LEXINGTON — Curtis “Curt” Wayne Fletcher, 65, of Lexington died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at Carolina’s Rehabilitation Center in Charlotte. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Hedrick’s Grove Reformed United Church of Christ. Davidson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

WELCOME — Elsie Brinkley Fritts, 82, of Welcome died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at Pineridge Rehabilitaiton Center in Thomasville. 
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Welcome Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home .

Nancy Robinette (Wright) Gibbons
SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. —Nancy Robinette (Wright) Gibbons, 77, passed away peacefully at Sunrise Senior Living in Sandy Springs, Ga., on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013. A memorial service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary of Sandy Springs Christian Church. Mrs. Gibbons was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She was born Oct. 6, 1935, in High Point, N.C., earned her associates degree at the “W. C.,” Woman’s College of Greensboro (now UNC), and married her first husband and high school sweetheart, Talley Wright, with whom she raised their three children.At 26, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. She suffered its effects for many years, but was known by her family, friends and caregivers for her positive outlook, an example for all. While raising her children, Nancy was active as a Girl and Boy Scout leader, volunteered as a Pink Lady at Northside Hospital and was dedicated to Sandy Springs Christian Church, where she volunteered, sang in the choir and later became the church’s secretary.MS gradually took away her physical abilities, but she continued to share her sunny smile and emphasized the good things in life. After her second husband, Robert Gibbons, passed away, she resided at Sunrise Senior Living, where the caregivers loved her for her good attitude and positive outlook. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Terri Cool (and husband Bob), Tal Wright (and wife Julie) and Tracy Kopack (and husband Dan); her sister, Marilyn Marx; and six grandchildren and their spouses: Bobby (and wife Amanda), Casey (and husband Michael Callahan) and Jamie Cool and Chelsea, Stephanie and Adam Wright. The family will receive visitors following the service Friday. LEXINGTON — Bette Ragan Moore, 91, formerly of Woodlawn Drive, died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at Alston Brook of Lexington.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday 7 at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Visitation follows the service.

GREENSBORO — Crystal T. Spencer, 40, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2013. 
A service will be held at a later date. Triad Cremation Society & Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Karen Davis Stahl
KINSTON — Karen Davis Stahl, 51, of Kinston passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Mrs. Stahl was born in Perrysburg, Ohio, on Jan. 26, 1962, to Michael and Christine Davis. She had a passion for cross-stitching and loved amusement parks. Mrs. Stahl was a loving wife and mother and had a special place for pets in her heart. She was a special person to all that knew her, was loved by all and will truly be missed by many.
Survivors include her parents; husband Chris Stahl of the home; daughter Leslie Stahl of the home; son Christopher Lee Stahl and fiancée Christina Jarman of La Grange; sister Julie Futrell and husband John of Chapel Hill; brother Kelly Davis of Chapel Hill; and special canine and feline companions Bandit, Binky and Moe Beans.
Special thanks to Steve and Pamela Hartman of Kinston, Gwendolyn Joy Stahl, Byron and Donna Stahl, Leroy Stahl, Mary Annette Stahl, and many other special family and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at Howard-Carter Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times at the home.

Alonzo Alvin Vestal
THOMASVILLE — Mr. Alonzo Alvin Vestal, 79, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at Piedmont Crossing Retirement Community.  He was born on Feb. 22, 1934, in Davidson County, N.C., to Paul David Vestal and Ader Simmons Vestal. He retired from Brayton International and was a US Army veteran having served during the Korean conflict. He was a member of Unity United Methodist Church, where he served on various committees and was the head usher. He was a member of The High Point Seniors Golf Association and a former Civitan International Citizen of the Year. He was a loyal supporter of the Thomasville Crop Walk and delivered Meals on Wheels.  He donated over 15 gallons of blood to the American Red Cross and was an Eagle Scout.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise “Mama Lou” Little Vestal on Aug. 19, 2010, whom he married on May 27, 1957; and a brother, Clinton Vestal.
Surviving are two daughters, Donna Frady and husband Alan of Lexington and Jeanette Williams and Dale Kennedy of Thomasville; brothers, James (Ed) Vestal and wife Joyce of Las Vegas, Nev., and Don Vestal of Archdale; sisters, Hazel Briggs and husband Bill of Jacksonville, Fla., Mary Thompson of Richmond, Va., Peggy Whisnant and husband Mark of Thomasville, and Judy Yates and husband Terry of Thomasville; four grandchildren, Alyssa Frady, Wesley Frady, Hope Williams, and Kathryn Williams; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Unity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rob Hutchinson and the Rev. Donnie B. Durham officiating. Interment with military rites provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Vestal will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. and at other times at the home.
