Shirley Blankenship
THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Shirley Blankenship, 83, of Piedmont Crossing Retirement Center passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013 in the retirement center. 
She was born April 25, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late John Neville and Mildred Jankowski. She was married to Gene Blankenship who survives of the home.  Surviving are daughter Terri Kane and husband Michael of Archdale, NC and son, Jim Posvar and wife Anita of Arab, AL; five grandchildren, Renee Habersetzer, Melanie Smith, Wesley Posvar, Jeffery Marks and Lisa Marks; and eleven great grandchildren. A memorial service is being planned for a later date.

Mary Clodfelter
HIGH POINT – Mary Evelyn Thornton Clodfelter, 95, died May 16, 2013, at High Point Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in Deep River Friends Meeting House.

David Marshall Eddinger
THOMASVILLE — Mr. David Marshall Eddinger 78, a resident of Thomasville, died Friday, May 17, 2013 at his home. He was born March 25, 1935 in Davidson County, a son of Hester Dewey Eddinger and Alice Marie Hedrick Eddinger. David called Thomasville his home all his life and was a member of Richfork Baptist Church. He loved to hunt, fish, and do woodworking. He was also an avid sports fan of any type. He is preceded in death by his parents and two bothers, as well as two sisters.
On Dec. 13, 1952, he was married to Shirley Griffie, who survives of the home.  Also surviving are daughters, Kathy Marie Embry and Teresa Eddinger both of Thomasville; sons, David Wayne Eddinger and wife Marjorie of Baltimore MD and William “Bryce” Eddinger from Thomasville, sisters; Betty Sue Waisner and husband Leroy and Louise Reece, both of Thomasville; and a brother, Franklin Dewey Eddinger of High Point. Also surviving are grandchildren; Bobbie Davis, Kenneth Comer, Lyle Schlacks, and Nina Schlacks Esteff; one great-grandchild, Hayden Davis; extended family member, Patricia Brintle and his constant companion, Lou Lou.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 20, 2013, at 2 p.m. in J C Greens and Sons Chapel officiated by Rev. Michael Bowers. Burial will follow at Richfork Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. Memorial may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, P O Box 1941, Lexington, NC 27293-1941. Jerry Boyd Harvell
THOMASVILLE — Mr. Jerry Boyd Harvell, 73, resident of 4169 NC Hwy. 62, died Thursday morning at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Harvell was born March 2, 1940, in High Point a son of Albert and Algie Boyd Harvell.He had been a resident of Trinity and vicinity for the past 48 years and was retired from EDM Co.  Mr.  Harvell was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in the National Guard. He was a faithful member of the Archdale Church of the Nazarene and was a former usher.
In 1964 he was married to Carol Holden who survives of the home.
Also surviving are 3 daughters; Mrs. Leigh Ann Rash and husband Jeffery of Concord, Mrs. Donna Goble and husband Matthew of Archdale and Kelly Beane and husband Steve of Thomasville. 4 Grandchildren; Brittany and Matthew Rash and Landon and Nicholas Beane.
Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Cumby Funeral Service in Archdale by the Rev. Tommy Thompson. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 8 p.m.at the funeral home.

Paul Woodrow Hicks
HIGH POINT — Mr. Paul Woodrow Hicks, 90, of High Point, died May 14, 2013 following a sudden illness.
Mr. Hicks was born Dec. 5, 1922, in Randolph County a son of Wilborn and Lillie Lassiter Hicks. He had been a resident of High Point and vicinity all of his life and was retired from Henredon Furniture.  Mr. Hicks was a member of Green Street Baptist Church, Joe Watson Sunday School Class and the Sunshine Fellowship Club. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. On Nov. 13, 1942 he was married to Rachel Ward Hicks who preceded him in death on March 25, 2006.
Surviving are 1 son; Woody Michael Hicks and wife Billie of Lake Mary, Florida; 4 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.
A celebration of Paul’s life will be held on Saturday, May 18 at 2 p.m. at Green Street Baptist Church, 303 N. Rotary Drive, High Point, with Dr. Robert Steele officiating.  Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm at the church.  Burial will follow the service at Springfield Friends Meeting Cemetery, 555 E Springfield Road, High Point.

DENTON — James Russell Holleman, 66, of Jim Lane, Lexington, died Friday May 17, 2013, at Mountain Vista Health Park in Denton.
The family will hold a visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Briggs Funeral Home.

ASHEBORO — Lillie Mae Jones Hulin, 83, of Asheboro, NC, died May 17, 2013.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Bethel Friends Meeting.

Hugh Tews
DENTON — Hugh Brian Tews, 43, of Howell Care Center in Charlotte, died May 16, 2013, at CMC Northeast Hospital in Concord.
A graveside service for Hugh will be 11 a.m. Monday at Guilford Memorial Park in Greensboro.
