Remah Cannady
RAEFORD, N.C. — Remah DeWarren Cannady, 29, peacefully went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 25, 2014. Remah was warm, loving, caring and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He had a passion for collecting tennis shoes.
Remah is survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Herman and Pearlette Badger and Trent W. Cannady, two brothers, Kevin (Alicia) and Timothy Badger, and sister, Adrienne Badger, maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell and Wille Mae Alsbrooks Sr., and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Sr. and Geneva Badger. Precious memories will also be cherished by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Demi Foust
GREENSBORO — Demi Layne Foust, 66, died in his home in Greensboro on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, after a battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Brooks Taylor, his daughter Emily Foust and her daughter Clair, his daughter, Virginia Smith, son-in-law, Nathan Smith, and their three boys, Ty, Dylan and Harrison, his daughter, Mary Foust, his son, Devin Wallace Foust, his son Taylor Wallace Foust and daughter-in-law Mary O. Foust, step-daughters Hazel and Mary Nelson, first wife Susan Wallace Foust and father, William Eugene Foust. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Sue Anderson.
Demi was born in Greensboro in 1947. He graduated from Page High School in 1965 and attended Guilford College. After a long and fulfilling career in newspaper marketing with the Greensboro Daily News and the High Point Enterprise, he started a new life chapter restoring homes and becoming a N.C. Realtor. Demi was also an avid sports fan, race car enthusiast and had recently discovered a new love of travel.
A celebration of his life is planned for Saturday, April 5, at 6 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 2201 W. Cornwallis Dr., Greensboro, N.C. 27408. In the spirit of Demi, please dress informally. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name to WUNC Public Radio.

Barbara Frazier
TRINITY — Barbara Clodfelter Frazier, 76, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Hospice Home of High Point. She was born in High Point to the late Edgar and Vernon Clodfelter. She was a member of the High Point Women of the Moose Lodge. She loved to play bingo, loved the beach and pier fishing. She also loved to dance and cook for her family. She retired from Samples, Inc. after many dedicated years.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mildred and her brother James Clodfelter, husband Donald Frazier and her son, Thomas Smith. She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Raye (Danny) Carroll of Trinity, one son, Jeffrey McDaniel of Asheboro, grandchildren, Heather (Brian) Powell, Justin McDaniel, Andrea Vergowven, Cara (Mark) Allison, Robert (Whitney) Vergowven and Brittney Smith, six great grandchildren and one on the way.
A memorial service will be conducted by Dr. Brian Powell at the High Point Moose Lodge, 902 Greensboro Rd. High Point, N.C., on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at 11 a.m. A visitation will begin at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Home of High Point, 1803 Westchester Drive, High Point, N.C. 27262. Guinell Hill
HIGH POINT — Guinell “Flossie” Hill of 1211 Cedrow Drive departed her long earthly life of ninety-one years on March 23, 2014. Guinell was born on October 12, 1922, to the late Mable Dye Childress and Will Simmons. She was loved and raised by her stepfather, Henry Childress. Guinell was a native of Hickory Grove, South Carolina, but chose to live her adult life in High Point. She was married to husband, Large Hill, for twenty-seven years and they had three children. Guinell was a domestic worker, but also worked for Furrs Fish Market and last employed at Alma Desk for twenty-one years before retirement. She was a faithful member of First Emmanuel Baptist Church for seventy-three years. She served faithfully as a Mother of the church and member of the Missionary Board until failing health prevented her from attending.
In addition to her parents and stepfather, she was preceded in death by two children, Mable Famer and James T. Howell II. Surviving relatives include four daughters, Hattie Hill of the home, Janet Graham, Betty H. McLean of High Point and Annie Howell of Baltimore, Md., two sons, Jerry (Octavia) Hill of Fayetteville and Frankie C. Howell of Ft. Worth, Texas, a granddaughter that she raised as her own, Owennetta Hamrick of Houston, Texas, sixteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, one nephew, best friend, Betty Peguese, a special young man, Richard Franklin, whom she kept from childhood, as well as numerous friends and neighbors who were dedicated during her illness.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Sunday, March 30, 2014, at First Emmanuel Baptist Church, 833 Leonard St. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. Mary Keck
HIGH POINT — Mary Frances Eller Keck, 71, of Oakwood Street, died Thursday, March 27, 2014, at her home. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Davidson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Raleigh Hayden and Dr. Gary Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at the funeral home and other times at the home of her son, Nathan on Foxcroft Drive.
