Doris Lenora Forcey Hardy Beck
THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Doris Lenora Forcey Hardy Beck, 85, a resident of Thomasville passed away on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012.
Doris was born on July 13, 1927, in Tyrone, Pa., to David Fredrick and Bertha Anna Hoffman Forcey. Doris worked as a Supervisor of Accounts Payable at Thomasville Furniture and retired February 1989. She was a member of first Baptist Church in Thomasville.
Doris was preceded in death by her first husband Dennis Carl Hardy on Aug. 31, 1950. She was then married to Jesse Joseph Beck on June 3, 1955, who preceded her in death on July 31, 1976. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, John Forcey and a sister, Mary Borman.
Survivors include daughters, Linda Hardy Hilton and husband Michael Hilton and Samantha Beck Coltrane and husband Michael Coltrane both all of Thomasville. Also surviving are grandchildren, Tracey Hilton Ray and husband Jeremy Ray, Tyler and Christopher Whisenant, Bryson and Brooklyn Coltrane and great-grandchildren Ivy and Jimmy Ray and a brother, David H. Forcey of CA.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Pastor Tom Fields officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. The family request any memorial contributions be directed to Mt. Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Beulah United Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home.
Angela June Iott Galicia
HIGH POINT — Angela June Iott Galicia, 28, of High Point, NC died Thursday at the Hospice Home at High Point. Born Nov. 17, 1984, in Monroe, Michigan she is a daughter Pat and Sue Iott of High Point. Angela is a 2003 graduate of St. Mary Catholic Central High School in Monroe, Michigan and a 2006 graduate of Le Cordon Bleu in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She pursued her career as a chef at Nobles Restaurant in High Point and at the Stratford Retirement Community. She enjoyed gardening and time with her family.
In addition to her parents Angela is survived by her husband Ovidio Galicia and son Byron Ovidio Galicia both of the home. Also surviving are two sisters, Amy Iott Holdren and husband Robert of High Point, Jennifer Iott Doner and husband Brian of Greensboro, brother Patrick O. Iott, II of High Point, two nieces Hannah and Lilly Sue and a nephew Dillon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with the Reverend Thomas P. Norris celebrant. Entombment will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point with a Scripture Service at 6 p.m. and on Monday at the church one hour prior to the Mass.

HIGH POINT — Mrs. Barbara Ann Locklear Gatlin, age 62 of High Point passed away December 26, 2012, at High Point Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Gatlin was born in Robeson County on February 28, 1950, to Burnice Lee and Sadie Robeson Locklear. She had been a resident of this area since 1972 and previously worked in the finishing department of Dar-Rand Inc. Mrs. Gatlin was of the Holiness faith. She was preceded in death by her son, Cephyus “Joey” Hamilton.
Surviving are her husband, Ronald Lee Gatlin of the home, whom she married on June 3, 1972; one daughter: Tammy Locklear of Greenville, NC; sons, Tommy Locklear of Kernersville; Marvin Junior Locklear of Advance, Timmy Ray Hamilton of South Carolina, David Junior Hamilton of Lexington and Ronald Lee Gatlin, II of High Point. Mrs. Gatlin has one sister; Frances Hamilton of Greenville, SC and three brothers: Thomas and Bobby Locklear of Lumberton, NC and Buddy Locklear of Winston-Salem. There are twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in Sechrest Funeral Chapel in High Point. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from noon until the hour of the service.

Betty Snow Hubbard
KERNERSVILLE — Betty Snow Hubbard, 84, went home to be with her Lord December 28, 2012.
Graveside Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Gur Cemetery with Pastor Janet Dixon officiating.
A native of Forsyth County, Betty was the daughter of the late Ella Ballard and Arnold Snow. She was the wife of the late Edward Paddison Hubbard. She had been a member of Cherry Street United Methodist Church for 55 years.
Survivors include her daughter Diane Hubbard Cochran and Samuel of Kernersville; sons Eddie Hubbard and fiancé Gerri Brown of Kernersville, and Duane Hubbard and Debbie of Goldsboro; grandchildren Tonya Huff, Kelly Hubbard Self, Scott Sparrow, Jeff Hubbard, Todd Hubbard, Zach Hubbard, and Carey Hubbard; great-grandchildren Brandi, Lindsay, Ashley, Taylor, Megan, Michael, Lee, Payton, Cheyenne, Tanner, Allie, Taber, Samantha, Emerson, Heather, and Brian; great-great granddaughter Caitlin; and special Aunt Kay Holder.
The family will visit with friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday evening at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home.

Irene Patton Kauffman
HIGH POINT — Mrs. Irene Patton Kauffman, a resident of Westchester Manor in High Point,
NC went to be with the Lord on Dec. 27, 2012.
Mrs. Kauffman was born on Nov. 12, 1921, in Mebane, NC the first child of
Clay Joseph Patton Sr. and Lillian Beatrice Brown Patton. She lived most of
her life in Mebane, attending Mebane Schools and Alamance Technical
Community College. She attended God’s Bible School in Cincinnati, Ohio.
While there, she met the love of her life, Robert5 Kauffman.
After they married in Mebane in June of 1946, the couple returned to
Robert’s hometown of Caro, Michigan, where they lived for 4 years. In 1950,
the Kauffman’s returned to Mebane. There, they became involved members at
the Mebane Wesleyan Church. Irene enjoyed teaching Sunday school and
directing the choir. She also served as the pianist at the church.
Throughout the years, she taught private piano lessons in her home. She was
also a member of the Gideon’s Women’s Auxiliary, an organization dear to her
Irene and Robert also spent 8 years in Raliegh, NC and after retirement
moved to High Point, NC in order to be closer to family. During this time
they became members of the First Wesleyan Church in High Point, NC.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents and her brother C.J. Patton Jr.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 66 years, Robert L.
Kauffman, of the home; her daughter and son in law, Carolyn and Edward
Winslow of Thomasville; Her son and daughter in law, Tim and Wendy Kauffman
of Greensboro; and four grandsons: Ryan and Shannon Kauffman of Summerfield,
Chris and Carrie Kauffman of Kernersville, David and Holly Winslow of
Colfax, Robert and Amy Winslow of Winston Salem; and nine
great-grandchildren: Cameron and Julianna Kauffman; Will, Wesley and Wyatt
Kauffman; Luke and Avery Winslow; Reagan and Jake Winslow.

Mary Alice Edwards Lawson
HIGH POINT — Mrs. Mary Alice Edwards Lawson, 82, a former resident of High Point, passed away Friday at the GrayBrier Nursing & Retirement Center following several years of declining health.
A native of High Point, she was born November 13, 1930, a daughter of the late William Collier and Lettie Brock Edwards. She was a 1949 graduate of High Point High School and graduated from the High Point Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1952. She had a 35 year career as a dedicated Registered Nurse. Mary Alice loved to spend her vacation time at the coast in “The Camper”. She enjoyed pier fishing, cross stitching, watching the Atlanta Braves and was an expert pound cake maker. Mary Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Richard H. Lawson; a sister, Helen Edwards Andresen; and two brothers, Roy and James Edwards. She was a life-long member of Westchester Baptist Church.
Surviving are her son, Rick Lawson and wife Ami Reid Lawson of Trinity; two sisters, Margaret Crouse of Thomasville and Becky Nixon of Charleston, SC; a host of nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Davis Funerals and Cremations Chapel by the Rev. Eric Peacock. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2-3 p.m. The family would like to thank the staff of GrayBrier for their concern, comfort and excellent care shown to Mary Alice.
