HIGH POINT — Angela Marie Harris Agner, 39, of High Point, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Hospice Home of High Point.
Angela was born in Michigan on June 29, 1973. She loved to read and draw, using colored pencils. She enjoyed volunteering with the Air Force JROTC at Trinity High School, and her great passion was volunteering at her daughter’s school, Hopewell Elementary. Angela was preceded in death by a brother, Matthew Lee Harris.
Angela is survived by children, Zachary Scott and Sarah Elizabeth Agner of the home; mother, Lynn Leonard of High Point; and brother James Allen Harris Jr. of Maury, NC.
A celebration of Angela’s life will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at 4 p.m. at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sarah Agner Educational Fund, c/o Community One Bank, 10108 S Main Street, Archdale, NC 27263.

Leona Mae Brady Agner
HIALEAH, FL — Leona Mae Brady Agner, 91, passed over at her home on Friday, May 10, 2013, with her family by her side to be with God and all of her deceased loved ones. Leona is formerly of Jamestown, NC.
She is survived by two children, Henry Lewis Agner of Miami Lakes, FL. And Betty Jo Parris of Chesnee, S.C.; nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Troy w. Agner Sr.; and son, Troy W. Agner Jr. She is loved so much and will be greatly missed but lives forever in our hearts.
There was a graveside service and burial on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Floral Garden Memorial Park. Sechrest Funeral Service in High Point was is charge of the funeral arrangements.
James “Jim” Albert Barneycastle
HIGH POINT — James “Jim” Albert Barneycastle, 66, passed away Monday, May 20, 2013, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was the loving husband of Alexis D. (Kirby) Barneycastle to whom he was married to for 32 years.
Mr. Barneycastle was born on June 22, 1946, in Winston-Salem, a son of the late Bane Worth and Annie Marie (Myers) Barneycastle. After serving in the U.S. Air Force for four years, he graduated from High Point University and later became a teacher and principal throughout Davidson, Guilford and Forsyth counties for more than 20 years until his retirement.
Jim was a huge Wake Forest fan, often traveling as a member with the Demon Deacon Club to various games for 35 years. He enjoyed watching all ACC teams and personally hand-recording their statistics. He was also a Washington Redskins fan as well as a NASCAR fan. When not rooting for his favorite teams, he enjoyed computer games, trying new and exciting foods, singing and studying the bible.
Jim was also a member of the High Point American Legion.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Barneycastle is survived by three children, James Russell Smith and his wife Tina of Atlanta, GA; Jeffrey Brian Smith of Winston-Salem, and Kelly Ann Gilchrist and her husband Tim of Thomasville; five grandchildren; a sister, Bonnie Blair of Thomasville; a brother, Larry Barneycastle and his wife Shirley of Tampa, FL; many nieces and nephews; and several close and special friends.
A celebration of life service will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Lebanon United Methodist Church, High Point, with Rev. Timothy James officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the church. The family requests that those attending wear Wake Forest Demon Deacon colors, Black, Gold and White, to honor Jim’s life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lebanon United Methodist Church, 237 Idol St, High Point, NC 27262, or the Demon Deacon Club, 499 Deacon Blvd., Winston-Salem, NC 27105.

Kathleen Estelle Lawrence Hankins
ARCHDALE — Kathleen Estelle Lawrence Hankins, 74, of Archdale, died May 12, 2013.
Kathleen was born November 4, 1938, in Guilford County to Leroy and Nancy Hudspeth Lawrence. he was a member of Covenant Life Church of the Nazarene and the Am Vets Auxiliary. A homemaker, Kathleen enjoyed reading and loved going to the beach. It was her favorite place. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Hankins, who died in 2004.
Kathleen is survived by children, Joey B. Jones and wife Teresa of Thomasville, Chip Jones and wife Judy of Bryson City, Kathy Grant and husband Brett of Bryson City, and Cindy Noble of Charlotte; sister, Judy Wilcox and husband Johnny; brother, Bill Lawrence and wife Judy; grandchildren, Major Joel Evans and wife Suzanne, Capt Justin Evans and wife Cassie, Josh Jones and wife Megan, and Aaron Jones and wife Annie; and great-grandchildren, Hailey Jones and Zachery Jones.
A celebration of Kathleen’s life will be held Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Thomasville First Church of the Nazarene at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mike McClure officiating. Interment will take place prior to the service at 10 a.m. at Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service.

Claude R. “Tut” Harrison, Jr.
HIGH POINT — Claude Ramsey “Tut” Harrison, Jr., 94, a resident of High Point, died Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at the V.A. Hospital in Durham.
He was born July 9, 1918, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Claude R. Harrison and Emma Lee Brewer Harrison. He was a veteran of the
U.S. Army Air Corps, serving in the European Theater during WW II. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in High Point. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were his wife of 68 years, Jean Davis Harrison and a great-grandson, Chad Williford.
Surviving are his daughter, Susan Bullock and her husband John of Reidsville; his sister, Martha Harrison of High Point. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Cameron Williford and her husband Allen, and Stephen Wofford; his great-grandchildren, Nick Wofford and Ryan Williford.
A service to celebrate Tut’s life will be held Thursday, May 23, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point with the Reverend David Emery officiating. The family will see friends Thursday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A committal service will be held Friday, May 24, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in the National Cemetery in Salisbury.