Mrs. Keck was born December 19, 1942, in Ashe County, to Kelly Eller and Georgia Farmer Eller. She was owner of a boarding house and a member of True Love Church in High Point. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Smith.
Surviving are sons, Nathan Kuykendall and wife Cheryl, Bryant Kuykendall, Duskin Lassiter, all of Lexington, and John Keck of High Point, grandchildren, Allison Tuck and husband Michael of Lexington, Heather Conrad and husband Stephen of Havelock, Candace Keck and Kelly Keck, both of High Point, great-grandchild, Parker Tuck of Lexington, and sister, Mae Kinlaw of White Oak, Ga. Morgan Marshall
HIGH POINT — Ms. Morgan Nichole Marshall, 25, resident of High Point, died March 25, 2014 at High Point Regional Hospital. Morgan was born June 16, 1988, in Guilford County, a daughter to Richard and Diane Kirkman Marshall. A resident of this area all her life, she attended Westchester Country Day School from kindergarten through twelfth grade. Later she worked as a waitress at Tipsy’s Tavern and other restaurants in the area. In her free time, she loved to travel and shop. She was preceded in death by her mother and several grandparents.
Surviving is her father of High Point, a half-sister, Beth Silvis-Boggs of North Canton, Ohio, maternal grandfather, Allen Kirkman of Pleasant Garden, a special friend and neighbor, Sue Schoch, and numerous cousins. Morgan’s memorial service will be held at 5 p.m., Saturday, in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point with Pastor Kelly Kellum officiating. Bishop Reginald McDougle
HIGH POINT — Bishop Reginald McDougle of High Point, son of the late Edith McDougle and Artemus Manning of Selma, N.C., departed this life Sunday, March 23, 2014, at High Point Regional Hospital. Bishop McDougle served as pastor of the Thomasville Parkside Church of God of Prophecy. He also served congregations in Kannapolis and Robbins, N.C. He received an associate’s degree from Tomlinson College, Cleveland, Tenn., and a Bachelor of Arts from Lee University, Cleveland, Tenn. He was consecrated Bishop in July 2012 at the International Assembly of the Churches of God of Prophecy.
He is survived by his wife, Lelia Tillman McDougle, one son, Brian, adopted daughter, Nathalie, four grandchildren, one sister, Lisa Smith, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The celebration of his life will be held at the Temple Memorial Baptist Church, 1458 Cedrow Dr. on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens, Jamestown, N.C. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 p.m. until 1 p.m. Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc. HIGH POINT — Mrs. Ruby Ann Owens, 74, passed away Wednesday March 26, 2014, at High Point Regional Hospital. A memorial service will be held 12 p.m. Sunday March 30, 2014, at First Congregational Christian Church, 1718 Chestnut Dr. in High Point.

Lillian Spencer
TRINITY — Lillian Lucille Spencer passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Skeet Club Manor, where she had been a resident for the last two years. Lucille was born on July 26, 1922, in High Point, to the late George Washington Spencer and the late Flossie Farlow Spencer. She was a lifelong resident of Trinity and attended Trinity High School. Lucille retired in 2000 from Braxton Culler, Inc. after many years of loyal and dedicated service. She was a life member of Poplar Ridge Friends Meeting, a life member of the Willing Fellowship Sunday School class and a life member of the Cora Lee Johnson Circle.
In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by three sisters, Eula Spencer Savage, Ruth Spencer Ward and Pearl Spencer Hill. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Cicero Henry Spencer. Lucille is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Special nieces, Nancy Buie and Peggy Ledwell, provided remarkably compassionate care to Lucille in the latter years of her life. The family would like to extend sincere appreciation to the staff at Skeet Club Manor and to the staff at Hospice of the Piedmont, namely Dr. Genevieve Wroblewski and Melissa Kennedy, for their incomparable care of Lucille.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 29, at 1 p.m. at Poplar Ridge Friends Meeting with Reverend Dr. Brian Donley and Pastor David Mercadante officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. LEXINGTON — Rev. Thomas Lee Thompson, of Lexington, passed Friday, March 21, 2014.
