “CHUNK”.
His loves for sports and community began with youth baseball (Jr. Patricians). He attended William Penn High School and was a member of the football team. He also played semi-pro football with the High Point Bucks and played in the semi-pro baseball league with the High Point Braves. Anthony was a long distance truck driver for many years. He worked for Haley Transfer Co., Epps Trucking, Old Dominion, City Transfer, East Express, MGM and Royal Transport.
Anthony was a faithful member of Hallelujah Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish his memories are, his children, Joyce Robinson and Carol Robinson, both of Raleigh, N.C.; Kathy Robinson-Simmons and Ashantia Wright, both of High Point, N.C.; Porsha Stevenson of Atlanta, Ga.; Kevin Robinson and Chuck Anthony Johnson, both of High Point, N.C.; five grandchildren; his mother, Fannie Price Robinson of High Point, N.C.; one brother, Martin A. (Judy) Robinson Jr. of Sunisun, Calif.; one sister, Angela Robinson Barr of High Point, N.C.; two uncles; eight aunts; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at noon at Hallelujah Baptist Church, 2511 Guyer St., High Point, N.C. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 11 a.m. until noon and other times at 2330 Bellemeade St., Apt. 1A.

HIGH POINT — Mrs. Emmogene “Emma” Lucas Tackett, 82, resident of High Point, died Nov. 21, 2013, at Hospice Home at High Point.
Mrs. Tackett was born July 30, 1931, in Floyd County, Ky,, a daughter to the late Lon Allen and Myrtle Sergent Lucas. She was a resident of the High Point area most of her life. On Sept. 4, 1955, she married Clarence E. Tackett, who preceded her in death on July 5, 2012. She was also preceded by three brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are two daughters, Patty Clinard and husband Phil of High Point and Jenny Roberts and husband Chad of Vero Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Peggy Easter and husband Pal of Ohio and Myrtle Lemaster and husband Phillip of Grayson, Ky.; four brothers, Tom Lucas and wife Dee of High Point, Walt Lucas and wife Peggy of Lexington, Roger Lucas of Graham and Jake Lucas of Thomasville; three grandchildren, Shannon Royals, John Clinard and wife Isabel and Bailey Roberts; and one great-granddaughter, Savannah Royals.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point with the Rev. Terry White officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
