Margaret Jones
KERNERSVILLE — Our dear, most loving and precious Mom, Margaret Frances Briggs Jones went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 3, 2013.  Margaret was born in Rockingham County on June 10, 1915, to the late Robert Lee Briggs and Ada Ann Paschal Briggs of High Point.  After graduating from High Point High School in 1932, she began employment at the Triangle Hosiery Mill and worked there for 12 years. Mom married our Dad, Chester Wilson Jones, on April 20, 1935.   Several years later, she began employment at Jarrett Stationery Company and worked there until her retirement in February 2011 at the age of 95.  Mom was a very dedicated and valuable employee.  She enjoyed her job and loved what she did for a living.  She was a people person, so dealing with the public was one of her many passions.
Mom was an active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Kernersville since 1963.  She was a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class and the Negrin Circle.  Mom served on many committees throughout the years.
Mom was a member of the Kernersville Family YMCA.  She met so many new friends there and thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the Silver Sneakers.
Mom was preceded in death by her husband and our Dad, Chester Wilson Jones, who passed away in May 1973.  Also her dearly beloved  grandson, Shane Patrick Wilson, who passed away in May 2006.  She leaves behind two sons and one daughter, Jerry and wife Betty Jones of Thomasville, Mike and wife Peggy Jones of High Point, Margaret’s daughter, Tommie and husband Fred Bowen (caregivers) of Kernersville, grandson and wife, Matt and Stephanie Jones, and granddaughter and husband, Brooke and Josh Stegenga, and a great-granddaughter Claire Jones.  She also leaves behind a brother, Harold Briggs, neices and nephews, and many dear friends.
Mom, you have demonstrated the true beauty and heart of a servant.  It was evident from the special gifts and talents that you were given by God that this was truly your calling in life.  You never failed to use them either.  Your life clearly illustrated the love you had for Christ and for other people.  Everyone who knew you will remember you for the unending gifts that you gave, your cards, telephone calls, visits, cooking and delivering meals, and most of all your prayers and encouraging words.   You honestly have done without yourself, in order to meet others needs.  You have always put God and others first.  Your love and generosity that you have shown toward your children, grandchildren, family, friends, and others have been profound.  We have been truly blessed to have you as our Mom and friend.  Thank you for showing us the true meaning of unconditional love.  You have truly fulfilled God’s purpose in your life.  We will miss you, but we also look with anticipation to the day we see you again in Heaven!  We love you Mom.
A service to celebrate Margaret’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2013, at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Pastor Jason Murray officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m.  at Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point and other times at the home.
