WINSTON-SALEM — Mrs. Elizabeth Darr Litwin a resident of Brighton Gardens, formerly of Thomasville, died Sunday, June 23, 2013 in the Sticht Center of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.  Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville.

Kimberly Scarlette McDonald
THOMASVILLE — Kimberly Scarlette McDonald, 50, went to be with our heavenly Father on Friday, June 21, 2013.  Born on July 13, 1962 in High Point, NC to Kenneth and Alice Grindstaff Scarlette. Kim was preceded in death by her parents.  Kim had a life long partner of 20 years, Charles Gray II.
Kim is survived by Daughter, Mindy McDonald; Daugher, Jennifer Thomas and husband Teddy Thomas; Daughter, Kassondra Gray; and Son, Chase Gray. Kim had 4 loving grandchildren.  Kim is survived by sister, Kathy Laws and husband Ron Laws; brother, Russell Scarlette and wife Jackie Scarlette; sister, Rhonda Brown and husband Ryan Brown.  Kim was a loving Mother, and adoring Grandmother. Kim loved serving her community, Kim served 7 years on the Thomasville Police Department.
A service for the Celebration of Kim’s life will be on July 6, 2013 at 2 p.m. The service will be held at New Temple Ministries, 5996 Welborn Rd, Trinity, NC  27370.

Ellie Mae Parrish
TRINITY — Mrs. Ellie Mae Parrish, 83, resident of Trinity and formerly of Edenton, NC, died Friday, June 21, 2013 at High Point Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Parrish was born November 5th, 1929 in Chowan County, a daughter to the late Harry and Martha Godwin Crummey.  She was a resident of this area since 1986 and retired from her clerical position of many years at Swaim Furniture in 2009.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Linwood Parrish of Edenton and her daughter, Martha Greenhaugh of New Hampshire.
Surviving is a son, John Frank Parrish of Greensboro; a daughter, Ann Pridgen and husband Bennett of Trinity; four grandchildren, Jay Pridgen and Bennett Pridgen Jr. both of High Point and Stacey Leach and Corey Mitchell both of New Hampshire; and four great-grandchildren, Slade, Griffin, Yolie and Alex.
A celebration of her life will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 25th, 2013 in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Memorials may be directed to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Dr. High Point, NC 27262.  On-line condolences may be made through www.cumbyfuneral.com.

Shearl Gaddy
HIGH POINT — Ms. Shearl Gaddy, age 50 of High Point departed this earthly life on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Libertywood Nursing Center in Thomasville, NC. 
She was born November 18, 1962 to Ms. Barbara Ann Gaddy and David Adams Sr.  She attended High Point Central High School.  Shearl was employed with Home Health Connection in Greensboro.  She attended several churches locally.
Shearl had a loving sister, Annette Gaddy, one brother, David Adams Jr. grandmother, Suttena Adams and an aunt, Mazelle Gaddy.
She leaves to cherish her memories to her parents, Barbara Ann Gaddy of the home and David (Betty) Adams of High Point; two daughters, Sheila Gaddy and Taleciyia Alston of the home; one son, Jerry Bailey of High Point; three brothers, Tony Gaddy and Gerod Adams both of High Point and David Allen of Ohio; two sisters, Vermonica Gaddy of the home and Amy (Aaron) Grier of High Point; five grandchildren; a special friend, Daisy Blakely; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m., Tuesday June 25, 2013 at Living Water Baptist Church, 1300 Brentwood St.  Visitation will begin at 1 p.m.-1:30 p.m. at the church. ARCHDALE — Mr. Joseph D. Quakenbush, Jr., 70 a resident of Archdale, died Sunday, June 23, 2013.
A private service will be held at later date. Arrangements by Cumby Family Funeral Service of Archdale.


Jimmy Ray Carpenter Sr.
LEXINGTON — Jimmy Ray Carpenter Sr. age 81 of Lexington, died at his home early Saturday morning. Jimmy requested that no service be held.
