Randy Brooks
LEXINGTON — Randy Lee Brooks, 54, of 303 Foy Ave., died Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at his residence. He will be cremated, and private family services will be conducted.

GREENSBORO — John Lawrence Collins, 87, died Thursday, May 2, 2013.
Triad Cremation Society & Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

 

Mary Dawson
RANDLEMAN — Mary Sue Henderson Dawson, 81, of Randleman died April 28, 2013.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Randolph Memorial Park.

James W. Fairley
HIGH POINT — Mr. James Willie Fairley, 74, passed on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at High Point Regional Hospital. He was born on March 7, 1939, in Maxton, N.C., to the late Charlie and Viola McLean Fairley.  James was a resident of High Point for over 50 years and was last employed as a cement finisher with J.R. Graham Construction Co.
He always had a smile on his face and never met a stranger.  His favorite quote was “The Good Lord has been good to me.”
He was also preceded in death by his former wife, Emma Lou Patterson, one daughter, Connie Fairley, two sisters: Violee Fairley and Macie Fairley and one brother, Charlie Fairley Jr.
Surviving to cherish his memories are his wife, Evangelist Georgia S. Fairley of High Point, N.C.; one son, Orlando Fairley of High Point, N.C.; nine step-children; one sister, Evangelist Dorothy Campbell of High Point, N.C.; one aunt, Evangelist Lillie Bell McLean of Maxton, N.C.; one uncle, Rev. Robert (Annie) Fairley of Maxton, N.C., and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel, 1810 Brockett Ave, High Point, N.C.  Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Park, Winston Salem, N.C. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 12:30 p.m. until 1 p.m.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc., High Point, N.C.

LEXINGTON — Annie Lou Roberts Holleman, 97, of Forest Hill Road, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Hinkle Hospice House.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held 1-2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

 

Candace “Candy” Denise Jennings
SALISBURY — Candace “Candy” Denise Jennings, 50, formerly of High Point, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013, at her residence in Salisbury.  Candy was born Jan. 6, 1963, in High Point to the late Willard “Bill” Monroe Jennings, Sr. and Myrtle Ferguson Jennings.
Candy attended High Point Central High School and was owner and operator of a car detailing service.  She was a current member of Faith Baptist Church located in Faith, N.C.  She enjoyed attending church, gardening, reading, watching movies, and playing with her dog Desi.  She loved spending time with her family, especially the light of her life, her grandson Landon.
She leaves behind daughter, Jessica Marie Alcaraz and Grandson Landon Xavior Alcaraz, both of Warner Robins, Ga.  Survivors also include brothers, Dwight M. Jennings of High Point, Scotty L. Jennings and wife Debra of Sophia, Willard M. “Billy” Jennings, Jr. and wife Donna of High Point, and Ricky E. Jennings of Thomasville, one nephew, and five nieces whom she dearly loved.
The  Rev. Joe Smith, pastor, will conduct a memorial service at 3 p.m. May 5, 2013, at Faith Baptist Church.

HIGH POINT — Andy Smith, 62, of High Point, passed away on April 29, 2013.
He was born in Maxton, N.C., on July 13, 1951.  He attended R. B Dean School in Maxton N.C.
Andy worked as a repairman for Wagner Tires for several years. He enjoyed cooking, talking to people and riding his scooter. He was also actively involved in his neighborhood.
Andy is preceded in death by his parents, Douge and Geneva Smith; daughter, Ressey Smith; brothers, Leonard Smith, Nezell Smith and William Smith; sister, Betty Sue Leak; sisters in law, Glenda and Essie Smith.
Andy is survived by wife, Catherine Smith; his step mother, Eunice Smith; children, Randy Smith and Shernika McInnis; brothers, Douglas Smith, James (Elizabeth) Smith, Bobby (Carrie) Smith, Levon Smith and  Edward Smith; sisters, Pearlie (Charlie) Hawkins, Jennie Johnson, Dorothy Smith, Mary (Knox) Quick and Katie (Eve) Hope; nieces, nephews, special friend and caretakers, Shirl Gaddy and Sheila Gaddy, other family and friends.
