LEXINGTON — Mrs. Linda Sue Miles Phillips, 59, a resident of Lexington, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014, at her home. Linda was born on September 16, 1954, in New Bedford, Mass., to the late William D. Miles and Frances Hartley Spano. Linda had a very strong faith and love for God. She was a devoted and faithful member of Wayside Tabernacle Freewill Baptist Church. She especially enjoyed going to the beach and taking family trips. She cherished her family dearly and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
Surviving is her husband, Danny Phillips, of the home, daughters, Kim Edwards and her husband Anthony of Denton, Terra Boles and her husband Steve of Lexington, and Kelly McHone and her husband Wayne of Thomasville, step-daughters, Kimberly Yarbrough of Trinity and Angel Phillips of Walnut Cove, her grandchildren, Chelsea, Alley, Peyton, Jonathan, Dawson, Noah, Harper, Evan, Jayden and Sierra, sister, Sharon Owens and her husband George of High Point, brothers Brad and Kenneth Miles of Burlington and her step mother, Lula Miles. Also surviving are nieces, Shannon, Krista, Kerri, Connie and Ashleigh, nephews Juan, Chad, Brian, James and Anthony, great nieces, Callie, Summer, Elizabeth, KayCee and Lissa, great nephews, Daylan, Seth, Cameron and Ashton, as well as several cousins.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, in the chapel of Thomasville Funeral Home, 18 Randolph Street, with Rev. Jimmy Garrett officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. LANDIS — Robert “Bobby” Russell Pressley, 53, of Landis, died Sunday at his home. He was born December 29, 1960, in Norfolk, V.A., a son to Brenda Rich Pressley of High Point and the late Robert Pressley. He was the fitness director of Penske Racing for 17 years before moving to South Port, N.C., where he owned an antique shop. He later moved to High Point to give loving care to his dad who was terminally ill. Mr. Pressley was a member of the Connect Christian Church in Concord. He will be remembered as a devoted son, brother and uncle.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Pressley is survived by a brother, Bradford Pressley, and wife Heather of Raleigh, and three nephews, Hudson, Heath and Hogan. Also surviving are his beloved friend, Darlene DeRosa, and nephews, Robert and Domenic DeRosa.
Funeral services will be private. TRINITY — Robert E. “Woody” Wiliams, 67, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014, at Graybrier Nursing & Rehab following three years of declining health. Robert was born in High Point, January 14, 1947, a son of the late Fletcher Wilson and Minor Salome Williams. He was a Navy veteran of Vietnam and retired from Custom Processing. Robert was a loving husband and father who enjoyed gardening. He was an avid Redskins fan and of the Baptist faith. Robert was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Tina Williams of the home, a daughter, Amanda Williams of Thomasville, a son, Robert “Robbie” Williams II, stationed at El Paso, T.X., a granddaughter, Chloe Ballard, and a sister, Joyce Freeman of Archdale.
A Celebration of Robert’s Life will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Davis Funerals and Cremations Chapel by Pastor David Williams. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park.
