John Franklin Mastin
THOMASVILLE — John Franklin Mastin, 60, passed away on July 5, 2013, at Hospice Home at High Point.
John was born on Nov. 29, 1952, in Surry County to L.P. Mastin and Minnie Miles Mastin.
John is preceded in death by his parents. John leaves behind his loving wife Delaine Bolin Mastin and three stepchildren, son, Thomas Schostag Jr. and wife Shelly, daughter, Lesa Diane Avrett and husband Nick, son Jason Schostag and wife Ranea, six grandchildren, Ben, Trevor, Tjay, Peyton, Danielle, and Ryan, two sisters, Wanda Manning and husband Ray, Mable Rollins and husband Barry along with numerous extended family members.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday July 8, 2013, at Thomasville Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday July 9, 2013, at Full Gospel Freewill Holiness Church with Pastor Junior Hutchins officiating and Assistant Pastor Joshua Sellars, followed by burial in Salisbury National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers or food, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice House of High Point or John and Delaines Church, Full Gospel Freewill Holiness in Thomasville.

John Henry Hull Sr.

GREENSBORO — John Henry Hull, Sr., age 61, of Greensboro passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013. John was born July 25, 1951, in Philomath, Ga., to the late J.L. and Mary Hunter Hull. He graduated from Peekskill High School in 1969. He continued his education earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Management with a concentration in Computer Technology and a minor in Justice and Policy Studies from Guilford College; He graduated with honors. He was completing a Master of Science Degree in Gerontology at Kansas State University.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years Kadis Hingleton-Hull; six children - Gerard Curtis, Chena Farmer, Kineka Hull, Erika King (Darren), Lakisha Hull, and John Hull, Jr.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; three sisters - Jacquette Hull-Bottoms (Rev. Jesse), Gwendolyn Hull-Undly (Conway, Deceased), and Clarissa Hull-Goins (Howard); as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Carl Eugene Rider

LEXINGTON — Mr. Carl Eugene Rider, 81, a resident of E. Old Highway 64, died Monday, July 8, 2013, at High Point Regional Hospital. He was born on Oct. 15, 1931, in Davidson County, NC, to Robert Harrison Rider and Adline Snider Rider. He worked as an upholsterer for Erwin Lambeth in Thomasville and Heirloom Furniture in High Point. He attended The Original Covenant Church of God in Denton, NC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and their spouses, Lee Rider and wife Pauline, and A.G. Rider and wife Agnes; sisters and their spouses, Mattie Leonard and husband Clifford, Bertha Webb, and Edith Gallimore and husband Rex.
Surviving is his wife Barbara Jean Jarrett Rider of the home; also surviving is his son, Robbie Rider of Thomasville; brother, Aster Rider and wife Velna of Lexington; granddaughter, Cassie Everhart and husband James of Lexington; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Madison Everhart; step-grandson, Shane Bell; and step-great-grandchildren, Sierra and Karissa Bell.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Reverend Johnny Albertson officiating. Jeffrey Allen McMann
TRINITY — Jeffrey Allen McMann, 47 of Trinity, NC, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at his residence. A native of Sanilac, Mich., he was born on Aug. 12, 1965, to Neal Allen McMann and Pauline Comtois McMann.
He was employed with Dean Foods Company in High Point.
He was preceded in death by his father, Neal Allen McMann.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years of marriage, Florinda McMann of the home, three children, Jeffrey McMann II, Neal McMann of the home and Jody McMann of High Point; mother, Pauline (Bill) Holloway of Otter Lake, Mich.; one brother, Wesley McMann of Lapeer, Mich.; one sister, Bonnie Pisciotta of Islesboro, Maine; two grandchildren, Amilliyana Martin and Devon Martin; other family and friends.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening at People’s Funeral Chapel from 7-8 p.m., and other times at the residence.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at People’s Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Oakwood Memorial Park.

Virginia Isabell Whitfield Wilson
THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Virginia Isabell Whitfield Wilson, 81, a resident of Blackberry Road, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at the Henry Etta & Bruce Hinkle Hospice House. She was born on January 5, 1932, in Ocala, Fla., to John Laurie Whitfield and Virginia Hodges Whitfield. She was a US Navy veteran having served during the Korean War. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobbie Lee Wilson; brothers, Leonard and Laurie Whitfield; and sisters, Doris Hancock and Madeline Thompson.
Surviving are her daughters, Rhonda Wilson of the home and Janice Cullingford and husband David of Charlotte, NC; son, Dwight Wilson and wife Ruth of Pensacola, Fla.; 4 grandchildren, Andrea Winfrey and husband Bert, Kassie Cullingford, Marjorie Reaves, and Kyle Wilson; and 2 great-grandchildren, Jasmine and Kiana Reaves.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Bishop Jim McDonald and Mr. Gary Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday one hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
